04:29Yes sir!
04:31Yes sir!
04:33Okay, a horn
04:34Anybody do a horn?
04:39Колle
04:40Oh that's great guys
04:42You sound marvelous
04:43Fantastic
04:44Spencer, could I have a word with you in my office?
04:47Oh, yeah, sure thing
04:47See you guys
04:50Column
04:53What's up?
04:54Well, I was having a quiet bit of time with the children.
04:58You were? That sounds great.
04:59You know what, Miss Hilly? I feel full of beans today.
05:02I can tell.
05:04So how about I come back to the nursery a bit later
05:06and play lots of funky music with the children?
05:09Ta-da! How does that sound?
05:12Well...
05:12I know, I know. I'll bring along a bunch of kazoos for all the children to play.
05:16Wouldn't that be great?
05:18Spencer...
05:18No, no, no, no. My treat.
05:19I insist.
05:21In fact, I'm off to Penny and Susie's right now to buy everyone kazoos.
05:25See you later, alligator.
05:30I wasn't planning on having a noisy day today.
05:33And kazoos...
05:35Oh, dear.
05:37So, which colored house do you think Spencer will visit first today?
05:47Can you see all the different colored houses sitting by the sea?
05:53Well, there's part of the story in Balamore.
05:56He asks, which is the house for me?
05:59Is it green? Is it red?
06:02Or should I go to the White House instead?
06:05Yellow, pink, orange or blue?
06:07Which colored house am I going to?
06:16Which colored house are we going to?
06:19Tell me what you think?
06:21Which colored house are we going to?
06:24Tell me what do you think?
06:27It's the red house!
06:29Yes, it's the red house.
06:31Because that's where Penny and Susie live.
06:40Boom!
06:41Hi, Penny. I got itchy feet.
06:43Spencer, shh.
06:45I'm trying to add up.
06:47She's trying to add up.
06:49That makes me so glad up.
06:51Two plus two is four.
06:53So stamp down on the floor.
06:56Spencer!
06:57That's me.
06:58Did you want something?
07:00I'm pretty busy here.
07:01Yes, I do want something.
07:03I want lots of kazoos.
07:04One for every kid in the nursery.
07:06Why?
07:07So we can play funky music and dance around the place.
07:11Okay.
07:12Well, I'll get them in a minute.
07:13I just need to finish this.
07:15Okie dokie, Smokey.
07:26No, I give up.
07:29Okay, Spencer.
07:30It looks like the only way I'm going to be able to concentrate is to get your kazoos.
07:34Fine by me.
07:35How many do you want?
07:37Let's see.
07:37Um, I'll take the lot.
07:40Hey, I want this to be the best parade ever.
07:42All of them?
07:43Yes.
07:44Right.
07:45That'll be ten pounds, please.
07:48There you go.
07:51Bye, then.
07:53All right.
07:56Oh, how funky and cool.
07:59That's great.
08:02Spencer, what are you doing?
08:04I'm testing out the kazoos.
08:06Oh, it sounds great, huh?
08:08The kids are going to love them.
08:11Oh, no.
08:16I can hardly hear myself think, what is all this racket?
08:22Spencer, what are you doing?
08:25Just having fun, Susie.
08:29I wonder what this sounds like.
08:33Oh, my, this is dreadful.
08:36You're telling me.
08:40Oh, my.
08:42Would you look at the time?
08:44The time?
08:45Oh, right, yes.
08:47It's time we shut the shop, isn't it?
08:49It certainly is.
08:51You don't normally shut the shop at this time.
08:53Well, today, we have...
08:55Um, today, we have to spring clean the cafe.
08:58Yes.
08:58So, off you go, Spencer.
09:00To call again.
09:01Oh, okay.
09:02Come on.
09:03Away with you.
09:04Bye.
09:05Bye.
09:10Oh, I forgot my kazoos.
09:15The shop is shut.
09:17Penny.
09:18Susie.
09:19Hmm.
09:21Must be out back doing their spring cleaning.
09:23Oh, but I paid for my kazoos,
09:25and now they're locked up inside the shop.
09:27And I need them this afternoon for the children at the nursery.
09:30Something has to be done.
09:32But who in Balamori can help me get my kazoos back?
09:35I know.
09:36PC Plum.
09:38I'm PC Plum, and I'll tell you what I've done.
09:41I've pedaled around this island more than once or twice.
09:46And if you call on me, we can make a cup of tea.
09:50I'll tell you all about the bees and birds and mice.
09:57I'm PC Plum, and I'll tell you who I am.
10:01I'm your policeman, and I'll always be your chum.
10:05With my magnifying glass, I can look between the grass.
10:10And all the tiny beasties, we look at them run.
10:15You can bet you'll see me a-comin'.
10:20On my bike, I'm ridin' round the town.
10:24In the country, I check on all the wildlife.
10:28The people, trees, and animals, I keep them safe and sound.
10:34Safe and sound.
10:38I'm PC Plum.
10:46And what colour are its wing feathers, Roddy?
10:49Brown.
10:50Oh, right, well...
10:53I think you may have a thrush nesting in your hedge.
10:56Yes.
10:56When you don't know what to do,
10:59PC Plum's the man for you.
11:02A lot babadoobah, a lot bam-boom!
11:04Hang on a minute, Roddy.
11:05Spencer, do you mind?
11:06I'm on the phone.
11:07But it's an emergency.
11:08It's urgent.
11:09It's really, really important.
11:11I'll call you back, Roddy.
11:12Just don't touch that nest.
11:14Um, no.
11:15Right.
11:16Okay, Spencer.
11:18What's the story in Balamori?
