00:00This is the German Touring Car Masters 2000.
00:08Fans, action, dynamic excitement and pure motorsport.
00:12That was the German Touring Car Championship between 1986 and 1995.
00:17Huge crowds followed those races at the track and on television.
00:21The German Touring Car Championship was the Formula One of Touring Car Racing.
00:41It's been five years since racing fans have been able to follow such races.
00:45In the last year of the German Touring Car Championship, the races averaged 70,000 fans per event.
01:10It was not only the high quality of racing, but it was also a chance for the fans to literally
01:15touch the cars and drivers.
01:18Stars and fans could meet each other. It was the best that the motorsports calendar had to offer.
01:32Then in April of this year, it returned.
01:34The cars and drivers of the new German Touring Car Masters met the public in Berlin.
01:39Mercedes, Opel and Audi along with 19 drivers were going to test each other.
01:43It was clear that the current group wanted to grasp onto the success of the past.
01:48If you remember, we had a really successful DTM Championship in the past.
01:54And we know that it's absolutely necessary to have it below the Formula One.
01:58And we need fascinating cars, we need spectacular cars.
02:02And we need that, what we now see here today, real racing cars, especially for our visitors.
02:08And that is the reason why we are here and why we are very happy to integrate the DTM for
02:132000.
02:21Racing fans never really found a racing series to take its place.
02:25There were plenty of attempts to get such a series started, but none were accepted as was the German Touring
02:29Car Championship.
02:30We'll see you later.
02:31Scott Lucifer – FTR.
02:47Thank you, guys.
02:50We'll see you in the next video.
02:50We'll see you next time.
02:50We'll see you next time.
02:57Cheers.
03:40Three manufacturers were ready to return to German touring car racing, among them Audi, with the App Sportsline team.
03:47In 1996 we had a great championship in Germany. A lot of spectakers were very happy about this series.
03:53And now we're back again in 2000 and we hope we had a big show.
04:01The German Touring Car Championship was a series where you had to fight to win.
04:05Each race was tough, and TV stations carried the action live.
04:26This was a great opportunity for the manufacturers to show their wares, just as Mercedes wants to do this year.
04:34DTM has a real great history, and I mean, even outside, even outside from Germany, everybody knows, everybody who is
04:44focused on motorsport knows the DTM very well.
04:47It's spectacular motorsport, it's a lot of fun for the spectators, and that's what will happen in Hockenheim again when
04:53we start at the 28th of May.
04:57The first race, Hockenheim, in May, they're running the short course.
05:03Two races over the 1.6 mile course make up the weekend of racing.
05:07The new series would start where the original German Touring Car Series ended, Back to the Future.
05:1256,000 fans came for the first weekend of racing.
05:16It was a huge party with an international flair.
05:30The last series champion, Bernd Schneider, got last-minute support from his wife, Nicole.
05:43The starting lineup saw Schneider's Mercedes and the Opel of Manuel Reuter on the front row.
05:49The second row was made up of newcomers, Marcel Fesler and Timo Scheider.
05:54Row three, Michel Bartels and Uwe Alsen in Opels.
06:00Row four, Peter Dumbraak and Thomas Jaeger in Mercedes.
06:07And the ninth and tenth positions, Jochen Winklhock and Eric Gellerie.
06:11A few meters, and the season would be underway.
06:16Manuel Reuter and Bernd Schneider get a great start.
06:19And Reuter takes the lead.
06:21Behind him, Schneider, Timo Scheider and Marcel Fesler.
06:29Then, in the second curve, Manuel Reuter goes off.
06:33He waited too late with his braking and Reuter loses several positions.
06:37Schneider takes the lead ahead of Timo Scheider, Marcel Fesler, Michel Bartels and Jochen Winklhock.
06:43The three Audis are at the end of the pack.
06:51This is the mistake that pushed Reuter back to tenth position.
06:59At the end of the pack, Christian Apt and Klaus Ludwig touch, and the Apt's Audi spins, but he gets
07:04back on the track.
07:06Manuel Reuter has moved from tenth to seventh and is now after Scotland's Peter Dumbraak in his white and blue
07:11Mercedes.
07:13Reuter uses a slipstream to pass Dumbraak, and more good action lay ahead.
07:20The track workers have their hands full, keeping the track clear of debris.
07:26Reuter is the fastest driver in the field and works his way all the way up to third by the
07:31end of the race.
07:33Bernd Schneider continued to put the laps behind him.
