Philosopher Stefan Molyneux talks about letting idiots win in this 12 June 2026 livestream, arguing that backing down from bad-faith fights, avoiding drama, and teaching kids situational awareness keeps you safe while people who can't control themselves just try to control others. He grounds this in UPB and the fact that moral claims must match reality, so skip the pride and escalation.

00:00:01Good evening, good evening, good evening, my friends.
00:00:04Welcome to the 12th of June, 2026.
00:00:07It is time for our Friday Night Live.
00:00:10And it is time...
00:00:15Vindication time!
00:00:16Come on!
00:00:17It's time for vindication.
00:00:18I guess two little things.
00:00:19Two little things.
00:00:20One, do you remember that brave young Scottish woman with the two-hand axes
00:00:25who was trying to protect her friends from the immigrant sexual assaults?
00:00:29Well, she's been vindicated in court,
00:00:31and it turns out that they were monsters who were preying upon children,
00:00:35and so that's been vindicated.
00:00:37Also, Tulsi Gabbard has just declassified documents
00:00:41which apparently show that the U.S. had, ooh, maybe up to 20,
00:00:47maybe 22 biolabs in Ukraine.
00:00:50So, I mean, imagine if Russia or North Korea
00:00:54was opening a bunch of biolabs
00:00:58just over the border in Mexico.
00:01:01I mean, some pretty hinky stuff was going on
00:01:02at the Canadian biolabs in Winnipeg.
00:01:04That's a topic for another time.
00:01:05But imagine if the mortal enemy
00:01:09of
00:01:11the United States,
00:01:12which had constantly
00:01:14lusted and thirsted for its destruction,
00:01:16was opening up a bunch of
00:01:17bio-slash-bioweapons labs
00:01:19right over the border.
00:01:20You don't think America would do something?
00:01:23I mean, they're freaking out over,
00:01:24even though there was a fight against nuclear weapons
00:01:26about Iran
00:01:28potentially having nuclear weapons.
00:01:30What about actual real biolabs
00:01:32right across the border?
00:01:34You don't think America would do something?
00:01:35But we can't ever trust the Ruskies, you know?
00:01:38Can't ever trust the Ruskies.
00:01:43Two things in which I was correct
00:01:49to prognosticate on
00:01:52and was hammered, of course, at the time
00:01:54for talking about.
00:01:57And, oh, I'm sure
00:02:00that all of my restitution...
00:02:01Hang on.
00:02:02Oh, I may just wet finger the wind here.
00:02:04Mmm, mmm, mmm.
00:02:06Tastes like coffee.
00:02:07So, I'm absolutely positive, though,
00:02:10that all of the people
00:02:12who said,
00:02:13it's a filthy lie,
00:02:14any of these things are filthy,
00:02:16so de-platform him
00:02:17and get rid of him
00:02:18and all of that.
00:02:20No, also Dr. Fauci,
00:02:21as far as I understand it,
00:02:23was also being briefed
00:02:24on the potential
00:02:25or significant possibility
00:02:26of the lab origins of COVID
00:02:29in Wuhan.
00:02:30Do you remember
00:02:31how the virus just kind of
00:02:34popped into existence
00:02:35about 400 feet
00:02:36from the early bioweapons lab
00:02:38in the region?
00:02:39Yeah, strange that way.
00:02:40No, no, no.
00:02:40It came from bats
00:02:42800 kilometers away.
00:02:43Yeah, because, you know,
00:02:44bats fly 800 kilometers.
00:02:46They're like migratory birds.
00:02:49They're like all of those butterflies
00:02:51that go down
00:02:51to the giant trees in Mexico.
00:02:53They just float around.
00:02:55They just float around.
00:02:57So, anyway,
00:02:58I would like to get your questions.
00:03:00Richard, I would love
00:03:01to chat with you again.
00:03:02Give me just a minute or two on.
00:03:03I never get to the text questions,
00:03:04which is kind of rude.
00:03:06Kind of rude.
00:03:07So, I'm sorry about that.
00:03:08I do want to get
00:03:09to the text questions.
00:03:10Feel free to throw them in.
00:03:12Good evening.
00:03:12Good evening.
00:03:14Everybody.
00:03:15Everybody.
00:03:17So,
00:03:19one person asks,
00:03:20how do you bridge
00:03:21Hume's
00:03:22is-ought gap?
00:03:25Hume said
00:03:26that to him
00:03:26it was inconceivable
00:03:27how you could possibly
00:03:28argue logically
00:03:29from what you experience
00:03:30to how you think
00:03:31that experience
00:03:31ought to be.
00:03:33So,
00:03:34I, of course,
00:03:35have
00:03:36an entire
00:03:37History of Philosophers
00:03:38series
00:03:38available to donors.
00:03:40I think it's 23 or 24
00:03:41major philosophers
00:03:43up to,
00:03:44but not including,
00:03:45Immanuel Kant.
00:03:47Couldn't quite get to Kant.
00:03:49Quite get to couldn't.
00:03:51And
00:03:53one of them,
00:03:54of course,
00:03:54is Hume.
00:03:55And you should check this out
00:03:56for donors
00:03:57if you subscribe

00:04:03all of these
00:04:04tasty shows.
00:04:06Oh,
00:04:06not to forget
00:04:07Sunday morning,
00:04:08Sunday morning,
00:04:0911 a.m.
00:04:10It is,
00:04:11you know,
00:04:12I like to branch out
00:04:13a little bit,
00:04:14burst into song
00:04:14from time to time.
00:04:15I'm working on
00:04:16some cat's eye dances
00:04:17and also
00:04:19makeup tutorials.
00:04:20Apparently,
00:04:21they're quite a thing.
00:04:22Making bird hands
00:04:24in sunglasses
00:04:25in cars
00:04:26with way too much makeup
00:04:27complaining about men,
00:04:27number one.
00:04:28Number two,
00:04:29makeup tutorials
00:04:31are quite the thing.
00:04:32The last makeup tutorial
00:04:34that we did
00:04:35where I ended up
00:04:36with a second head
00:04:37on my head
00:04:38was very popular.
00:04:40And so,
00:04:41by popular demand,
00:04:42by request,
00:04:44we are now having
00:04:46what will be truly
00:04:47a revelatory
00:04:51exegesis
00:04:52of the makeup tutorial phenomenon.
00:04:55and my daughter
00:04:55will be joining us
00:04:56this Sunday,
00:04:57Sunday morning.
00:04:59And
00:05:01we will be doing makeup.
00:05:02And what that means
00:05:03is she has
00:05:07she's ordered
00:05:08a bunch of stuff.
00:05:11She's ordered
00:05:12a bunch of stuff.
00:05:13And
00:05:15I will confess
00:05:16to being
00:05:16minorly alarmed,
00:05:17which is probably
00:05:18an underreaction,
00:05:20but
00:05:20she has ordered
00:05:21a bunch of stuff
00:05:22which she will be
00:05:23applying
00:05:25to me.
00:05:26I think
00:05:26in layers,
00:05:27I think
00:05:28including
00:05:28sandblasters
00:05:29and rollerblades.
00:05:32She will be
00:05:33applying that.
00:05:34It could be
00:05:34a
00:05:36Bugsy Malone
00:05:37spaghetti cannon
00:05:37or pie cannon.
00:05:39It could be
00:05:39something like that.
00:05:40I assume
00:05:41I will be
00:05:41fairly unrecognizable
00:05:42at the end of it,
00:05:43which means
00:05:44there's a possibility
00:05:45I may be
00:05:46returning to my youth
00:05:48this
00:05:50Sunday morning
00:05:50at 11 a.m.
00:05:51I hope
00:05:51you will
00:05:51come by.
00:05:53She is
00:05:53very funny
00:05:54and
00:05:54it's going
00:05:55to be
00:05:56most enjoyable
00:05:57and also
00:05:57I get to
00:05:58do her
00:05:58makeup.
00:05:59And
00:05:59I've
00:05:59warned her
00:06:00ahead of
00:06:00time
00:06:00that
00:06:01I will
00:06:01not
00:06:02try to
00:06:02make her
00:06:02look bad.
