00:00What brings you out tonight?
00:02Well, we're nominated for best throwback song.
00:07Yeah, which is kind of weird.
00:09It's weird, but okay.
00:11Why is it weird?
00:14Well, because it's an old song.
00:18But, you know, I mean, and generally, you know,
00:21award ceremonies and things like that are generally about the latest flavor,
00:26you know, and all the newest, latest, greatest artists, you know, and that.
00:32And, you know, we're veterans.
00:35It was hard for us to share our parents' music with our parents, you know.
00:40It's not hard for kids these days to share their music with their parents.
00:45So, you know, there's multi-generational stuff going on.
00:48Yeah, it's pretty cool to, like, we play five shows a week.
00:52And it's like to see a 16-year-old kid singing that song with their friends
00:59at one of our shows, and then their parents are there with them.
01:03It's kind of like.
01:04And they bring their parents sometimes.
01:06It's pretty great.
01:07Yeah, the other night, 87-year-old woman, you know, at the show,
01:12and then 10-year-old kid, you know what I mean?
01:15You're doing something right.
01:16We brought her back to our dressing room.
01:18That's how our lives have changed.
01:19We're bringing back 97-year-old grandmothers to our dressing room.
01:23Grandma to the dressing room.
01:26Gave her a bottle of water, hung out and talked.
01:29Some tea.
01:29Just chatted.
01:31Who were some of the younger artists that you're listening to that's impressing you?
01:36Well, somber.
01:37I also, I mean, I don't know if they're that young, but compared to us they are.
01:42You know, like 21 Pilots is really great.
01:45And who else?
01:46Yeah, let's see, Alex Warren gets played in my house a lot, you know.
01:51Oh, and Jesse Wells.
01:53Love Jesse Wells.
01:55So good.
01:56Bravest kid out there.
01:58He's the voice of his generation.
01:59He's the Bob Dylan of his generation.
02:02Taylor Swift has the most nominations tonight.
02:05Are you Swifties?
02:07Well, we have daughters.
02:08And yes, and let me tell you why I'm a Swifty, okay?
02:12Because when all the other great female artists were like going out and starting clothing lines
02:19and makeup lines and all that other stuff, she went out to the woods and doubled down on her songwriting
02:27and put out three incredible records that are undeniable, undeniable.
02:34That's why I respect her.
02:36You're a Swifty.
02:36Yeah, I guess so.