07:36He was headed for the first victory of the season in a brand new series.
07:46Finishing second, Marcel Fesler ahead of Manuel Reuter.
07:49It was the Mercedes fans' time to celebrate a 1-2 finish.
07:59It got tight at the start of the second race.
08:01Timo Scheider in the blue Opel spun.
08:06And then Thomas Jaeger lost the hood of his Mercedes, and everyone behind him was lucky it didn't hit their
08:11car.
08:13Another look at Scheider's spin.
08:19Then the reins came down, and the safety car came out on lap 17.
08:25The pit road became busy.
08:27Schneider and Fesler head to the pits first for rain tires.
08:36The ones who waited too long would have problems.
08:39Pedro Lamy hits the tire wall.
08:43Bernd Schneider is a rain specialist.
08:46He came home first in the second race, capping off a great day.
08:49Two races, two victories.
08:51Marcel Fesler was second, and Michel Bartels was third.
08:58The Mercedes crew was into their celebration.
09:01Bernd Schneider had gotten them off to a great start in the new season.
09:11Schneider picks up 40 points for the double win.
09:13The chase for the driver's title was underway.
09:37The second race weekend was set for the 2.28 mile course at the motor park in Aussischleben.
09:45Mercedes had dominated at HÃ¥kenheim, but Aussischleben was supposed to be an Opel circuit.
09:56This would be a battle between Opel and Mercedes.
09:59First, Uwe Olsen and Marcel Fesler bumped into each other.
10:02Olsen's front spoiler was damaged.
10:10Later, the Opel driver would be spun by Marcel Thiemann.
10:26Mercedes driver Bernd Schneider spun the Opel of Erik Ellery late in the race.
10:35Opel's sports chief Volker Stritzig was not a happy man.
10:42Things got better for the Opel crew when Manuel Reuter led Opel teammate Joachim Winkelhock across the finish line to
10:48take the win.
10:49Opel had finally beaten Mercedes.
10:53The fans at the motor park were enjoying the weather and the racing.
11:02The start of the second race was clean.
11:05Manuel Reuter held on to the lead ahead of Joachim Winkelhock.
11:18Back in the pack, things didn't look that good for Opel when Timo Scheider and Christian Menzel went out.
11:34Mercedes had to watch as their star driver Bernd Schneider lost control of his car and crashed into the tire
11:39wall.
11:40This ended his race day.
11:51Here, another look at the Mercedes going off the course.
11:53One of the few bad moments in the season for Schneider.
11:58In this championship, you have to push really hard to be competitive.
12:04And if you're driving on the limit all the time, just a little miss can push you off.
12:09And that's what's happened in Ossersleben.
12:12The motor park at Ossersleben belonged to Opel.
12:15Manuel Reuter could celebrate a double weekend victory.
12:29Reuter closed in on Ben Schneider in the points race, both with 52.
12:38I think it's really emotional because nobody was expecting after Hockenheims that we will be able here to fight against
12:49Mercedes or maybe to win.
12:51And I'm really, really proud.
13:00This is not the first time that Manuel Reuter has shown on the racetrack.
13:04He has won all types of races in his career.
13:06And there's one thing special that plays an important part.
13:26A pedal car, lawnmowers, go-karts, and then the move into formula racing.
13:31His career seemed predetermined, but then an accident forced him to change course in those plans.
13:38He was runner-up in the German Touring Car Championship in 1987 in a Ford, and moved on to the
13:43Sports Car World Championship.
13:48The big step forward came in 1989, when he won at Le Mans for Mercedes.
13:58More successes lay ahead with Porsche.
14:01Seven years after his first success, he was back on top, and the number seven became his number.
14:15His lucky number.
14:171996, he won the championship in the International Touring Car Championship.
14:43In the Super Touring Cars, he was on the podium 17 times.
14:47Precision work, a will to win, and perfect fitness have brought success to him.
14:54First, he moved to Monaco, but now makes his home in Austria.
15:00His wife, Michaela, and daughter, Anna Teresa, make up the family.
15:04Incidentally, his daughter was born on a seventh.
15:07Reuter can't imagine life without his family.
15:23The next race weekend of the season was at the 1.4-mile street course in Nuremberg.
15:28It's called the Norris Ring, the so-called Monte Carlo of Germany.
15:44Shortly before the start, a number of drivers had to take care of some problems.
16:13As the race got underway, there were new leaders out in front, the orange Opel of Jochen Winkelhock
16:18and beside him, the Mercedes of Marcel Thiemann.
