00:29Today the finale of this three-game weekend set, it's the Tampa Bay Rays taking on the
00:34New York Yankees.

00:46And going to the mound in this one for the Yankees, Cam Schlittler.
00:50Tell us about him in that sub-three ERA, Siggy.
00:54Well, anytime you can keep your ERA under three, you're doing a lot of things right and you're
00:59putting your team in a position to win a lot of ball games as well.
01:03And he's doing tremendous out there on the mound.
01:05Every time he gets the ball, you expect him to go out there and dominate.
01:08And that's what he's been to this point.
01:10We'll see how he is today.

01:33All right, let's take a look at the Rays lineup.
01:36And something they've talked about needing to improve on moving forward is their ability
01:41to apply consistent pressure, Chris.
01:43Right now, it's not a club that gets on base enough.
01:46You know, sometimes, Boog, you need someone to grind out an 11 or 12 pitch at bat just to
01:52energize the team.
01:53That can lead to getting runners on, collecting a few big hits, and scoring more runs.
02:00DeLuca, it is third season, batting second in today's lineup, usually in center field,
02:05but today starting in left.
02:11Fastball for a strike.
02:13One thing I always felt if I played left field instead of center field was that the ball gets
02:17out there to you pretty quick, and the most important play is that ball down the left
02:21field line, getting to it, cutting it off, making a strong throw to keep that single
02:25instead of turning it into a double.

05:03He knows he needs to miss barrels, get some soft contact, let the defense do work behind him.
05:08And I think a guy like that can keep a good tempo, don't give hitters time to adjust or think.
05:13They can move through a ball game and you look up, they're in line for a quality start.
05:18We'll see what he's got in this one.

05:36As we take a look now at the New York Yankees lineup.
05:40And a big factor for them in recent games, Trent Grisham.

05:45He's got great power just to every section of the ballpark, man.
05:48I love watching guys like this who can give it a ride to the opposite field or go dead center.
05:53I mean, that's really hitting.
05:54When you can hit and drive the ball up the middle the other way, look out.

06:07Throughout history, the fastball down has been the most successful pitch.

16:29off of it that's the key you still have to extend through the baseball in order to

16:56tanks from third in from third is the tying run that play really shows how important it is to hit

17:08backfired and it ended up costing them a run I remember my rookie year overthrowing a
17:13cutoff man didn't last long before I was pulled aside by a veteran pitcher he had a
17:18talk with me I don't know if I ever missed a cutoff man again
17:30runner on the goal pitch in for a strike safe in second with a stolen base
17:40Chris's wheels with a difference maker on that plate just got in there yeah with stat cast help we see
17:46his top speed on this stolen base and that's a big number me man he really made his athleticism work
17:53for him on that one man it's second down low it kicks away throw into third tag see he's in
18:01the
18:01third of the wild pitch well that right there can be a tough read as a runner on second to
18:06see if the
18:06ball's gotten away enough to move to third you have to be sure you can make it because you're already
18:11in
18:11scoring position well he was sure there and now he's only 90 feet away from scoring

18:22triple digits on the gun I know there are more pictures that can reach that now than in the past
18:27but it's still impressive to watch

24:47well these rays just lacking discipline at the plate in this ball game they're chasing a lot
24:51of pitches outside the zone and those chases that are turning into a bunch of outs can they turn that
24:56around and stay within the zone we'll see but i think they have to

27:52it's pretty special stuff not so good if you're out there on the mound
