AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno says the first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, Arthur, will form along the Texas coast this Wednesday, dumping heavy rain and causing widespread flooding.

00:00We are expecting the first tropical storm of the season Wednesday morning.
00:05It will occur along the middle Texas coast.
00:07Its name will be Arthur.
00:09Arthur will parallel the Texas coast Wednesday before making landfall across southwest Louisiana Wednesday night.
00:16The biggest impacts from Arthur is going to be from the upper Texas coast in the Louisiana.
00:23And while there will be a storm surge of a few feet and there can be some strong thunderstorms and
00:28gusty winds,
00:29the big impact is going to be the flooding rain on areas that have already been saturated with rain.
00:37We have that dark green area is 8 to 12 inches with an AccuWeather local storm max of 20 inches,
00:43which means there can be widespread flooding in that area.