00:06:03I have
00:06:03a little
00:06:03bit of
00:06:03makeup
00:06:04experience
00:06:04because
00:06:04of course

00:19:40gravity
00:19:40we don't
00:19:41blame
00:19:41the
00:19:41rock
00:19:41she
00:19:41falls
00:19:42on
00:19:42we blame
00:19:44Bob
00:19:44for pushing
00:19:45Jane
00:19:45off a
00:19:45cliff
00:19:46we blame
00:19:46him
00:19:46for that
00:19:47we say
00:19:47you shouldn't
00:19:47have done
00:19:47that
00:19:48if somebody
00:19:48steals
00:19:48from you
00:19:49you say
00:19:49you ought
00:19:50not
00:19:50have
00:19:51stolen
00:19:51now
00:19:54you would
00:19:55say
00:19:55well
00:19:55so the
00:19:56property
00:19:56right
00:19:57I don't
00:19:57know
00:19:57a pair
00:19:58of glasses
00:19:58you steal
00:19:58my glasses
00:19:59because
00:19:59whatever
00:20:00right
00:20:00you want
00:20:01to see
00:20:01better
00:20:02so you
00:20:03steal
00:20:03my glasses
00:20:03and so
00:20:04the atoms
00:20:05and energy
00:20:06that represent
00:20:07my glasses
00:20:07are not
00:20:08here
00:20:08they're
00:20:08over there
00:20:08right
00:20:09the atoms
00:20:09have moved
00:20:10and I say
00:20:11you shouldn't
00:20:12have stolen
00:20:12okay
00:20:13but where
00:20:13where in
00:20:14the glasses
00:20:15is the
00:20:15ought not
00:20:17nowhere
00:20:18it's a human
00:20:19convention
00:20:20and that
00:20:21seems to
00:20:21make it
00:20:22subjective
00:20:22like I
00:20:23like
00:20:24blue
00:20:24and
00:20:25tanners
00:20:28so
00:20:30how do
00:20:30we solve
00:20:31it
00:20:32and
00:20:35yeah
00:20:36you do
00:20:36have the
00:20:36best dreams
00:20:40somebody
00:20:40somebody
00:20:41had a
00:20:41dream
00:20:41where
00:20:42they
00:20:42referred
00:20:43to
00:20:43my
00:20:44concubines
00:20:48and
00:20:48of course
00:20:49I'm
00:20:50just so
00:20:50dimple
00:20:51cheeked
00:20:52halo
00:20:53naive
00:20:54concubines
00:20:55isn't that
00:20:55what you
00:20:56get wheat
00:20:57off a
00:20:57farmer's
00:20:57field
00:20:57in
00:20:58concubine
00:20:59harvester
00:20:59is that
00:21:00right
00:21:00I think
00:21:00that's
00:21:00right
00:21:01oh
00:21:01concubines
00:21:03see
00:21:03nobody
00:21:04who says
00:21:04oh
00:21:04concubines
00:21:05actually has
00:21:06a concubine
00:21:06is a basic
00:21:07fact of
00:21:07nature
00:21:08like gravity
00:21:10so
00:21:14the answer
00:21:15is
00:21:16if you
00:21:16say
00:21:17you cannot
00:21:18get an
00:21:18ought from
00:21:18an is
00:21:19then anyone
00:21:19who tries
00:21:20to get an
00:21:20ought from
00:21:21an is
00:21:21is incorrect
00:21:22and that's
00:21:23your first
00:21:23rule
00:21:24it's like
00:21:24saying
00:21:24nothing is
00:21:25true
00:21:25well is
00:21:25that true
00:21:26yes
00:21:26well then
00:21:26something
00:21:27is true
00:21:28so
00:21:29if I
00:21:30say
00:21:30you can
00:21:31get an
00:21:31ought from
00:21:31an is
00:21:33and
00:21:34Hume
00:21:34says
00:21:35no you
00:21:35can't
00:21:35then he's
00:21:36giving me
00:21:36an ought
00:21:37from an
00:21:37is
00:21:37which is
00:21:38there is
00:21:38not
00:21:39an ought
00:21:40in the
00:21:41is
00:21:41therefore
00:21:41you shouldn't
00:21:41say that
00:21:42there is
00:21:42and what
00:21:42that means
00:21:43is that
00:21:44concepts
00:21:45in the
00:21:45mind
00:21:45have to
00:21:46accurately
00:21:46represent
00:21:47things in
00:21:47the
00:21:48universe
00:21:53concepts
00:21:54in the
00:21:54mind
00:21:54have to
00:21:56accurately
00:21:56represent
00:21:57things
00:21:58in
00:21:59the
00:22:00universe
00:22:02now
00:22:02they don't
00:22:03have to
00:22:05like
00:22:06gravity
00:22:06gravity is
00:22:07kind of a
00:22:08have to
00:22:08it's an
00:22:08absolute
00:22:09in the
00:22:09universe
00:22:09so
00:22:10if I
00:22:10pick this
00:22:10up
00:22:11and I
00:22:11say
00:22:11watch me
00:22:12eat
00:22:13this
00:22:14kumquat
00:22:16that's
00:22:17such a
00:22:17fun word
00:22:17to say
00:22:18and I
00:22:19feel it
00:22:19should only
00:22:19be said
00:22:20on only
00:22:20fans
00:22:22come
00:22:23watch me
00:22:23eat
00:22:23this
00:22:23kumquat
00:22:24right
00:22:25and I
00:22:25try and
00:22:26eat it
00:22:26well
00:22:26I mean
00:22:27correct
00:22:27this is
00:22:27my
00:22:28glass
00:22:28is
00:22:28not
00:22:28a
00:22:28kumquat
00:22:29so
00:22:30I
00:22:31may
00:22:31see
00:22:32my
00:22:32inner
00:22:32life
00:22:32more
00:22:32vividly
00:22:33but I
00:22:33will
00:22:34not
00:22:34gain
00:22:34any
00:22:34vitamin
00:22:35C
00:22:38so
00:22:41if I'm
00:22:42going to
00:22:42claim that
00:22:42something is
00:22:43true
00:22:43it almost
00:22:44sounds like
00:22:44a tautology
00:22:45but it's
00:22:45not
00:22:45if I'm
00:22:46going to
00:22:46claim that
00:22:46something is
00:22:46true
00:22:47then it
00:22:47has to
00:22:47be
00:22:47true
00:22:50now
00:22:51there's
00:22:51no is
00:22:51ought
00:22:52in the
00:22:52dreams
00:22:53that we
00:22:53have
00:22:54if I
00:22:55had a
00:22:55dream
00:22:55last night
00:22:56that I'm
00:22:56riding a
00:22:57flying
00:22:57giraffe
00:22:58over
00:22:59I love
00:23:00that line
00:23:00from
00:23:01one of the
00:23:02last
00:23:02Duran Duran
00:23:03songs
00:23:04come undone
00:23:04lost in a
00:23:06snow filled
00:23:06sky
00:23:07I don't know
00:23:07why I just love
00:23:08that line
00:23:08lost in a
00:23:09snow filled
00:23:09so vivid
00:23:10it's actually a
00:23:11pretty good
00:23:11poet
00:23:11the writer
00:23:12for them
00:23:12Simon
00:23:13Lebon
00:23:15also became
00:23:16a sailor
00:23:17did he become a
00:23:18sailor
00:23:18am I on a
00:23:19drug dream
00:23:19anyway
00:23:19so if I'm
00:23:20riding a
00:23:21flying giraffe
00:23:21lost in a
00:23:22snow filled
00:23:23sky
00:23:24I'll make
00:23:25it all
00:23:25right
00:23:27there's no
00:23:27ought or
00:23:28is in the
00:23:28dreams
00:23:28it just
00:23:29is
00:23:29like ought
00:23:30he'd have
00:23:30been a
00:23:31flying hippo
00:23:31no there's
00:23:32no ought
00:23:33because it's
00:23:33all self
00:23:33generated
00:23:34but the
00:23:34moment you're
00:23:35going to
00:23:35try and
00:23:35map
00:23:35mental
00:23:36concepts
00:23:37ideas in
00:23:38the mind
00:23:38to things
00:23:39in reality
00:23:40then they
00:23:40have to be
00:23:41accurate
00:23:41if you're
00:23:42saying that
00:23:42they're
00:23:42true
00:23:42right
00:23:43so I
00:23:43have my
00:23:44little
00:23:45lip balm
00:23:45here
00:23:46because I
00:23:46have
00:23:47lips
00:23:48as dry
00:23:48as a
00:23:49horrified
00:23:49virgins
00:23:52where do
00:23:53these things
00:23:53come from
00:23:54I don't
00:23:54know
00:23:56so if I
00:23:57say this
00:23:58is a
00:23:59flashlight
00:23:59it's not
00:24:00right
00:24:00it's not
00:24:01even a
00:24:01pretend
00:24:01flashlight
00:24:02that's
00:24:02mimicking
00:24:03as I
00:24:03can open
00:24:04it up
00:24:04have a
00:24:05look
00:24:05there's
00:24:05my
00:24:07beeswax
00:24:07lip balm
00:24:11so if I
00:24:12say this
00:24:13is a
00:24:13flashlight
00:24:13it is
00:24:14not a
00:24:14flashlight
00:24:14so
00:24:16the fact
00:24:17that it
00:24:17is a
00:24:18lip balm
00:24:18does not
00:24:18mean that
00:24:19I have
00:24:19to call
00:24:19it a
00:24:20lip balm
00:24:20in the
00:24:20same way
00:24:20that it's
00:24:21subject to
00:24:22gravity
00:24:22right up
00:24:22down subject
00:24:23to gravity
00:24:23as my
00:24:24ass is
00:24:25a little
00:24:25bit more
00:24:26every year
00:24:26how often
00:24:27do you
00:24:27weigh yourself
00:24:27just by the
00:24:28bar I'm
00:24:28going to post
00:24:29this on
00:24:29x I was
00:24:29just kind
00:24:30of curious
00:24:30about this
00:24:30I used
00:24:31to weigh
00:24:31myself
00:24:31more but
00:24:32then I
00:24:33realized it
00:24:33was just
00:24:33shallow
00:24:34vanity
00:24:34and now
00:24:35I will
00:24:35wear myself
00:24:35twice a
00:24:36year
00:24:37I do
00:24:37the belt
00:24:37test
00:24:38do my
00:24:38belt
00:24:38loop
00:24:38still work
00:24:39I just
00:24:40weigh myself
00:24:40twice a
00:24:40year
00:24:41so
00:24:43the is
00:24:44ought
00:24:44dichotomy
00:24:46if
00:24:46right
00:24:47there has
00:24:47to be

00:24:48right
00:24:49you don't
00:24:49have to

00:24:53you don't

00:24:59stable
00:24:59you know
00:25:00these are
00:25:00the things
00:25:00you've
00:25:00got to
00:25:00breathe

00:29:32people
00:29:32can't

00:29:33universally
00:29:34preferable
00:29:34behavior
00:29:34without
00:29:35invoking
00:29:35universally
00:29:36preferable
00:29:36behavior
00:29:37if
00:29:37they
00:29:37say
00:29:37Steph
00:29:38you
00:29:38should
00:29:38not
00:29:38promote
00:29:39universally
00:29:40preferable
00:29:40behavior
00:29:40because
00:29:41universally
00:29:42preferable
00:29:42behavior
00:29:42is
00:29:43false
00:29:43then
00:29:44they're
00:29:44saying
00:29:44it is
00:29:45universally
00:29:45preferable
00:29:46behavior
00:29:46to
00:29:47promote
00:29:48true
00:29:48theories
00:29:48and not promote false theories, right?
