00:09Speaking at the Pasir Gudang PKR Division's General Assembly today, the outspoken 74-year-old
00:14said he is not contesting because of his age and to make way for younger leaders to take
00:19over.
00:20On March 1, Hasan said he will not contest for a spot in the Central Leadership Council
00:25or the chairmanship of Johor PKR, a position he held from 2014 to 2019, or any position
00:32at the divisional level.
00:34PKR will hold its divisional elections next month and those for the Central Committee
00:39in May.
00:41Hasan also criticised the party's decision to switch to a delegate-based voting system
00:46for both the party's top six leaders and the 20 council members.
00:51In December, PKR Central Leadership Council member G Manivanan said while division-level
00:56elections will still follow the one-member, one-vote system, the process for electing
01:01the party's top leadership has been amended.
