00:24I always feel a quiet ache when it's time to leave Bali.

00:33Even when a new adventure is waiting somewhere beyond the horizon, a part of me stays here, tucked

00:44into the rhythm of this island, held gently by the warmth of its air.

00:52Our time in Ubud felt like a long exhale.

01:01Something in the jungle always knows how to loosen the knots I didn't realize I'd been

01:08We leave here a little clearer, a little softer, and a little more ourselves every time.

01:16This morning we're packing up again, weaving through the narrow streets to a new Airbnb

01:22just down the road.

01:25A small shift before a much bigger journey.

01:29One that's pulling us toward a country we've never explored before.

06:53Okay, I made it back from my little mission.

06:57It started pissing down rain about 20 minutes into the ride.

07:03I was already too far to turn around and come back.

07:06So I got absolutely soaked, but I was able to get to our storage unit.

07:12I went to the Aussie consulate and the guy there who was working there basically just looked at my passport

07:20and said it's fine.

07:21So I've been to a visa agent and the Australian consulate and they both said it's fine because the main

07:27identification pages are okay.

07:29It's just the other pages that are a bit like, they got like wet.

07:32I couldn't go to immigration because it's a public holiday today.

07:34So I'm just going to have to go with that because we've only got two days till we leave.

07:38We don't really have much choice.

07:41So yeah, hopefully everything works out.

07:52All right, we're on our way to the airport in Bali.

07:57Flying to Kuala Lumpur and we're having a 24-hour layover there.

08:01Basically, there's no direct flights from Bali to Cambodia, Siem Reap, which is where we're going.

08:08We could have got a really early flight that had a connection in KL and got to Cambodia the same

08:18day, but it would have ended up being like well over a 12-hour travel day.

08:23I think it was leaving at about 7am and landing in Cambodia at 4pm.

08:30So just a little bit much.

08:33I think the old us would have done it without a baby.

08:38But we're just trying to make everything as enjoyable and as relaxed as possible.

08:43So we've got a 1 o'clock in the afternoon flight, which meant we didn't have to get up super

08:51early.

08:52Plenty of time to get to the airport.

08:55We've only got carry-on luggage, so we've already checked in and everything.

08:59We've got our boarding passes.

09:00Everything should be super simple.

09:02And we land in KL at about 3 or 4pm.

09:07Staying at an Airbnb that's really close to the airport.

09:10We're not going to be going into the city and exploring or anything.

09:13It's purely going to be just to get some sleep and break the two travel days up, which I think

09:20is probably a better option.

09:21So yeah, we booked an Airbnb that's comfortable, has a gym, restaurants close by.

09:28And then we do have an Airbnb already booked in Siam Reap, which is in the centre of town.

09:35And we've organised the tuk-tuk for this trip.

09:38So I'm feeling pretty organised.

09:41Everything's going to be pretty smooth, I think.

09:44I hope.

10:48We're at the airport, we're just waiting to board our flight and I just bought

10:53an Asia eSIM because we're stopping off for 24 hours in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and then

11:00going to Cambodia.

11:02So I'm going to activate it now, at least get it on my phone now and I'll activate it

11:06as soon as we land in KL and then we'll have service the whole time and I'll be able to

11:11order a grab and get food delivered, find the instructions to check into our Airbnb.

11:16It's going to make everything so much easier rather than spending heaps of money on roaming

11:23chargers or getting like a 24 hour SIM at the airport.

11:27This is going to be way, way easier and I'll show you how easy it is to set up too.

11:31So they just send a QR code to my email address as you can see and all I'm going to

11:36do is scan

11:37the QR code, follow a few prompts, push a few buttons and it's good to go.

11:49It usually takes maybe a minute, if that, sometimes more.

11:57Yeah okay so that took about maybe a minute and it's complete.

12:09Now there's one more important thing you've got to do, go into the eSIM and make sure that

12:15you've turned data roaming on and then I like to give it a label every time so I'm going to

12:21label it Olafly December.

12:40And that's it, we're good to go.

12:41Like I literally bought that eSIM when we were in the grab on the way here and by the time

12:46we got here I already had the QR code in my email inbox and I just activated it there and

12:51it took a minute so for the next three days while we're traveling between three different

12:56countries I'm going to have data the whole time so if you want to make travel way easier

15:23Alright, we made it to KL, wasn't too bad of a travel day, about 9 hours all up, we just

15:31checked into the AirBnB, Kuala Lumpur Airport was pretty hectic, some advice if you're flying into KL you do need

15:40to fill out like a digital arrival form before you get here, we didn't know that, we did one for

15:47Cambodia but not for Kuala Lumpur or Malaysia and it took like 20 minutes,

15:53to do it on my phone and then they didn't even check it which was pretty frustrating, and then the

15:57grab situation is hectic, there's like 100 people waiting for grabs all at once, and there's this big board with

16:04like number plates and stuff on it, there's no like loading zone or waiting zone, as soon as the grab

16:09shows up you have to jump in, so that was kind of chaotic and Mandy was pretty much chasing Lila

16:15around the airport the whole time, but we made it and where we're staying is actually pretty cool.