00:29:51So you can't argue against universally preferable behavior.
00:29:55It's like coming up to me and saying,
00:29:57Steph, I'm telling you, you don't exist and language has no meaning.
00:30:02I had this debate just this last week
00:30:04with a guy who gave me intellectual hives.
00:30:07You know, you just get this creepy sense
00:30:08that you're dealing with a crazy, manipulative person.
00:30:10That was my experience.
00:30:11It's out there for donors.
00:30:13It'll go out this weekend, I think.
00:30:14Well, worth listening to, to know when to bail.
00:30:17Well, when to fold them.
00:30:20So you can't argue against universally preferable behavior.
00:30:25You can't argue against property rights
00:30:27because property says, I own myself, you own yourself,
00:30:30and we own the effects of our actions.
00:30:32So if I'm arguing for property and you argue back and you say,
00:30:36Steph, your argument for property is wrong.
00:30:38It's like you just affirmed my entire argument for property.
00:30:43So you just got to freeze frame debates and say,
00:30:45okay, what are all the implicit premises embedded in having a debate?
00:30:50Right?
00:30:52If somebody says to me,
00:30:55Steph, your argument that we own the effects of our actions is wrong.
00:31:00I say, well, whose argument is that?
00:31:02Oh, right, my argument.
00:31:03Therefore, I own the effects of my actions.
00:31:05My argument.
00:31:07Right?
00:31:08You can't argue against UPB.
00:31:10You can't argue against property rights
00:31:13without affirming UPB and affirming property rights.
00:31:17You can't do it.
00:31:19And once you, and I know this takes a little while to massage into the brain
00:31:22because we're looking for some external thing
00:31:24with no reference to what we're doing.
00:31:27This is an example I made like 20 years ago.
00:31:31If I write you a letter saying,
00:31:35letters never get delivered to the right person,
00:31:38I've just detonated my own argument.
00:31:41Because, obviously, if I believe that letters never get addressed to the right person,
00:31:46I wouldn't write you a letter.
00:31:47But the fact that I've written you a letter
00:31:49on the assumption it gets delivered to the right person
00:31:51and the content of the letter
00:31:54is that
00:31:56letters never get delivered to the right person,
00:31:58then the form of the argument contradicts the content of the argument.
00:32:01And that's, I made this 15 years ago.
00:32:03I said this is one of my big contributions to philosophy.
00:32:06It's saying, forget about the content of the argument.
00:32:09Everyone wants to just start engaging with the content of the argument.
00:32:12That's jumping into philosophy midstream, as Ayn Rand used to say.
00:32:17Forget the content of the argument.
00:32:19Look at all of the premises embedded in the form of the argument.
00:32:23Somebody argues with me and says,
00:32:25I don't believe that you exist.
00:32:26Well, then, if you don't believe that I exist,
00:32:28why would you argue with me?
00:32:29If somebody says to me,
00:32:30the senses are invalid,
00:32:33then I would say,
00:32:34why are you using the senses
00:32:36to transmit the idea that the senses are invalid?
00:32:38Because you're requiring my ears to work
00:32:40or my eyes to read.
00:32:42And, therefore,
00:32:43you are relying upon the validity of the senses
00:32:45to argue that the senses are invalid.
00:32:47Right?
00:32:54Somebody can't say language is meaningless.
00:32:58Language is meaningless.
00:33:00Language is meaningless is taking
00:33:04the written and verbal form,
00:33:06I guess it could be sign form as well, braille form,
00:33:08forms of human communication
00:33:09and saying that all forms of communication
00:33:11cannot convey any meaning.
00:33:13And the meaning that I'm using human communication to convey
00:33:15is that human communication cannot convey any meaning.
00:33:19That's a contradictory statement.
00:33:21And you don't argue the content.
00:33:25Right?
00:33:26You argue the form first.
00:33:29Because people will always use the form.
00:33:31It's like counterfeit currency, right?
00:33:33People will try to use the form of the argument
00:33:35to dismantle the possibility of argumentation.
00:33:38But if you're going to tell me,
00:33:40Steph, UPB is wrong
00:33:41and you should stop promoting it,
00:33:43then you've just affirmed UPB.
00:33:44Now, you haven't affirmed all of my moral arguments,
00:33:46but the moment someone corrects you,
00:33:48they're saying it's infinitely preferable
00:33:50to say things that are true,
00:33:52valid, accurate, logical, whatever you say.
00:33:56It's infinitely preferable to say true things
00:34:00than to say false things.
00:34:01So that's UPB.
00:34:03Truth is preferable to error.
00:34:06The moment someone corrects you,
00:34:07the moment someone debates you,
00:34:08the moment someone uses language.
00:34:11Right?
00:34:11Because if they say language is
00:34:13a terrible form of communication,
00:34:15I'd say, okay, then give me your argument mentally.
00:34:17Give me your argument without using language, right?
00:34:23Thank you, John John.
00:34:25I appreciate the tip.
00:34:26I really do.
00:34:27I really do.
00:34:28Just like Socrates himself,
00:34:30working for tips.
00:34:31Coffee and lunch.
00:34:32Well, I guess there was no coffee
00:34:34back in ancient Greece, was there?
00:34:37South America, Africa.
00:34:40I know, Ethiopian coffee can be pretty good.
00:34:42It's a little dry.
00:34:44Anyway, so, yeah, so that's how you get out of it.
00:34:48Now, once you say that the ought is in the relationship
00:34:53between the mind and reality,
00:34:56if you want to say things that are true,
00:34:59then they have to correspond with reason and evidence.
00:35:04That's the ought.
00:35:05The ought is statements claim to be true ought to be true.
00:35:11You say, ah, but you can claim things to be true
00:35:13and have to be false.
00:35:14Sure, absolutely.
00:35:16But then everybody knows that they're false, right?
00:35:19So that's better.
00:35:20That's an improvement.
00:35:21So,
00:35:23the is-ought is in the relationship
00:35:25between the mind
00:35:26and things in reality.
00:35:29Universally preferable behavior
00:35:30can never be overturned
00:35:37because any attempt to overturn
00:35:39universally preferable behavior
00:35:41requires an acceptance
00:35:42of universally preferable behavior.
00:35:44You cannot argue
00:35:45against universally preferable behavior.
00:35:47And so then,
00:35:49universally preferable behavior exists.
00:35:51We just have to define it.
00:35:52It exists and it's valid
00:35:53because you can't argue against it.
00:35:54Now, some people can think,
00:35:56oh, that's wrong.
00:35:56But even if they say
00:35:57that's wrong in their mind,
00:35:58they're still violating UPB.
00:36:01So,
00:36:02no, sorry,
00:36:02they're still affirming UPB.
00:36:04So then we,
00:36:05all we have to do
00:36:07since the ought
00:36:08exists in the relationship
00:36:09between things in the mind
00:36:10and things in the world
00:36:11and universally preferable behavior
00:36:13is a valid concept,
00:36:15all we have to do
00:36:15is define
00:36:16what universally preferable behavior is.
00:36:18That's all.
00:36:21It's real.
00:36:22It's valid.
00:36:23We just have to define what it is.
00:36:25And then that's the
00:36:27four major proofs
00:36:28against rape, theft, assault, murder
00:36:29that are in the book.
00:36:30So,
00:36:31I hope that helps.
00:36:32Thank you so much
00:36:33for a great question.
00:36:34All right.
00:36:35Let us
00:36:37get to
00:36:39a call there.
00:36:41Also,
00:36:41call.freedomain.com
00:36:42call.freedomain.com
00:36:46I know some people
00:36:47have been missing calls lately.
00:36:49I've set up something
00:36:50where you get text reminders
00:36:51because, you know,
00:36:52different time zones and so on,
00:36:53people get confused.
00:36:55So,
00:36:58yes,
00:36:59Richard,
00:37:00you had
00:37:02I'm sorry
00:37:03I didn't get you last time.
00:37:04I'm always
00:37:05what's up, mate.
00:37:06Hey,
00:37:06Stefan.
00:37:07How are you doing, man?
00:37:08Well, how are you doing?
00:37:09I'm fantastic, thanks.
00:37:12I'm not fantastic.
00:37:12Well, I might be fantastic,
00:37:13but, yeah,
00:37:14my life is pretty good.
00:37:16Thanks.
00:37:17Anyway,
00:37:17thanks so much
00:37:18for the explication
00:37:19on UPB there
00:37:21versus
00:37:23non-reality.
00:37:25It's really awesome.
00:37:26Thank you so much for that.
00:37:27I did post a question.
00:37:29I don't know if you read it
00:37:31with respect to
00:37:32the scientific method
00:37:34and UPB,
00:37:35but anyway,
00:37:36I have a comment
00:37:38to make on
00:37:39the Camelo Anthony
00:37:41podcast.
00:37:42I just finished.
00:37:42Well, hang on, sorry.
00:37:43What was your question
00:37:43about UPB and science?
00:37:45I'm sure we can
00:37:45test it pretty quick.
00:37:47Yeah,
00:37:47I posted something.
00:37:48I posted a comment on X.
00:37:50I'm not really on X
00:37:51very much.
00:37:52Oh, on X.
00:37:52Sorry,
00:37:52I thought you meant here.
00:37:54No, yeah,
00:37:54I did post a comment
00:37:55on X
00:37:57a few days ago
00:37:58and I just commented
00:38:00that
00:38:03the correspondence
00:38:04between
00:38:05UPB
00:38:06and the scientific method
00:38:07were basically
00:38:09proofs,
00:38:11you know,
00:38:12additional proofs.
