00:00And we had movement over the weekend, so we had movement over the weekend, not with Christian
00:03Gonzalez, but Devin Witherspoon out in Seattle, reaching agreement on a four-year, $132 million
00:09contract extension. It includes $101 million in guarantees, average annual value, $33 million,
00:17tops the two-year $62 million deal by Denzel Ward in July, $2 million more annually, $1 million more
00:24guaranteed than Trent McDuffie wound up getting. So that deal gets done out in Seattle. You think
00:29Christian Gonzalez gets done now relatively soon in New England? I do, and I think it'll
00:33be done within the next two weeks, hopefully. Get this done, get this out of the way, let's
00:37get to Seattle and let's play some ball. That's the way I look at it. The parameters are set
00:41now. Say what you want about the number. It comes out to what, 33 and change? Yeah. We've
00:48talked about that. That's kind of the number I thought where you would start. When we looked
00:52at sort of the Sauce Gardner contract, and Quentin Williams just gets done, they extended him
00:57pretty much guaranteed, what, $101 of the $105 million? Something like that, yeah.
01:01All but $4 million. This is what the market is. This is what it is. Obviously, I don't
01:08think anybody wants to pay anybody that type of money, right? I mean, who's really worth
01:11that? But don't fight the market. This is the market. This is what guys get paid now in the
01:17National Football League. Quarterback's going to get paid next year. I mean, this is all starting
01:22to line up, but he's a key thing of what you want to do. He's a key core guy that
01:27you
01:27drafted, you selected, that's played well for you, that is pretty damn good at his damn
01:32gig. Let's face it, Christian's also a very good corner. He's better than Witherspoon,
01:36and he probably should be paid accordingly, according to that. So I want to say that they,
01:42you know, when Burt was talking about these numbers being north of 40, like, get him in
01:48at 34 then, you know, instead of 40. Like, somebody's going to beat this next year, and
01:51somebody's going to beat this after that. You know, and in three years, he's going to
01:55be like 10th on the list. So it is what it is for now, and I know from a business
02:01side
02:01of it, from the team's aspect, you've got to suck it up and say, Jesus, I'm going to
02:04even pay Tom Brady this. This is what it is. You can't hate the league. You can't hate
02:09the market if you're going to play ball and play ball in the market the right way.
02:12I heard this deal. And be a contender. Here's the thing. You're a contender. You're not
02:16Cleveland. You're trying to win Super Bowls right now. And what it does, by not doing
02:20it, it creates more of a distraction.
