00:00We've got a new trend in drinking that I want to talk to you about because Gen Z is starting
00:05this trend and the rest of the generations are glomming on to it.
00:11And I think that it's kind of fun because there's been a lot of talk about Gen Z not drinking
00:17as much as generations before them.
00:21That's where I thought I was confused by what you were saying.
00:24I was like, I feel like Gen Z is not.
00:25They're not drinking as much, but they're drinking more intentionally.
00:28And so instead of a nightcap, they're going for a daycap, which sounds like it's going to lead you into
00:36drinking even more because they're starting those cocktails earlier in the day.
00:40So rather than finishing your night with a cocktail and then going to bed, right, they're calling it a day.
00:46They're finishing their day.
00:48And before they move into the second part of their day, the evening part, they're having a daycap.
00:54They're having a daycap, one cocktail, socially, and then they move on.
00:59Wow.
01:00I like this.
01:01As I've gotten older, I prefer a drink while the sun is up as opposed to when the sun is
01:06down because I sleep poorly.
01:08If I have alcohol in my system, I wake up sometimes.
01:11Even after one drink, feeling slightly hungover.
01:14It's funny because all the studies show that.
01:16But you still think, but, oh, that drink, it relaxes me.
01:21It makes me calm.
01:22It makes me sleepy.
01:23But you're right.
01:23You might fall asleep quickly.
01:25But then once you're asleep, you're waking up and it could be a fitful night's sleep.
01:31So this new trend is having a daycap.
01:34Yeah, I like this.
01:35And I think we've learned, too, that Gen Z is kind of skipping out on happy hour at the bar
01:42and doing happy hour at a friend's house instead.
01:46So that makes sense.
01:47Like, hey, after work, everyone come over.
01:50Let's sit on my porch and have a drink.
01:52Yeah.
01:53And then you guys can go home.
01:54And then go home.
01:55And binge watch Love Island.
01:57Was that an invite?
01:58Did anybody just hear that?
01:59No, I think I heard that, too.
01:59I think I just heard that.
02:00Yeah, I totally heard that.
02:01All right, so our happy hour, being a part of a morning show, is about 11.30 a.m.
02:07Yeah, we got a couple hours.
02:08I mean, I wasn't waiting that long.
02:09But okay.
02:10But okay.
02:11She's already started.
02:12Is that why you have that flask over there?
02:14It's the summer of Andy Summers, everybody.
02:17Woo!