00:38:13You've already made
00:38:13the argument
00:38:13for the proof of UPB
00:38:15and I totally agree
00:38:15with that,
00:38:16but then I just commented
00:38:17that, you know,
00:38:18the scientific method
00:38:19corresponds perfectly
00:38:21with UPB
00:38:22given the fact
00:38:23that the scientific method
00:38:25would not exist
00:38:26if it weren't
00:38:26for the necessity
00:38:28of truth.
00:38:31Anyway.
00:38:32Yes,
00:38:32I'm sorry,
00:38:33just to point out something
00:38:34and hold your thought
00:38:35for a second there.
00:38:36So,
00:38:37science requires
00:38:37that if you're going to
00:38:38say something true
00:38:39and valid about the universe,
00:38:40it has to conform
00:38:41to reason
00:38:42and it has to conform
00:38:43to evidence
00:38:43because the universe
00:38:44is not self-contradictory
00:38:45and you have to measure
00:38:47your predictive
00:38:49expectations
00:38:50of the behavior
00:38:51of matter and energy
00:38:52against what matter
00:38:52and energy
00:38:53actually does
00:38:54and if your
00:38:55proof is logically
00:38:56consistent
00:38:56or your conjectural
00:38:58hypothesis
00:38:58is logically consistent
00:38:59and accurately
00:39:00predicts and explains
00:39:02the behavior of matter,
00:39:03you have a valid
00:39:03scientific theory.
00:39:06It's the same thing
00:39:06with UPB,
00:39:09with ethics.
00:39:10UPB refers to
00:39:11the methodology
00:39:12of reason and evidence
00:39:13and also to specific theories
00:39:16in the same way
00:39:17that science refers
00:39:17to the scientific method
00:39:18and the practice
00:39:19of science
00:39:21by scientists
00:39:21in particular
00:39:22and so
00:39:24UPB simply says
00:39:26if you have a theory
00:39:27about morality
00:39:29and morality
00:39:29is a form of UPB,
00:39:31science is another form
00:39:32of UPB,
00:39:33then it has to be
00:39:34conformed to reason
00:39:35and it has to conform
00:39:36to evidence
00:39:37and I'm,
00:39:39of course,
00:39:39immensely grateful
00:39:40for the scientific method
00:39:41because it's what allows
00:39:42us to communicate
00:39:42and what gives us
00:39:43comfort.
00:39:44Scientific method
00:39:44along with the free market
00:39:46is the greatest gifts
00:39:47that the West
00:39:49in general,
00:39:50not just the West
00:39:51but mostly the West
00:39:51has provided
00:39:52to the world
00:39:53as a whole
00:39:54and therefore,
00:39:55for me,
00:39:55I had to be informed
00:39:56by the value
00:39:58and benefits
00:40:02of the scientific method
00:40:02in designing
00:40:03a system of ethics
00:40:04because the scientific method
00:40:06is one of the most
00:40:06successful formulations
00:40:07of the human mind
00:40:08ever
00:40:09and along
00:40:11with the free market
00:40:14and ethics
00:40:16has to explain
00:40:17why the scientific method
00:40:19has been so effective
00:40:19and why the free market
00:40:20has been so effective
00:40:21and I think UPB does that.
00:40:22So, okay,
00:40:23thanks very much
00:40:23and you had another question.
00:40:25Yeah, yeah,
00:40:26I've got another question.
00:40:27Thanks so much for that.
00:40:28Yeah, I have a comment
00:40:30to make on the
00:40:30Camelo Anthony podcast
00:40:33I just listened to
00:40:34and this is a game
00:40:38I'm suggesting
00:40:39for all the parents
00:40:40out there
00:40:40that they can have
00:40:41with their kids
00:40:42called the game
00:40:43Situational Awareness
00:40:47and, yeah,
00:40:47I'm not talking about
00:40:48the Jason Bourne
00:40:49kind of thing, right,
00:40:50which is fine
00:40:50but I'm talking about
00:40:51a game that you can
00:40:53play with your kids
00:40:55and it's called
00:40:56Situational Awareness
00:40:57and in my experience
00:40:59kids just naturally
00:41:01gravitate towards
00:41:02this game
00:41:03because it's an awesome game
00:41:05they are totally
00:41:06switched on to it
00:41:07from quite an early age
00:41:08actually
00:41:09and you can go out there
00:41:12and play this game
00:41:12and I would say
00:41:14to any parents
00:41:15out there
00:41:15just beware
00:41:17that you're probably
00:41:18going to get your ass
00:41:19kind of whipped
00:41:20in this game
00:41:21because kids are just
00:41:22naturally better
00:41:24at this game
00:41:25than most adults are
00:41:27and, you know,
00:41:28so, and it's
00:41:30an awesome game
00:41:30there's so many variations
00:41:31you can play with kids
00:41:33on this game
00:41:34and they can come up
00:41:35with their own ideas
00:41:36for how to play this
00:41:38and for anybody out there
00:41:39wondering what
00:41:40Situational Awareness is
00:41:41it's basically just
00:41:42a reality awareness game
00:41:45and it's a game
00:41:47that basically
00:41:48it's a game that helps
00:41:49kids filter out
00:41:52the signal
00:41:53from the noise
00:41:53so they can go out
00:41:55into the world
00:41:56and then you can
00:41:57play this game
00:41:57they can come up
00:41:58with their own ideas
00:41:58for it
00:41:59and you can kind of
00:42:00say, okay
00:42:01how many people
00:42:02were sitting in this
00:42:02restaurant
00:42:03or where's the best
00:42:04exit for this restaurant
00:42:06or, you know,
00:42:07all the kind of
00:42:08stuff like that
00:42:09and kids will love
00:42:11this game
00:42:11I guarantee it
00:42:13and you can have
00:42:14so much fun with this
00:42:15and you can kind of
00:42:18even, you can even
00:42:18extend it to like a
00:42:19you know, what's called
00:42:20SDR
00:42:21surveillance detection route
00:42:22where you're taking
00:42:23a bicycle route
00:42:24or in a car
00:42:25or whatever
00:42:26and you can say
00:42:27to your kid
00:42:28oh, which route
00:42:29should we take
00:42:30back to home
00:42:31which will help us
00:42:34detect surveillance
00:42:35or something like that
00:42:37you know, they'll get
00:42:37the game right away
00:42:38and they can come up
00:42:39with all their own
00:42:40variations on this game
00:42:41and it's a great way
00:42:42of helping kids
00:42:47resist unreality
00:42:48and propaganda
00:42:50and all that kind
00:42:51of stuff
00:42:51because it puts
00:42:52kids in direct
00:42:53contact with
00:42:54reality out there
00:42:55and you know, I just
00:42:57want to make
00:42:57you know, I always
00:43:00I so appreciated
00:43:01your deconstruction
00:43:03and then reconstruction
00:43:04of a Carmelo Anthony
00:43:06stabbing
00:43:07because
00:43:08I feel like
00:43:09yeah, that was a
00:43:11great explication
00:43:12of that whole event
00:43:13and
00:43:16so this could really
00:43:17be helpful to
00:43:18you know
00:43:20kids
00:43:20as they develop
00:43:21into adults
00:43:22how to resist
00:43:23these circumstances
00:43:24where they
00:43:26you know
00:43:26can evaluate
00:43:29a situation
00:43:30and then make
00:43:31the right choice
00:43:32so in this case
00:43:33you know, you just
00:43:34kind of go
00:43:34oh, you know what
00:43:35okay, de-escalate
00:43:38get out of there
00:43:39you made the
00:43:40you made the
00:43:41you told the story
00:43:43about when you
00:43:43were with your friend
00:43:45and you were cycling
00:43:46and then he
00:43:47kind of lost it
00:43:48and you
00:43:49had to see
00:43:51yeah, exactly
00:43:52so, you know
00:43:54yeah, so
00:43:55becoming aware
00:43:56of
00:43:56becoming aware
00:43:57of your situation
00:43:58is very, very
00:43:59can be very, very
00:44:00helpful
00:44:01for
00:44:02very helpful
00:44:03it's
00:44:04it's basic survival
00:44:05I don't know
00:44:06if other people
00:44:07do this
00:44:07and of course
00:44:08let me know
00:44:08if you do
00:44:08I do this
00:44:10fairly
00:44:11and not
00:44:12not all the time
00:44:13but a lot
00:44:13of the times
00:44:14like
00:44:14there's a
00:44:15suspension bridge
00:44:17up in
00:44:18northern Ontario
00:44:19and
00:44:20a family friend
00:44:21was visiting
00:44:21and we took her up
00:44:23and we crossed
00:44:23the suspension bridge
00:44:24and I said
00:44:25to the girls
00:44:27my daughter
00:44:27and her friend
00:44:30if the bridge
00:44:30was collapsing
00:44:31where would you
00:44:31jump?
00:44:32Go!