16:22Behind them, Timo Scheider and Thomas Jaeger go at it.
16:29Winkelhock and Timo continue to battle, and Winkelhock comes out on top.
16:39Another Mercedes-Opel battle, Klaus Ludwig against Manuel Reuter.
16:43And Reuter makes a mistake breaking and drops back a couple of positions.
17:19A great start for the Holzer Opel crew and their 39-year-old driver, Jochen Winkelhock.
17:30The Norris Ring, there's always a very special atmosphere, and I have a lot of fans in Nuremberg.
17:36So for me, of course, it was very important to be successful.
17:41The tires became the key in the second race of the day at the Norris Ring because of rain.
17:47And Mercedes was out for revenge.
17:51Winkelhock was the last of the top drivers to go to the pits as the track began to dry,
17:55and other drivers had gone to slicks.
17:57This was a mistake.
17:58The crew performed perfectly, but Winkelhock lost places.
18:12Bernd Schneider had taken the lead and left everyone else behind.
18:21The battle for second proved to be tight.
18:24Ludwig takes over the spot, passing Reuter in the hairpin.
18:38Bernd Schneider won his third race of the season, and the battle between Opel and Mercedes stood
18:43at three wins apiece.
18:48Reuter didn't give up.
18:49He passed Ludwig right before the end of the race for second place.
18:52Ludwig would finish third.
18:57With his win, Schneider took the lead in the points race, 82 points ahead of Reuter and
19:03Jochen Winkelhock.
19:09The day belonged to Bernd Schneider.
19:14I'm really satisfied because we could not expect, especially after the first one, that
19:19we are fighting for winning the second one, and I'm really happy, but we gambled a lot
19:25in the second, and at that time it's worked out, and we won everything.
19:29And I'm very happy, and I congratulate to the team, because this is for sure a victory by
19:35the team, because this pit stop was amazing.
19:39The fourth race weekend of the German Touring Car Masters was held at the Sachsenring.
19:43The circuit lies between Dresden and Leipzig.
19:46It would be a showplace of a special drama.
19:49And the weather was perfect on race day.
19:59Klaus Ludwig started from the pole position.
20:02He led ahead of Peter Dumbrec and another Mercedes, then came Winkelhock and Reuter.
20:07Going into the first curve, Stefano Modena spun.
20:13Points leader Bernd Schneider went off the course, but was able to get back into the race.
20:19Switzerland's Marcel Fesler had problems with the right rear of his car.
20:26Modena wants the course workers to shove him out of the gravel.
20:30And the hood of Pedro Lamy's Mercedes gains a life of its own.
20:39Then the problems hit the opals.
20:41Jochen Winkelhock sails off the course and hits the guardrail.
20:49Uwe Olsen is in the pits.
20:51Everyone is wondering what's going on.
20:57Uwe Olsen leaves the course and ends up in the gravel.
21:04And then in the final moments of the race, Opel's top car goes off the course.
21:08And Bernd Schneider inherits the position.
21:15It's a disastrous day for Opel.
21:24Klaus Ludwig celebrates his first victory of the new season.
21:27The 50-year-old star finished ahead of Peter Dumbrec and Bernd Schneider.
21:30Mercedes, first, second, and third.
21:35Mercedes sports chief Norbert Haug is naturally satisfied with the day's outcome.
21:41Opel drivers Manuel Reuter and Jochen Winkelhock couldn't believe their bad luck.
21:53The Opel mechanics now had their work cut out for them.
21:57They had to get the cars ready for the second race.
22:02Ludwig could bask in the glow of victory while the fans had a chance to look around the pits.
22:11The second race was almost the same as the first.
22:14Opel suffered more problems.
22:16And Stefano Modena spun and was out.
22:29Uwe Olsen once again headed to the pits.
22:37As the race wore on, Eric Ellery was the only Opel driver in the top group.
22:41He was third head of Bernd Schneider.
22:45And then it happened to him.
22:48He sailed off the course through the gravel.
22:59Smoke came out of his car, the tire locked up, and the car was out of control.
23:07It was a disastrous weekend for Opel.
23:10But there was a simple explanation for it.
23:12I think everybody saw it.
23:14We had on forecast a tire puncher.
23:16The main reason was a gully was out of the track, and the gully destroyed our tires.
23:24It was really hard for us.
23:25We lost a lot of points for the championship.
23:30Eric Ellery is one unhappy Frenchman.
