00:00The UN's International Maritime Organization is preparing to evacuate more than 11,000 sailors
00:06stranded in the Gulf during the U.S.-Iran conflict.
00:09According to IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez,
00:12the operation will be carried out in phases and in coordination
00:16with Iran, Oman, the United States and other regional partners.
00:21The operation comes as shipping traffic gradually returns to the Strait of Hormuz
00:26following last week's agreement to reopen the waterway.
00:29Data from maritime intelligence firm Kepler shows more than 170 vessels
00:34have transited the Strait in recent days.
00:37However, shipping levels remain below pre-conflict averages,
00:41highlighting continued caution among operators.
00:44To support the recovery of maritime traffic,
00:47Oman said it would keep the Strait open without imposing tolls
00:50and has established temporary shipping corridors to help vessels leave the region safely.
00:55Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio,
00:58who began a golf tour on Tuesday,
01:00said any final agreement with Iran must ensure
01:03Iran does not charge tolls on vessels using the Strait.