00:44:33Right
00:44:33because you're
00:44:34above the trees
00:44:35which trees
00:44:35I think about
00:44:36this stuff
00:44:37I'm up there
00:44:38I could jump
00:44:39to that
00:44:39I could make
00:44:40it to that tree
00:44:40if the bridge
00:44:41started collapsing
00:44:42I could get there
00:44:43and I think
00:44:44this is just
00:44:45it's a man thing
00:44:46you know
00:44:46there are these memes
00:44:47about this guy
00:44:48and his girlfriend
00:44:49walking through the mall
00:44:50and he's like
00:44:50oh that guy
00:44:51looks a little bit sketchy
00:44:52okay there's an exit
00:44:52over there
00:44:53that old woman
00:44:54is totally safe
00:44:55and he's just
00:44:55situational awareness
00:44:56and she's like
00:44:57dum-de-dum
00:44:58I think I'd like
00:44:59to get a coffee
00:44:59you know
00:45:00just dum-de-dum
00:45:01of what's going on
00:45:02in her head
00:45:02so the situational awareness
00:45:04is a very healthy
00:45:05thing to cultivate
00:45:06and there's a sort of
00:45:07meme among the
00:45:08younger generation
00:45:09like survival skills
00:45:10zero
00:45:11and of course
00:45:12a lot of propaganda
00:45:13is there
00:45:14to try to get you
00:45:16to
00:45:18not see
00:45:19obviously dangerous
00:45:20situations
00:45:21so for instance
00:45:22with
00:45:23Carmelo
00:45:24Anthony
00:45:26he literally said
00:45:27to the people
00:45:28touch me
00:45:29and see what happens
00:45:30he clearly was
00:45:32psychotically belligerent
00:45:34about leaving a tent
00:45:36and actually
00:45:37if somebody did
00:45:38wrote to me
00:45:39and said
00:45:40that you have
00:45:41to stay
00:45:41in the tent
00:45:42when it's raining
00:45:43I think it was
00:45:43in Texas
00:45:44because there could
00:45:45be lightning
00:45:45or storms
00:45:46so maybe
00:45:46it's a requirement
00:45:47I don't know
00:45:47so maybe
00:45:48you know
00:45:48that was more
00:45:50essential than I thought
00:45:51who knows
00:45:51right
00:45:52but
00:45:54this
00:45:54this kid
00:45:56the
00:45:56the black kid
00:45:57was clearly
00:45:59not listening
00:46:00not doing reasonable
00:46:01things
00:46:02fighting
00:46:02threatening
00:46:04escalating
00:46:06ah
00:46:06right
00:46:07I mean
00:46:08it's clear
00:46:09and of course
00:46:09a lot of
00:46:10you know
00:46:11there's this old
00:46:13statement
00:46:14like I wish
00:46:15I wish
00:46:16that blacks
00:46:17were more like
00:46:18the ones we see
00:46:18on TV
00:46:18and of course
00:46:19I get the racism
00:46:20of that
00:46:21and I understand
00:46:21that
00:46:21and I appreciate
00:46:22that
00:46:22but at the same
00:46:23time
00:46:23you know
00:46:24we also know
00:46:25if you have to
00:46:26go to a bus stop
00:46:26late at night
00:46:27if there's an
00:46:28elderly Asian
00:46:29gentleman there
00:46:30versus
00:46:30a young
00:46:32guy
00:46:32could be black
00:46:33could be white
00:46:34you know
00:46:34dressed in gang
00:46:34colors
00:46:35you know
00:46:35sniffing glue
00:46:36twitching
00:46:37you know
00:46:37we know
00:46:38and so
00:46:39a lot of times
00:46:41you know
00:46:41what you see
00:46:42in the media
00:46:43is
00:46:44everything's reversed
00:46:45everything's reversed
00:46:46everything's reversed
00:46:47all the time
00:46:48you know
00:46:49in all of the
00:46:51shows
00:46:52the white guy
00:46:53is the most racist
00:46:54when white people
00:46:55are the least racist
00:46:56and this has been
00:46:57confirmed by countless
00:46:58studies
00:46:59white people
00:47:00are the least racist
00:47:01of all of the
00:47:02ethnicities
00:47:03and racist
00:47:05and
00:47:05but
00:47:06you'll be told
00:47:07that the white person
00:47:08is always the most racist
00:47:09the
00:47:10black boyfriend
00:47:11is always the most
00:47:13gentle
00:47:13kind
00:47:13thoughtful
00:47:14and considerate
00:47:14where
00:47:15I pointed out
00:47:16that
00:47:17many years ago
00:47:18on X
00:47:19that 80% of black women
00:47:20report being
00:47:22assaulted
00:47:22in the most egregious
00:47:23kinds of ways
00:47:24I think we can all
00:47:25imagine what that means
00:47:26by black men
00:47:27before they reach
00:47:28the age of 18
00:47:29and you know
00:47:30one in 20
00:47:30in America
00:47:31one in 20
00:47:31black men
00:47:32is going to
00:47:33be
00:47:34kill
00:47:34someone
00:47:35over the
00:47:36course of his
00:47:36life
00:47:37and
00:47:38and so
00:47:38like
00:47:39black kids
00:47:40are more likely
00:47:40to kill someone
00:47:41than you know
00:47:42middle-aged
00:47:42white guys
00:47:43and yet
00:47:44so you always
00:47:44get the reversal
00:47:45right
00:47:45the black people
00:47:46are always
00:47:47the most gentle
00:47:47and of course
00:47:47there are wonderful
00:47:48gentle nice black
00:47:49people out there
00:47:49interact with them
00:47:50all the time
00:47:51but it is there
00:47:52to say
00:47:53the real danger
00:47:54right
00:47:54the real danger
00:47:55is those
00:47:55those white guys
00:47:56right
00:47:56or they say
00:47:58that the most
00:47:59cruel and nasty
00:48:01people around
00:48:01are the jocks
00:48:03and and all of the
00:48:04the dweebs and the
00:48:05nerds are just
00:48:06thoughtful and sensitive
00:48:07and nice
00:48:07would be great
00:48:08boyfriends and so on
00:48:09it's not usually
00:48:10the jocks who go
00:48:11around being school
00:48:12shooters right
00:48:13it's usually the
00:48:13the nerds
00:48:14the excluded
00:48:15the vengeful
00:48:15and having spent
00:48:17my time
00:48:17you know
00:48:18I've had an
00:48:19incredibly
00:48:20blessed and
00:48:21gifted
00:48:22life
00:48:23as a whole
00:48:25in that I've
00:48:26managed to go
00:48:26in a wide variety
00:48:27of circles
00:48:27I've managed to
00:48:28move in a wide
00:48:29variety of circles
00:48:29so I was in
00:48:31the nerd circles
00:48:31for sure
00:48:32I mean a
00:48:32Dungeons and Dragons
00:48:33guy and all that
00:48:34kind of stuff
00:48:34and then I
00:48:36but I also did
00:48:36a lot of sports
00:48:37and and some
00:48:39team sports
00:48:39and so on
00:48:42and some of the
00:48:43nerds were
00:48:43incredibly vicious
00:48:44and small-minded
00:48:46and and petty
00:48:47and aggressive
00:48:48but and a lot
00:48:49of the jocks
00:48:49were actually
00:48:50really nice
00:48:51pretty helpful
00:48:53guys
00:48:53so the entire
00:48:55purpose of the
00:48:55media is to
00:48:56give you
00:48:57the opposite
00:49:00of what you
00:49:01might want to
00:49:02be a little bit
00:49:02more alert to
00:49:03right so if
00:49:04there and this
00:49:05is I think the
00:49:06reference Jesse
00:49:06Jackson said
00:49:07after 30 or 40
00:49:08years in the
00:49:08civil rights
00:49:09business for
00:49:10those of you
00:49:10who don't know
00:49:11he's he's a
00:49:12black community
00:49:14leader so he
00:49:15said you know
00:49:16after 30 or 40
00:49:16years in the
00:49:17civil rights
00:49:19movement you
00:49:20know if there's
00:49:20guys behind me
00:49:21on the sidewalk
00:49:21it's late at
00:49:22night and I
00:49:22turn around I'm
00:49:23still relieved when
00:49:24they're not black
00:49:24that's what he
00:49:25said right and
00:49:27so you know
00:49:28there's a lot of
00:49:29people who will
00:49:29be like okay so
00:49:30there's a bunch of
00:49:31let's say I don't
00:49:32know some group
00:49:34right let's say
00:49:34blacks or some
00:49:35group it could be
00:49:36Hispanics could be
00:49:37white guys could be
00:49:38and it could be
00:49:38Asians if they look
00:49:39like they're in
00:49:39Yakuza or some
00:49:41criminal organization
00:49:42right and and
00:49:43they're walking
00:49:43down but the whole
00:49:45media has said oh
00:49:46no these people are
00:49:47super nice you
00:49:47shouldn't judge
00:49:48people you shouldn't
00:49:48judge people it's
00:49:49like but you kind
00:49:50of have to judge
00:49:51people because there's
00:49:52significant risks
00:49:53involved you know
00:49:55because in in the
00:49:56movies it's like the
00:49:57clean-cut guy is
00:49:59always the vicious
00:50:00boyfriend like the
00:50:01preppy guy with the
00:50:02nice haircut it's
00:50:02always but but you
00:50:03know who's a really
00:50:04nice cool guy who
00:50:05actually comes to your
00:50:06rescue is like that
00:50:08tattooed guy you know
00:50:10who rides a
00:50:10motorcycle and
00:50:11doesn't have a job
00:50:12and has a lots of
00:50:13shady income and so
00:50:14on and so it's just
00:50:15programming you to do
00:50:17the opposite of that
00:50:18which is generally the
00:50:19safest path and it's
00:50:20of course I mean
00:50:22lions want to program
00:50:23the zebras to to not
00:50:25be alarmed of lions
00:50:26because it makes their
00:50:26hunting a whole lot
00:50:27easier so when I look
00:50:28at the media and you'll
00:50:29see this all over the
00:50:30place all the time it
00:50:32is just telling you to
00:50:33do the opposite of what
00:50:35is generally going to be
00:50:36a safe course right so
00:50:38people see some
00:50:39dangerous looking people
00:50:41walking down the
00:50:41street and they say
00:50:43well I don't want to be
00:50:45prejudging people I
00:50:46don't want to be big
00:50:47at it I'm I'm going to
00:50:48assume and it's like no
00:50:50that's that's not I
00:50:51mean there's two
00:50:52things true in
00:50:53psychology two two
00:50:55things true in
00:50:55psychology one IQ very
00:50:57real very valid number
00:50:59two stereotype accuracy
00:51:00is a very real thing
00:51:02you don't judge
00:51:03everyone of course by
00:51:05stereotypes right I
00:51:06mean if I met Thomas
00:51:09Dr. Thomas Sowell the
00:51:10great black economist I
00:51:12mean I only say black
00:51:13because it's relevant to
00:51:14the story I don't care
00:51:14that he's black a
00:51:15brilliant guy if I met
00:51:18him walking down the
00:51:18street I I beg him to
00:51:20come for a coffee with
00:51:20me because he'd be
00:51:21fantastic guy to chat
00:51:22with I mean what a
00:51:23delightful thing right
00:51:24but if if there's
00:51:26anybody thuggish looking
00:51:27then you have to be
00:51:30alert and aware of that
00:51:31so the situational
00:51:33awareness is if someone
00:51:37is not obeying simple
00:51:39rules if there's some
00:51:40place they shouldn't be
00:51:41if 15 or 20 times
00:51:44they're not listening and
00:51:46not doing the reasonable
00:51:46thing and then they say
00:51:48you touch me see what
00:51:49happens see what happens
00:51:50if you touch me and
00:51:51then they start reaching
00:51:52for the backpack get the
00:51:54fuck out yeah get the
