Soumitra Dutta is an internationally respected scholar and academic leader whose career spans more than four decades in the fields of technology, innovation, and business education. Throughout his distinguished journey, he has held influential positions at world-renowned institutions, including the University of Oxford, Cornell University, and INSEAD, where he championed the integration of digital transformation into modern management education.
Born in India, Soumitra Dutta began his academic path by studying computer science at IIT Delhi before pursuing advanced degrees in the United States. He earned multiple qualifications, including a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, enabling him to combine technological expertise with strategic business insight.
Beyond academia, he has made significant contributions to entrepreneurship and public policy. In 2008, he co-founded Fisheye Analytics, a company later acquired by WPP Group.
