00:00Plans have been announced to redevelop a popular community centre in Blakennall in Walsall.
00:06The Blakennall Community Centre, also known as Palace Play Shop Eat, is set to undergo a major refurbishment.
00:13Funding has been secured from the government's Towns Deal programme, New Horizons and Walsall Council.
00:20The centre, built in the 1980s, is operated by Bloxwich Community Partnership.
00:25Planned improvements include modernised spaces, a new entrance and reception area, youth facilities, a children's play area and improved accessibility.
00:36Council leaders say the new investment will support families, young people and community groups who continue to use the centre every week.