00:51:56fuck out don't touch him
00:52:00don't grab him if
00:52:01somebody says don't touch
00:52:02me see what happens if
00:52:03you touch me see what
00:52:04happens don't see what
00:52:06happens if you touch them
00:52:07don't do that in the same
00:52:09way that if the pitbull is
00:52:11like foaming and spitting
00:52:13and growling and yanking at
00:52:14his leash don't go pet it
00:52:16don't think you can fight
00:52:17it yeah 100% yeah 100%
00:52:22you know and I think this
00:52:24is such a valuable thing
00:52:25we could you know I don't
00:52:27have any children of my
00:52:28own I know you have a
00:52:29you have a daughter but
00:52:30for that everybody out
00:52:32there I think this is such
00:52:33a great way to introduce
00:52:34them to reality awareness
00:52:39and you can make a game
00:52:40you know like I said
00:52:41earlier you can make a game
00:52:42out of it they'd just be
00:52:42fully on board with this
00:52:44game because it's so
00:52:45easy children are
00:52:46naturally kind of
00:52:49naturally switched on to
00:52:50this stuff and you know
00:52:53this is a great way to
00:52:54try you know to help them
00:52:56become aware without shame
00:52:58you know what I mean like
00:52:59without the pushback of
00:53:01oh you know everyone's nice
00:53:02and all this kind of stuff
00:53:03right you know what I mean
00:53:04like it's just a great way of
00:53:06teaching children to be
00:53:08aware of their you know
00:53:11just be aware of reality
00:53:14and then that's a
00:53:15confirmation for children
00:53:16because you know children
00:53:17are naturally aware of
00:53:18reality and they want to
00:53:19learn more of it they're
00:53:21hungry for it they're like
00:53:22sponges you know like you've
00:53:24you've mentioned before like
00:53:26how incredible it is to see
00:53:28children learn English you
00:53:30know the language whatever the
00:53:31language is they're brought up
00:53:32with how quickly they pick it
00:53:33up and it's it's incredible
00:53:35right like you know there's
00:53:38it's amazing to watch that
00:53:40and then that's a great
00:53:42indicator of like just their
00:53:44their hunger for reality
00:53:46right because that's what it
00:53:47is and yeah so anyway I
00:53:50just wanted to make you know
00:53:51give you give you great you
00:53:54know great credos for your
00:53:56deconstruction and your
00:53:57reconstruction of the whole
00:53:58Carmelo Anthony thing and
00:54:00then the other one you know
00:54:01there's lots of stabbings going
00:54:02on around the world and it's
00:54:05just horrific right and it's
00:54:07unnecessary regardless of like
00:54:09who the victim or the
00:54:10perpetrator is if you if you
00:54:12you know you can just get out
00:54:13of that situation much
00:54:14sooner once you detect what's
00:54:17going on and then you can
00:54:19you know just leave or you
00:54:21know get out of that
00:54:22situation and then instead of
00:54:24that if you're not aware of
00:54:26what's actually going on then
00:54:28you can end up getting
00:54:29scat getting stabbed right and
00:54:30that's yeah and I would say in
00:54:32particular your courage should
00:54:35be proportional to the stakes
00:54:38right so if there's a home
00:54:40invader and you've got to take
00:54:41aggressive measures to protect
00:54:42your family from a home invader
00:54:44then yes you should do that a
00:54:47tent in the rain is not high
00:54:48stakes yeah yeah and this idea
00:54:51that you're just going to go
00:54:52chest bump and thump and and
00:54:53people have this weird idea of
00:54:56aggression like you can win it's
00:54:59very rare that you can win in
00:55:02aggression and the law is kind of
00:55:03set up that way yep sorry can
00:55:06you just could you just do me a
00:55:07favor when you call in I love
00:55:08having the conversations but you
00:55:09keep saying yep in my ear and
00:55:11it's really kind of distracting
00:55:12if you could just wait and just
00:55:13do me do me a solid just wait
00:55:14till I'm done because then I
00:55:15think you're about to say
00:55:16something and it kind of throws
00:55:17me off so if you don't mind
00:55:18okay if you don't mind thanks
00:55:21so you can't win in the law with
00:55:25regards to violence because
00:55:28winning is a decisive victory but
00:55:30in the law if you have a
00:55:31decisive victory it means you
00:55:32weren't in any particular
00:55:33threat and then you lose in the
00:55:35eyes of the law in again it's not
00:55:36legal advice it's just my
00:55:37understanding of the law all you
00:55:40can do in a situation of self
00:55:43defense is survive you can't
00:55:45decisively win because you have
00:55:47to be in imminent danger of
00:55:49grievous bodily harm or death
00:55:50which means all you can do is
00:55:51survive so there's all of this
00:55:53crap out there in movies and and
00:55:58TV shows and books and so on you
00:55:59know like Tom Cruise he's goes
00:56:02out of the bar with five guys and
00:56:04he's like yeah two of you gonna
00:56:05walk away and he fights and he
00:56:06fights and and so on right and
00:56:08then he just decisively wins and
00:56:09he walks away and there's no
00:56:10consequences but that's not how
00:56:12violence works in the real world
00:56:14and in particular it's not how
00:56:15violence works in America in
00:56:18America if Tom Cruise beats up
00:56:20five guys he's gonna have five
00:56:22lawsuits he's gonna get charged
00:56:24five times he's gonna be sued and
00:56:27he's gonna spend the next five
00:56:28years in court and he's gonna
00:56:30probably have to end up paying a
00:56:31lot of money oh you know he hurt
00:56:32my neck and I you know I didn't
00:56:34even attack him and because you
00:56:35know let's say there aren't any
00:56:37cameras because people will often
00:56:38go and have fights where they know
00:56:39there aren't cameras and so on so
00:56:40then it's just Tom Cruise's word
00:56:43against five guys's word oh he
00:56:45jumped us he beat us up out of
00:56:46nowhere we tried to talk him right
00:56:48so the in the movies the the good
00:56:51guy beats up all the bad guys and
00:56:53walks off into the sunset the bad
00:56:54guys just lie there oh groaning oh
00:56:56right that's not it's not what's in
00:56:58the real world in the real world if
00:57:00you kill the guys you're going to
00:57:02jail for murder because all five
00:57:03guys kind of been trying to kill
00:57:05you at least at the same time and
00:57:08if you just injure the hell out of
00:57:10them then they're gonna limp back
00:57:12home and their moms are gonna say
00:57:14who did this to you and you're not
00:57:15gonna say some five-foot-eight guy
00:57:17with great hair are you gonna say oh
00:57:19this guy just blindsided just out of
00:57:21nowhere oh but you gotta you gotta go
00:57:23to the cops go to the cops and we
00:57:24all arrange our stories together and
00:57:26the cops gonna come and arrest you
00:57:27and if the cops don't work then you
00:57:28start a lawsuit for your injury and
00:57:30blah blah blah and I mean this is the
00:57:32way that it works and people but
00:57:34people have this idea that you can
00:57:35just you know have some big
00:57:39altercation and and everything's gonna
00:57:40be fine and it's why I've stayed out
00:57:43of fights I mean I think I've showed I
00:57:46have some physical courage like I
00:57:47marked into tear gas in in Hong Kong
00:57:50with the anti-communist protesters and
00:57:52so I think I have some reasonable
00:57:53levels of physical courage I do things
00:57:55that are you know quite you go rock
00:57:57climbing and things I can do things
00:57:58that require some level of physical
00:58:00courage I think I have sort of an
00:58:01Aristotelian mean not too much not too
00:58:03little too much is foolhardiness too
00:58:05little is cowardice but I won't get
00:58:08into a fight because you never know
00:58:12what's gonna happen you think what are
00:58:15you gonna do you just pick this guy out
00:58:17and you're gonna throw him let's say
00:58:18Austin Metcalf pick this guy up and
00:58:20throw him out into the rain I get him
00:58:22out of my tent I'm gonna get out of
00:58:23my tent I'm gonna set my dollar right
00:58:25okay so let's say you do you throw
00:58:27him out you throw him out into the
00:58:28rain let's say that the young black
00:58:32fellow didn't stab him and just gets
00:58:35thrown out into the rain and then what
00:58:37you think you think that's it you think
00:58:39that's over you think that's all done
00:58:40nope because now you've made an enemy
00:58:44who's kind of a psycho right I mean
00:58:46obviously capable of great evil because
00:58:48he stabbed this poor young man in in the
00:58:51chest and killed him so now you've got
00:58:53an enemy who's gunning for you and he's
00:58:55gonna go and tell his friends and his
00:58:58friends are gonna be like oh that racist
00:59:00blah blah blah blah blah you know and and
00:59:02now you've got him and his friends
00:59:04gunning for you and then what like it
00:59:07just it's like starting a war like
00:59:10obviously it's written much bigger where
00:59:12does it go where does it go I mean how
00:59:14many people thought ah you know if we
00:59:17arm the Mujahideen in Afghanistan
00:59:20against the Soviets that's gonna lead to
00:59:22the Twin Towers going down and the
00:59:24Patriot Act which was suspiciously hot
00:59:27off the press and ready to go even
00:59:29before that so you don't know where
00:59:32violence goes I mean a friend of mine's
00:59:34wife was on jury duty and there was a guy
00:59:36who was in a bar fight and he he punched
00:59:41the guy the guy staggered backwards fell
00:59:43down some stairs died boom manslaughter
00:59:47you don't know unless it is an extremity
00:59:50of self-defense and someone's in your
00:59:54home in my vice don't do it don't do it
01:00:00there is so little benefit and such a
01:00:03great cost you need to do that cost
01:00:05benefit analysis right it's the same
01:00:07thing with resisting the police god forbid
01:00:09you ever get arrested don't be a street
01:00:13corner lawyer don't argue with the cops
01:00:16take your time argue it in court don't
01:00:19don't argue with the cops because they're
01:00:21authorized to use force until you comply
01:00:24or die they are authorized to use force
01:00:26in general until you comply or you die I'm
01:00:30sorry I didn't make the rules those are the
01:00:34rules so people walk into these violent
01:00:37situations thinking there's something