11:19Well, it's a real humdinger, good buddy.
11:26I called into the nursery full of the joys of spring.
11:29I was clicking and rapping and clapping.
11:32Miss Hooley was kind of funny, really quiet.
11:35She'd been reading the children a story.
11:36But I soon livened up the joint and told her I wanted to have a big music parade with the
11:41kids.
11:43So I went to the shop to buy a bunch of kazoos for everyone to play.
11:48Penny was busy doing some adding up,
11:50so I filled in the time by making some great sounds with the packets on the counter.
11:54Then I guess Penny got fed up with her sums and sold me a box of kazoos.
11:59I had great fun trying one of them out and shaking pasta at the same time.
12:04Susie came in from the kitchen wanting to know what was going on,
12:07so I played some more music for her.
12:10Then they had to shut the shop early for spring cleaning.
12:13So I left.
12:14But I forgot my kazoos.
12:19And that's my problem.
12:21My kazoos are locked up in the shop and I can't get at them.
12:23I see.
12:24Well, you've only yourself to blame.
12:27Huh?
12:27It sounds to me that you haven't been considering other people's feelings.
12:31Haven't I?
12:32How come?
12:33Well, Miss Hooley was trying to tell the children a quiet story
12:36and you burst in being really loud.
12:38Oh, yeah, but...
12:39And then you interrupted Penny when she was concentrating by being really loud.
12:43Yeah, but...
12:44And then you bothered Susie with all your kazoo playing and your pasta shaking.
12:48Yeah, but...
12:48Sounds to me like you have been a noisy nuisance all day.
12:52Oh.
12:53If I behaved like that when I went out bird watching, I wouldn't see anything.
12:57How come?
12:58Because birds are sensitive.
13:00They don't like loud noises.
13:02They'd get frightened.
13:03Oh.
13:04If I crashed around like a noisy elephant,
13:08all the birds would fly away.
13:10Yeah, I guess so.
13:12Maybe I haven't been reading the signs.
13:15Exactly.
13:16If someone wants to be quiet and read a book or do their sums,
13:20they usually don't like to be disturbed.
13:23Oh, boy.
13:25I guess I should have been more sensitive, huh?
13:28Hey, I know.
13:29I'll go around to Miss Hooley and tell her.
13:31And maybe not be so noisy?
13:34Right.
13:37Hey, Spencer.
13:40Gotcha.
13:54I'm rooting at the top of the world.
13:58Shh.
14:01Oh, Spencer.
14:02You've not come to be noisy again, have you?
14:05Oh, no.
14:05I've just come to apologize for being noisier earlier.
14:08Oh.
14:09In fact, I was wondering if there's anything I could do to make it up to you guys.
14:13Well, why don't you tell us all a story?
14:16I can.
14:17I'm going to tell you all a story.
14:19In fact, it's a quiet story.
14:21And it's all about listening, okay?
14:25Kieran loved to stay with his old Granny Murray
14:28who lived in a cottage in the country.
14:30It was really quiet where she lived.
14:33She didn't have a television,
14:35and all her books were thick with words and no pictures.
14:39But Granny Murray loved to tell Kieran's stories
14:43about sounds that they heard as they listened in the quiet.
14:47The tick-tock, tick-tock of the old grandfather clock.
14:54That's right.
14:55They became the footsteps of a boy as he walked along the harbor.
14:59Step, step, step, step, step, step, step to the big sailing ship.
15:05The door creaking became the big sailing ship rocking
15:11as it sailed out to sea.
15:13The rustling of the trees and the breeze,
15:16swish,
15:18became the waves in the sea,
15:20swish,
15:22swish,
15:23as the sailing ship and Kieran
15:25sailed off to sleep
15:27to all the sounds
15:29of the sea.
15:33The end.
15:35Well, dear, did I miss the story?
15:37You did.
15:38It was a nice, quiet and gentle story.
15:41Really?
15:42Ooh.
15:44Then maybe it's the wrong time to bring back these.
15:46What are they?
15:47Spencer's kazoos.
15:48I picked them up from the shop.
15:49Really?
15:50Well, it would be a shame to waste them.
15:53It would, wouldn't it?
15:57Who would like a kazoo?
15:58Me!
16:00Will you come?
16:01I'll get a fallen one.
16:03I'll get a fallen one.
16:04Come on, let me.
16:08Me!
16:10Come on, let me.
16:12Me!
16:15Me!
16:19Me!
16:39So, what was the story in Bala Mori today?
16:46Well, I wanted to have a nice quiet day with the children today.
16:51We started to read a story, but then Spencer arrived being very noisy.
16:56He told me he wanted to play music and march around with the children.
17:01So he went off to see Susie and Penny in the shop.
17:04Penny was busy doing some adding up and she got annoyed when Spencer made loud noises by
17:09shaking the packets on the shelves.
17:11She couldn't concentrate, so she gave up her sums and sold Spencer a box of kazoos.
17:17But then he decided to try one out.
17:20He made such a loud noise.
17:22He even disturbed Susie as she was cooking in the cafe kitchen.
17:27Penny and Susie closed the shop just to get rid of Spencer.
17:32But then he realised he'd left the kazoos in the shop and it was now shut.
17:38Spencer asked PC Plum to help, but PC Plum told Spencer that it was all his own fault for
17:44being so noisy.
17:47So Spencer decided to consider other people's feelings and stop being noisy at the wrong
17:52time.
17:53time.
17:53He told us all a lovely quiet story and then we all marched around playing noisy kazoos.
18:01It was great!
18:07time.
18:07And I'll see you soon as well.
18:09Bye!
18:15Bye!
18:20Bala Mori, Bala Mori
