Kirklees Council are inviting locals to help shape the future of Huddersfield town centre by choosing the name of the brand new public square at the centre of the Our Cultural Heart development.

00:09the name of the square which is at the centre of the Our Cultural Heart development.
00:14The shortlisted names are Mill Frame Square, inspired by Huddersfield's textile past and
00:20with a modern feel, Lion Square based on Huddersfield's long-standing lion symbol, Queensgate Square,
00:28a familiar name that builds on what people may already know, and the fourth choice is
00:33Ramsden Square which recognises the Ramsden family and their role in shaping Huddersfield.
00:39Online voting for the name runs until the 22nd of June.
00:43Elsewhere, Kirklees Council have unveiled Ignition Works as the new identity and vision for the
00:48former Gasworks Street site in Huddersfield.
00:51It marks a major milestone in the site's transformation and the new identity and vision reflects the
00:57ambition to attract private investment and transform the site into a new employment hub,
01:02focused on health innovation, life sciences and advanced manufacturing.
01:07Work has also begun on the ÂŁ28 million transformation of Huddersfield bus station.
01:12The renovation will provide passengers with a modern bus station which is more welcoming and accessible.

01:22Huddersfield to support traders and visitors as the regeneration programme of the town's historic market