01:00:39good that's going to come out of it I
01:00:41mean let's say you beat up some guy then
01:00:44what you think he's going to just let it
01:00:46go nope especially now he could find you on
01:00:49social media he's going to find a way to
01:00:51get you back and then you have one three
01:00:53minute fight and then how long are you
01:00:57looking over your shoulder and how long
01:00:58are you like he's going to find some way
01:01:00and he's not going to do it alone right so
01:01:03you know as best as you can try to avoid
01:01:06violence try to stay out of the way of
01:01:09violence and you know I mean Lauren
01:01:13and Mrs. Southern Lauren Southern when
01:01:16she was back on P.S. Morgan I think
01:01:19recently debating with Andrew Wilson a
01:01:20very unsatisfying debate but anyway when we
01:01:24had security right when we were in
01:01:25because of the amount of violence death
01:01:28threats bomb threats and so on and
01:01:30actual violence we had security and so
01:01:33when there were protesters outside it was
01:01:36really sad that it was raining we had
01:01:37some extra umbrellas and their you know
01:01:39hair dye was stripping down their
01:01:41mascara was dripping down it's all very
01:01:42sad then we went out we gave them some
01:01:44umbrellas we talked to them for a little
01:01:45bit now we had security and I did not go
01:01:48within stabbing distance of the
01:01:50protesters but I would go out and talk
01:01:51with them and try and understand if there
01:01:54was any common ground that we could come
01:01:55across and it was actually not a
01:01:58terrible conversation but I wouldn't go
01:02:00and give them a hug so sorry I asked you
01:02:01to stop talking now it's all yours and
01:02:04if anybody else has any comments or
01:02:05questions please feel free to jump in
01:02:07yeah I mean my example would be like you
01:02:10know I have I have fire extinguishers in
01:02:13my house right and I only have them in
01:02:16the hope I'll never have to use them and I
01:02:20feel like that should be somewhat of a
01:02:23model for how we go about in the world
01:02:27that we try to avoid conflict at all
01:02:31costs you know if that if that if that
01:02:35involves running away fines great run
01:02:37away like but please don't put yourself
01:02:40in harm's way just for the sake of one's
01:02:43ego or you know proving oneself or
01:02:47anything like that it's much better to
01:02:50much much but much much better to see
01:02:52the see that early and you know just
01:02:54just leave don't wait to the last
01:02:57second and then have to like you know
01:03:00get stabbed or get hurt or things
01:03:03escalate or whatever you know learning
01:03:05how to see these things early is very
01:03:07very valuable yes it is and learn how
01:03:14to back down learn how to back down
01:03:19because you never know how much someone
01:03:24else is willing to escalate and if you
01:03:28don't know how I mean because fights
01:03:29generally among people you don't know if
01:03:31you don't know how much someone is
01:03:32willing to escalate then you just have
01:03:36to learn to back down people call you a
01:03:38pussy man you're a coward you back down
01:03:40you totally cucked out it's like yes and
01:03:42you know what's cool my heart is still
01:03:44beating and I don't have a brain injury
01:03:47and I didn't crack an eye socket and I
01:03:49didn't lose three teeth and I didn't like
01:03:51learn how to back down I mean pride is a
01:03:55terrible thing vanity is terrible for
01:03:57women pride is terrible for men your
01:04:00status is in regards to your conscience
01:04:03not in regards to the applause or boos of
01:04:09ignorant fools of ignorant fools I mean
01:04:14the same friend I talked about where I had
01:04:17the crazy attack from him about the bike
01:04:22he fought he fought he'd go out and have
01:04:25fights and I'm I told him I don't don't go
01:04:30have these fights man this guy's huge I
01:04:32he would go out and fight guys 50% bigger
01:04:35than him I don't what are you doing and
01:04:38you know he he died young and it's like
01:04:44the sad ending of the movie stand by me
01:04:48where the guy who's good at calming
01:04:50everyone down gets into some knife fight
01:04:52gets stabbed and dies why on earth would
01:04:55you get involved in somebody else's knife
01:04:57fight why on earth would you get involved
01:05:01to somebody else's knife fight it's crazy it is
01:05:06saying that your life is to be a disposable
01:05:09rent-a-cop for no pay yeah it is such a
01:05:14tragic lack of self-esteem to get involved
01:05:17in other people's violent altercations and I
01:05:23I wouldn't do that you know I've said this
01:05:26to friends you know what are we gonna do if
01:05:28something goes down it's like I don't know
01:05:29what you're gonna do I'm out of there I'm not
01:05:31I'm not I don't do that what could you
01:05:34possibly gain covered in dust and glory as
01:05:39Mark Twain writes about but no what is that
01:05:42again what is that oh your your pride you're
01:05:44you know you you you fought and you look I
01:05:46I get this so when I was younger people
01:05:50would fight and you know mostly shake hands
01:05:52and people didn't escalate too much but
01:05:54people are kind of nuts these days and
01:05:57especially if you're dealing with less
01:05:59intelligent people less intelligent people
01:06:01don't know how to de-escalate because
01:06:03de-escalation requires self-mastery and
01:06:06self-mastery requires intelligence these are
01:06:10the people who fail the marshmallow test
01:06:12these are the people with no inner life
01:06:15these are the people who are just a void of
01:06:18reactions and status and aggression and win at
01:06:23all cost they don't think about the future
01:06:25they don't think about tomorrow they
01:06:26don't think about consequences they just
01:06:28can never lose in the moment and it's not
01:06:32my mother was very smart she was one of
01:06:33these people too just can't lose in the
01:06:35moment I'll win no matter what even if it
01:06:37destroys everything about my life I will
01:06:40never back down and if you're fighting
01:06:45people who won't back down and who will
01:06:49win at any cost you're gonna get
01:06:51seriously hurt because they will twist your
01:06:56nuts they will poke you hard in the eye
01:07:01they will bite your ear off Mike Tyson
01:07:04style they will go for the knees right and
01:07:06if you get wrecked in your knees that can
01:07:08be a lifelong pain problem that can be a
01:07:10lifelong opiate problem your life can be
01:07:13completely ruined they will again they will
01:07:16go for the groin they will they will use
01:07:20their heel to shove your nose into your
01:07:22brain your cartilage into your brain I mean
01:07:25they will fight dirty they will do anything
01:07:27this isn't like the fisticuffs and
01:07:29queensberry rules and so on a street fight
01:07:31is an absolute ugly vicious brawl where if
01:07:36you win decisively you're probably gonna end
01:07:39up on trial so and and also you have to know
01:07:42you have to have the self-control to know
01:07:44exactly when to stop so you're pounding a
01:07:45guy at what point when you're pounding a
01:07:48guy are you pounding him against the law I
01:07:51don't know when's he disabled people can
01:07:53say oh he went down and bro kept pounding
01:07:55him for like 30 seconds right okay well
01:07:58the jury is gonna have to adjudicate that
01:08:01about whether you maimed him or you killed
01:08:03him grievous bodily harm manslaughter how
01:08:06do you know exactly when to stop well if you
01:08:08have the self-control to say okay well he's
01:08:09down I know exactly when to stop this then
01:08:11the other then you have the self-control to
01:08:13de-escalate and get out let this is my big
01:08:16advice to everyone let idiots win I know
01:08:22that sounds odd I'm not talking like in a
01:08:24debate or whatever it is I will not let
01:08:26idiots win and all of that but a debate is a
01:08:27civilized thing let idiots win right if if this
01:08:33young fellow wants to stay in the tent and
01:08:36he's not gonna leave the tent and he's
01:08:38threatening the hell out of anyone if they
01:08:39touch him let him stay in the tent let him
01:08:42have let him have his corner why it's not
01:08:47your tent he's not threatening your baby he's
01:08:50not about to assault your girlfriend he's just
01:08:52sitting in the tent maybe he was being a jerk in
01:08:56which case you leave the tent it's not the last
01:09:00stand in Gallipoli it's not the gates of Vienna it's not
01:09:08Passchendaele you can leave let idiots win let idiots win
01:09:16yeah it's not it's not it's not worth it is it
01:09:20because idiots don't have a concept of any kind of honorable winning or losing
01:09:27they don't it's just domination at all costs and escalation at all costs how can
01:09:33you win against that the only way to win is not to play I mean can you imagine me
01:09:37getting into shouting matches with my mom she's still alive I think I mean whoa and
01:09:44so so I think I'm sure my family thinks I'm just a terrible guy and they read my
01:09:48page and it's always terrible guy okay let him have it I don't care I don't care I
01:09:52don't care let him win let let people think you're a bad guy let people think
01:09:56you're a coward let people who cares it's just thoughts you know what you care
01:10:01about a rusty blade straight through your heart that you should care about that you
01:10:06cannot survive people thinking you're pussied out man you're cucked out you're
01:10:11weakling coward just words it's only syllables it's not bladed savagery
01:10:18straight straight to the carotid let idiots win don't as this with trolls too
01:10:24right don't trolls will try and bait you into engaging with them in no intent of
01:10:28any truth pursuit or anything like that and then they walk away and you know we
01:10:34had this debate a week or two ago with the guy who's like yeah man with
01:10:37rationality rules you totally lost okay that's a goading thing I get I feel it
01:10:41right I'm a human being I'm healthy I'm happy I'm a human being so there's a
01:10:49goading thing you totally lost he totally dominated you he owned you he
01:10:54took you to schooled you and like okay so this is just goading language right to
01:10:59try and I'm like okay just I recognize that idiots use goading language rather
01:11:03than actual proof just tell me where I'm wrong like forget all the language of
