00:02The Trump administration ended all pending IRS audits against Trump,
00:07his family, and affiliated businesses through a Tuesday statement by acting Attorney General
00:12Todd Blanche. According to the Wall Street Journal, the agreement also bars any government
00:17agency from pursuing pending or future claims related to previously filed tax returns and
00:23could block prosecution of tax crimes. The deal is tied to a broader settlement in which Trump
00:29withdrew a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the illegal leak of his tax returns.
00:35The Justice Department created a $1.8 billion fund for those claiming harm from government
00:40weaponization. Former IRS commissioners said they were unaware of any precedent for such
00:46an arrangement. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