23:36It was different with the Mets-80s team.
23:38Klaus Ludwig won the second race of the day, ahead of Dumbrink and Schneider.
23:44In the points race, Bernd Schneider's two third-place finishes gave him 106 points.
23:50Ludwig moved into third place.
23:52What a way to start your comeback.
24:17He could have enjoyed his self-imposed retirement, because he certainly didn't need to prove anything.
24:22But the challenge of the new German Touring Car Masters was too strong, and he wanted to drive again.
24:35The battle for seconds, the technology, and the interaction with his fellow drivers.
24:39These always have fascinated Klaus Ludwig.
24:42They have for more than 30 years.
24:52The list of his successes is long.
24:54He's the most successful German driver at Le Mans, with three victories.
24:58They have for more than 41,000 years.
25:28The
25:33He's won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring three times.
25:42He won two titles in the German Racing Championship and was runner-up three times.
25:47Ludwig won the German Touring Car Championship three times.
25:59One of the reasons for his success is his intelligent and success-oriented working style.
26:05His philosophy worked with the exception of one serious accident, that in 1989, when he
26:11withstood this tremendous crash at the Nürburgring.
26:19Nothing bothers this perfectionist more than his own mistakes.
26:22He's furious when a weekend's work is wasted.
26:32Victories are what count for him.
26:37It gave me self-confidence back.
26:40I think every sportsman needs that awfully.
26:44If you are struggling a little bit and then you have a good comeback and you find that
26:48you are on the pace, it helps a lot.
26:52It's been three years since the German Touring Cars were at the Nürburgring.
26:56racing.
26:56These races in the Eiffel Mountains are always one of the high points of the season.
27:00The tradition and the elite of the sport bring in the fans.
27:20Right at the start, Opel had to watch one of their cars spin, that being Christian Menzel.
27:25He doesn't seem to have any luck this season.
27:32It started to rain hard in the middle of the race.
27:35The drivers headed to the pits to change tires.
27:46Despite the terrible weather conditions, the racing was hard.
27:49Here Eric Ellery and Peter Dumbrek.
27:58You can see how hard it is from a driver's point of view.
28:12Uwe Olsen had all types of problems at the Nürburgring, this being just one of them.
28:20Mercedes drivers Fesler and T-Man also had their share of problems.
28:29But it was Bernd Schneider who came out on top in the rain.
28:32He drove his Mercedes perfectly and finished first with almost a 22 second lead.
28:53Second place went to Klaus Ludwig, who got stronger in the second half of the season.
28:59The weather didn't get any better.
29:01All the drivers were on rain tires at the start of the second race.
29:05Schneider and Ludwig were out in front.
29:09Behind them came Fesler, Lamy and Reuter, who was the best Opel at this point.
29:23Ellery spun coming out of the chicane.
29:25He was lucky and could keep going.
29:33In slow motion you can see that Peter Dumbrek tapped Ellery, forcing him to spin.
29:43Scotland's Peter Dumbrek spun on his own, but got the car back on the track.
29:52Ellery was able to close the gap on the leaders.
29:55Here he duels with Opel driver Timo Scheider.
29:58He was just a little too fast, couldn't quite control it and went off into the gravel.
30:09Mercedes driver Thomas Jaeger also had his share of problems.
30:15Uwe Olsen once again tries too hard and has to go to the pits with a flat tire.
30:23And once again it was Bernd Schneider who handled the weather conditions the best and took the
30:28victory.
30:35His second double victory of the season gives him a comfortable lead in the points race.
30:42Schneider leads with 146 points ahead of Mercedes teammate Klaus Ludwig.
30:46Ludwig finished second here at the Nürburgring.
30:48Mercedes leads Opel in victories 7 to 3.
30:53Bernd Schneider is one happy driver.
31:04The sixth race weekend was scheduled at the new track, the Euro Speedway in the Lausitz
31:09region of Germany.
31:12The pictures of the day looked like this, rain, rain and more rain.
31:20Only the most hearty of fans braved the weather.
31:22They wanted to see the first touring car race at their new circuit.
31:32The drivers tried to give the fans their race, but the track was unsafe to race on.
31:39The red flag came out, cancelling the races and the circuit would move on.
31:44The next stop was actually the second stop this season at Auschwitzleben.
31:48This time the weather was fine for the two race weekend.
32:08The start, once again Bernd Schneider started from the pull.