01:11:09you're such an idiot or you got things wrong or you don't understand this you
01:11:12don't understand that it's like yeah yeah yeah shut the fuck up and tell me where
01:11:15I'm wrong like an actual adult adult would right just a sort of throwing words and
01:11:20of course you know if people won't define their terms if they won't address
01:11:26rational arguments if they keep changing the topics and so on and then you hang
01:11:31up on them and then what do they do everyone does the same thing right they
01:11:34say oh I challenged Steph and he couldn't he couldn't handle it and he
01:11:37just he just he just ran away he just kicked me out of the he couldn't handle
01:11:40any tough questions like of course they're gonna say that let them have their
01:11:44pathetic stupid little victories let them have it let them have this little
01:11:49stupid rock they pluck out of their ass and say oh it's such a diamond oh look at my
01:11:53precious my precious let them have it I don't care I don't care I mean oh of
01:11:57course at the time I'm a little goaded and I get a little punchy and you know
01:12:00the masculine energy flows and I get all of that and there's nothing wrong with
01:12:05that stuff as well you don't want to be bloodless and not care about anything to
01:12:08do with this stuff but yeah all of the people who like to it was this I don't
01:12:13know it's still there's rumor around for years and years and years that when I
01:12:17reviewed the movie Frozen that I logged in as a girl and said what a great analysis
01:12:24it was because it showed up under my name and that's because Google Plus the
01:12:30comments went through Google Plus and then ended up back on YouTube and all of
01:12:34that and people people and so people are like oh yes Steph he I mean he he he
01:12:41commented he pretended to be a girl commenting on one of his own videos that's
01:12:45how sad he is and he totally got owned by this person and he's a total blah
01:12:49blah blah blah blah and it's like yep you can have your victories you absolutely
01:12:52can you can have your victories think I'm an idiot I think that I log in as a
01:12:56girl to comment on my own video rather than do something fun with my wife or
01:13:01daughter and come up with some great new philosophical thoughts yeah that's what
01:13:05I'm doing is it's creating all accounts as teenage girls and commenting on my
01:13:09own videos and it's like okay so it's funny because like all of the people who you
01:13:14know this is back in the day of course it could be more recently right all the
01:13:17people who are like ah Steph is an idiot it's like well I I guess you missed out
01:13:21on Bitcoin then didn't you I mean look at your victory man look at look at what you
01:13:32won you missed out on Bitcoin when it was five cents that's what you win you win having shitty
01:13:45relationships not have any morals not telling the truth not having a good conscience you
01:13:50missed out on peaceful parenting you missed out on great conversations that help people
01:13:54wound heal inner wounds and move on with their lives and you missed being lovable you missed
01:13:59having a family you missed having a wife who cares about you you missed the biggest investment
01:14:04opportunity in the history of humanity and and all for what so you so you could call me a racist
01:14:11or
01:14:11you could call me a misogynist or something it's like okay I mean look excuse me look at what you
01:14:20won what did you win when you're still in your parents basement and I'm having a great time with my
01:14:26family and friends and doing great shows and I mean look what you won good for you
01:14:33yeah it's pretty sad who used to run entire they used to run entire websites dissecting everything
01:14:38I said and he's such a bad guy and he's such a hypocrite and and you know the really sad
01:14:42thing is
01:14:42of course all the people who oh he's a cult leader and he just destroys families and so on and
01:14:46that's
01:14:47really quite sad because they got driven away from some arguments for peaceful parenting and against
01:14:52spanking so they probably ended up abusing their kids which is why those statements were made in the
01:14:56first place that's obviously a little more serious but for the other people it's like they they won
01:15:00what did what did they put I mean I have a wonderful life I'm blissfully married have a great relationship
01:15:06with my daughter and great friends and I was just down visiting a bunch of friends in New Hampshire
01:15:13recently had a wonderful week of you know exciting challenging conversations and we we played cards
01:15:23and laughed so hard that I was crying I mean and and that was and and so what if other
01:15:31people won well
01:15:31they they've lied they've slandered they you know they they begin that you get you get the basement of
01:15:36the fucking mountain you get to eat raw fish and you get a ring of a ring of invisibility to
01:15:41the future
01:15:42and of course the people who slandered lied and attacked me that they're going to be judged by
01:15:48the future and I don't know why people don't understand that you're going to be judged by the
01:15:53future and I'm more and more correct as time goes along and you are going and I'm a very good
01:16:00person and
01:16:01I bring a lot of virtue and truth and goodness to the world and I have prevented probably close to
01:16:07two billion attacks on children over the course of 21 years and then everyone who's lied about me
01:16:13has furthered the cause of child abuse and the destruction of the young and that's going to be
01:16:21absolutely clear in the future I'm going to be like one of the people who was lied about because
01:16:25they wanted to end slavery or one of the people who was lied about because they wanted more equal rights
01:16:29for women I'm going to be the hero in the future and everyone who thinks that the hero is just
01:16:35a sad
01:16:35pitiful villain who's going to be held in contempt forevermore amen and what do they win so let idiots
01:16:42win honestly there's almost nothing more liberating in this world than just let idiots win let the
01:16:47people who hover over the edit page on wikipedia and have just got to say terrible things about me
01:16:52I mean I can't imagine why anyone would be so against someone who's exposing child abuse except
01:16:59I don't know child abusers I mean that's what I assume I don't have any proof that's what I assume
01:17:04is motivating all the people who lie about me is that they have a terrible conscience and I'm
01:17:10helping victims who they want to victimize right of course right I mean if you're going to tell the
01:17:14truth on the mafia the mafia is going to lie about you and try and get you killed which has
01:17:18certainly
01:17:18happened before so let idiots win let them win don't engage with people who are trying to engage with
01:17:26you in bad faith and don't engage with people who are just going to escalate I don't play with people
01:17:33who don't play by the rules and the rules of philosophy is reasonable discourse heated tempers
01:17:38is fine getting annoyed with each other is fine that's part of the human condition but not robots
01:17:42but not spark but I don't play with people who don't play by the rules and it's the old thing
01:17:48like
01:17:48if you pay if you play chess with a pigeon the pigeon just shits on the board knocks everything over
01:17:53and struts around like it won let the pigeon win let the idiots win and that's the greatest
01:17:57liberation that you can possibly get and then you can just move beyond all of this like a look at
01:18:02these kinds of people the way that you would look at ants from an airplane so they've won yeah okay
01:18:09you get what you win and I get my life all right is there anything else that you wanted to
01:18:13add
01:18:13I just want to add one last thing there Stefan like you know stay away from drama addicts
01:18:21you know because these people are drama addicts they're addicted to drama but what do you mean
01:18:26drama well as long as they can provoke more drama yeah if I get into an argument with somebody like
01:18:33that and they just yeah they just want to further the drama in bad faith then I'll just say okay
01:18:39you
01:18:39know what yeah okay we're done here okay you know I don't I don't need drama in my life and
01:18:45I don't
01:18:45so therefore I don't need any more of this drama and then they you know then they just don't want
01:18:51to
01:18:51do next because they're addicted to drama it's not about the argument it's just about the drama
01:18:58and as long as they can provoke drama in a person then they're happy doesn't matter whether it's good
01:19:03bad or indifferent or hurts them or whatever they're just addicted to drama and I just say you know
01:19:09what I don't actually need drama in my life I really don't I don't want any drama in my life
01:19:14and so therefore no you can go away and I'll find someone else who's more serious
01:19:21people who lack self-control always end up having to control others yeah and this is where censorship
01:19:27comes from people who can't react people who can't manage their reactions to troubling information
01:19:32always want to control the dissemination of troubling information especially if it's true because
01:19:36then they can't just say it's bigoted and wrong and so people provoke others because they can't
01:19:42control themselves and also there's a lot of people who only feel that they exist when other
01:19:48people are interacting with them and if they can't get positive interactions they're thrilled
01:19:51with negative interactions and yeah it's very very sad all right well thank you again always a great
01:19:59pleasure to chat and thank you for we have an odd void of listeners wanting to call in oh I
01:20:05lie oh my god
01:20:06do I lie like a rug all right so sorry we have another caller I didn't see it it was
01:20:11below the tiny screen
01:20:12on my phone uh go ahead my friend m2
01:20:21it's fine uh yeah you're pretty quiet go ahead
01:20:27is that out no gosh uh maybe someone else uh no go ahead I can just turn you up
01:20:37straight um okay uh um um um well jerry i'm sorry i i don't know are you on a speakerphone
01:20:47on the other side of the room can you just move the microphone closer to your mouth
01:20:52um like I said
01:20:57what
01:21:00you can't hear me right i can just vaguely hear you i don't understand how it's possible
