00:00We tested six ways to make a burger.
00:02This is the best.
00:03Every burger that we tested was 80-20, salt and pepper.
00:07We're just looking at cooking methods today.
00:08It's not about seasoning.
00:10This is just methods.
00:11First, we started with a grilled burger.
00:13High heat, three to five minutes on each side,
00:15but keeping the lid open.
00:17Then we went for a grilled burger.
00:19Again, same cooking method, just close the lid.
00:22Closing the lid, you will see that it shrinks, okay?
00:25Because you're kind of almost enforcing all that heat
00:27to stay in the same place
00:28and none of it's really leaking.
00:30It's kind of like reducing a liquid versus steaming.
00:32I'm not a fan of it
00:33because I want to see what's going on.
00:34Next method we tried was the broiled burger.
00:37The 80s were great, but we're not working on a steakhouse.
00:40It's not a very good method to cook a burger.
00:42Then the next burger, air fryer burger.
00:44Obviously, you know I don't know how to use those things,
00:46so I'm definitely not air frying a burger.
00:48However, it did give you a nice meat puff.
00:53Next, my favorite way, the cast iron skillet.
00:57Pan burger, I like to wash the crust.
00:59I like to develop it.
01:00I like to touch it.
01:00I like to see the sides come up.
01:02It's just, to me, it's the true way to make a burger.
01:04The last way, number six, smash burger.
01:07I know, it's everyone's favorite burger.
01:09You smash it down so you get the lacy crispy edges.
01:12We're getting crust.
01:14It wins.
01:15But I like a big juicy, man.
01:17I like a big juicy burger.
01:19What kind of burger do you like?
01:20Let me know.