32:12But three Opels were right behind it, Uwe Alsen, Joachim Winkelhock and Manuel Reuter.
32:24The action started early.
32:28Winkelhock goes through the gravel, comes back to the track and the collisions start.
32:38There were a number of drivers involved in this one.
32:41There were damaged cars everywhere, and Pedro Lamy loses the hood to his car.
32:51Marcel Fesler, another of those affected by the collisions.
32:57Another look at this one.
32:58Winkelhock went into the gravel, returned to the track, hoping to get into the field again.
33:02He did, but everybody else ran into him.
33:17This is how Pedro Lamy saw it.
33:26The race was stopped.
33:33More problems here for Pedro Lamy.
33:42There were a number of drivers who had problems and wouldn't be back in the first race.
33:56The man responsible for it all took a break.
34:12The track crews took some 50 minutes to clean up the mess.
34:24At the restart, it was Joachim Winkelhock who spun first and was out of the race.
34:28It just wasn't his day.
34:34At the front of the pack at the restart, Bernd Schneider, Uwe Olsen, and it was Olsen in the lead.
34:48It was the day for the Audi.
34:50For the first time this season, Laurent Aiello had an Audi in the leading group.
34:54The Audi's started the season slowly, but were now headed toward the leaders.
35:06The Audi fans finally had something to cheer about.
35:14At the finish, Uwe Olsen held on to beat Bernd Schneider.
35:17It's Olsen's first win of the season, which up until this point hadn't been that good for him.
35:31The mechanics had their hands full between the races here at Ossersleben.
35:35They had to get their cars ready for the second race.
35:39At the start of the second race, Bernd Schneider got off badly.
35:42He was passed by Manuel Reuter.
35:51There was a major moment for Audi driver James Thompson.
35:54He lost control of his car.
35:56He sails across the track and then heads toward the guardrail.
36:05He was unhurt. The car was a loss.
36:16Bernd Schneider was eventually able to pass Manuel Reuter for second place.
36:20And then he started after the leader, Uwe Olsen.
36:26Schneider was putting pressure on Olsen when the Opel driver spun.
36:37Once again from Bernd Schneider's view.
36:45Now Bernd Schneider had a clear track ahead of him.
36:48He would pick up his sixth win for Mercedes.
36:55Schneider now enjoyed 181 points, while Klaus Ludwig and Manuel Reuter were tied for second.
37:08This is the dominator this year in German touring car racing.
37:16The next to last race weekend of the season brought the cars once again to the Nürburgring.
37:22The ring in the Eiffel presented a different picture for the drivers this time.
37:27They would face fog, cold temperatures, rain and wind.
37:38Bernd Schneider could wrap up the title with a pair of good finishes here.
37:42He qualified third behind Winklehawk and Reuter.
37:51As the race got underway, Marcel Timon lost his hood.
37:55But it's the second time that's happened to him this season.
38:01After six laps, Reuter was out in front, followed by Winklehawk and Schneider.
38:06Schneider goes after Winklehawk at the pit straight.
38:09And he gets by.
38:10Uwe Olsen also passes Winklehawk.
38:28Reuter is out in front, headed toward victory.
38:31Schneider is second, which gives him important points toward the Drivers' Championship.
38:43Italy's Stefano Modena wasn't happy with the way things finished.
38:47His mechanics were included in that feeling.
38:56AMG team boss Hans Werner Aufrecht.
38:58He knew that if Schneider could finish in the top five in the second race, then Schneider would be the
39:03champ.
39:05Schneider had to battle Uwe Olsen in the second race.
39:08Schneider loses it, but then gets it back on the track and keeps on going.
39:12He's running fifth.
39:23In the replay you can see that Olsen and Schneider do touch, but Schneider keeps control of the car.
39:38Manuel Reuter takes his second double victory of the season, finishing ahead of Fesler, Jaeger and Bernd Schneider, who takes
39:45the Drivers' Championship with a fourth place finish.
39:55Manuel Reuter, one happy man.
39:59But so is Hans Werner Aufrecht of Mercedes.
40:04Bernd Schneider is the first German Touring Car Masters Champion.
40:09In the points race, Schneider on top with Manuel Reuter second and Klaus Ludwig third.
40:20Mercedes and Bernd Schneider were the last champions in the old German Touring Car Championship.
40:26And now they're the new champs in the new series.
40:29We have a big launch here in Nürburgring, Mercedes-Benz launch and some of my friends are here and we
40:37celebrate the party tonight until no end, open end.
