Soumitra Dutta, Indian author, entrepreneur, and academic, is a former dean of Oxford Said Business School. His career reflects a rare blend of academic excellence and entrepreneurial vision. Educated at IIT Delhi, where he later received the Distinguished Alumnus Award, and with a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, Dutta began his faculty journey at INSEAD in 1989.
He became a pioneer in measuring global trends, co-founding the Global Innovation Index and the Network Readiness Index, both of which shaped how governments and organizations viewed technology and growth.
