00:14involving the billionaire family behind Thailand's Singapore empire.
00:19Fourth-generation family member Sirhanud Sai Scott is being sued by his own mother
00:26who wants to reclaim land worth millions of dollars gifted to him by his late grandfather.
00:32She argues that he had damaged the family's reputation
00:37after publicly accusing his older brother and babysitter of sexually abusing him.
00:43Known as the ungrateful child law, the 1908 legislation allows parents to reclaim gifts
00:50if a child is deemed ungrateful or causes serious reputational harm.
00:55Scott says the law is outdated and can be used to silence children who speak out.
01:01His mother's legal team says the case is aimed at reuniting the family.
01:06The pair are due back in court on July 8th
01:09after two rounds of mediation failed to resolve the dispute.