40:47The season-ending weekend was once again at HÃ¥kenheim.
40:50The fans turned out in droves to see the final places in the championship decided.
40:55This time, they would race on the Grand Prix course.
41:05Germany's soccer legend Franz Beckenbauer was one of the honored guests at this racing spectacular.
41:13It was believed Opel would be the dominant force in the Grand Prix circuit.
41:18There were six Opels near the front.
41:19Reuter, Olsen, Winklehawk, Bartels, Ellery and Timo Scheider.
41:28The Opel of Christian Menzel left the race spectacularly.
41:32He climbs over the back of James Thompson's Audi and then heads into the tire wall.
41:40Here's another look at it.
41:51Up front, the leader, Reuter, and Olsen have problems.
41:56Smoke is coming out of Reuters car.
42:12Here's what happened.
42:14Olsen drove into the rear of Reuters car at the braking point and then ended up taking the escape route.
42:31Reuter had to head to the pits.
42:33Reuter was going for second place in the Drivers' Championship.
42:37But this would be a crazy race.
42:46Klaus Ludwig also headed for the pits.
42:48Ludwig is the only man who could pass Reuter in the points.
42:58Ludwig came in for a time penalty.
43:01It seems his mechanics worked on the car three seconds longer than was allowed.
43:06Ludwig couldn't believe it.
43:07He wanted to leave the pits, but didn't receive the sign.
43:13He was so mad, he got out of the car.
43:26The Mercedes drivers battled for every position at Hockenheim.
43:31This is Lamy, Fesler, and Timon.
43:33The last one of this group comes home with nothing.
43:44Uwe Olsen won the race finishing ahead of Bernd Schneider.
43:47This is his second win of the season.
43:49But even more important, it leaves Opel only one victory behind Mercedes for the season.
43:58The last race would be the decider.
44:04Reuter had to start the second race from the back of the pack.
44:08And here he shows his driving talent.
44:10He just gets by Ludwig and Nissen.
44:14Schneider heads for the pits after six laps.
44:17Not a great tragedy since he already had the title in his pocket.
44:23Manuel Reuter ran out of luck, though, when he lost control and slammed into the guardrail.
44:33He seems a little groggy after that one.
44:40In the replay you can see that Thomas Jaeger touched Reuter from behind.
44:43He didn't have much of a chance.
44:46Reuter wasn't injured.
44:51Olsen drove home to a double victory at Hockenheim.
44:54He was followed by the Opels of Jochen Winklehawk, Michel Bartels and Stefano Modena.
44:58In the makes battle, Opel and Mercedes ended up with eight wins apiece.
45:11So in the final points, the new German Touring Car Masters champion Bernd Schneider, followed by Manuel Reuter and Klaus
45:17Ludwig, who incidentally didn't finish either race at Hockenheim.
45:20Then came Fesner Winklehawk and Hockenheim double winner Uwe Alsen.
45:26This is the man of the season, Bernd Schneider.
45:46Bernd Schneider is not the loud, boisterous star of his sport.
45:49He's motivated, self-assured, strong, and very fast.
45:56From where?
46:10Of the Slam Sanding
46:11But we've come ?
46:14Well!
46:22Let's get off to that, like you guys last time off!
46:24We'll be there to the next one,flip-man and waiting.
46:32It was always that way.
46:33It didn't matter if it was go-karts, Formula 3, or Formula 1.
46:37In Formula 1, it was three years of frustration in a less than competitive car.
46:50This was now behind him.
46:51He joined Mercedes in 1991 and has shown all types of other driving talents.
46:56In 1995, he won the German Touring Car Championship and the International Touring Car Championship.
47:02He was the Touring Car Man.
47:10When the International Touring Car Circuit ended, Schneider drove for Mercedes in the GT World Championship.
47:15He finished second in that series.
47:31In the German Touring Car Masters, he was the one people would have had to beat if they
47:36wanted to take the title.
47:38And it wouldn't have been easy.
47:39In order to become champion, he had to always drive on the limit.
47:46Even when he oversteps the limit, it seems to make him stronger.
47:58The German Touring Car Masters was second only to Formula 1 this season in Germany, and will
48:03go down in motorsports history that way.
48:08As good to be said.
48:34In the subconscious country, he did not know how long they were done.
48:35They brought the fans to them and presented the highest quality of racing.
49:11That was it for the Season 2000.
49:15So long until next season, and more dramatic racing.
50:05Bye.