16:18You can see the airport off in the distance, and there's a bunch of like Chinese and Thai restaurants downstairs,

16:26so we're just going to grab something to eat, it's like 6 o'clock at night, we don't have to

16:32be back at the airport until about 11 or 12 tomorrow, so there's going to be a good layover, we'll

16:38get some good rest of it.

17:56the airbnb we stayed at was all right a little bit old and outdated a little bit of mold on

18:03the

18:03roof and the walls but it was quiet and a really good location like there was 7-eleven and a

18:10bunch

18:10of different restaurants and stuff downstairs so kind of a good really good spot to do a layover

18:17just like the room itself it wasn't great so I don't know if we'd highly recommend it but anyway

18:24we're back on our way to the airport to get our second flight from KL to Siem Reap Cambodia and

18:35we're going a little bit early because we saw an H&M at the airport and we're going to just

18:40pick up

18:41a few things because we don't really know what's going to be available in Cambodia and Lila grows

18:48out of her clothes in like a month or two so pick up a couple things I forgot to mention

18:56too that

18:56I didn't have any issues with my passport whatsoever through immigration in Bali and in KL so that was

19:05a huge relief that's something I've been stressing about for a few days and I mentioned in the beginning

19:09of this video when I drove all the way down to Canggu to our storage locker to look for

19:14our two lost GoPro batteries which I ended up replacing

19:20uh Mandy found them in my luggage so I don't know what's up with that like I think from now

19:26on

19:27when I lose something and Mandy just has to look for it because I looked in the same spot I

19:33swear

19:3410 times because I knew I'd packed them I thought they must have just fallen out

19:40but now we have extra GoPro batteries batteries I guess room to lose one I think that's the same as

19:47like when you say there's something not in the fridge and then I go and look and it's like

19:51right at the front of the fridge yeah to be fair we've moved like four or five times in the

19:59last

19:59three weeks um and we had a friend to be visiting and so things have been a bit chaotic I

20:06what I'm putting it down to um I find when I don't like unpack my bags I forget where everything

20:13so because we've been traveling out of a suitcase for a little while now anyway at least we found them

25:45There's a bit of confusion because when we got here in our grab, there's like a hotel reception

25:54side and then there's an Airbnb side.

25:57And they sent us straight over to the Airbnb side and the guy, well, the lady didn't speak

26:02English and so she had to call another guy to come in.

26:06And then he was really confused because this wasn't on his list of Airbnbs that he manages.

26:15But anyway, it was all good.

26:17They just had the key behind the reception for us and we just checked in.

26:26There's a big TV, nice couch, good air con.

26:37So like when we first get somewhere, I just see anything that's within grabbing distance

26:41and I move it into a higher area.

26:49So I think tonight we're going to get settled in and probably honestly just put a takeaway

26:55or something.

26:59We've actually both not been feeling that great and Lila was like, had the sniffles for

27:04a couple of days.

27:05Um, and we think it's either from air con or like possibly mold in some of the rooms we've

27:11been staying in.

27:12I'm pretty sure it's mold.

27:14I saw a mold definitely in the one we were just in, but possibly like, it's just the

27:19feeling that I get felt like mold.

27:22But anyway, yeah, this is a pretty new apartment and it doesn't, we walked in, it didn't smell

27:27like mold or anything at all.

27:28So I think this is going to be good.

27:30We'll do next video is going to be like full first impressions of Cambodia, but so far the

27:37people have been so excited and welcoming.

27:46It's always a good gauge when we get somewhere.

27:47Um, there's a few places you travel to and they kind of, they don't, they just aren't

27:53that welcoming.

27:54Then there's some places like Thailand and Bali, um, where they are super welcoming and

28:00Cambodia seems to be the same.

28:02So I think it's going to be good.

28:03We drove through Siem Reap downtown and it looks like there's a lot going on.

28:08We're super pumped.

28:09There's so much to do here.

28:11We don't even know how long we're spending here.

28:13Uh, we've got a week booked in this Airbnb, which we might end up needing longer.
