00:00You know how whenever anyone plays a video game in a film or TV show, they move the control
00:03around like wild and twist their head from side to side? Well, that's exactly the kind
00:07of behaviour that Ace Combat 8 Wings of Thieves brings out in me whenever I find myself engaged
00:12in an intense dogfight. AC-8 continues the series' traditions of breakneck speed, exhilarating
00:17flight combat and having the absolute best soundtracks, but Bandai Namco's renewed focus
00:22on cutscene-heavy storytelling does make getting into the action a bit slower from the outset.
00:26However, the story gets its hooks in, and the pace quickly picks up as each mission offers
00:30up a brilliant burst of tight flight combat. It can get a bit overwhelming. Not only is
00:35there a ton happening on screen at once, but you'll need to keep an eye out for so many
00:39threats. One mission sees you having to engage in dogfighting with your rivals, taking out
00:43as many enemy anti-air guns as possible, all while making sure your troops can make their
00:47way into the city unharmed. But overall, Ace Combat 8 is fantastic, and I can see myself
00:52returning to it years down the line when I need my GeForce fix.
