00:00Hi, I'm Eva. I'm 13 years old and I help fundraise here at Catch. I'm also a volunteer
00:05and a farm assistant. I was struggled a lot with my mental health and I'd always loved animals
00:10ever since I was a young age so my mum found this place hoping I can meet people and also
00:16get involved with the animals which obviously I have and now I'm part of the Catch family.
00:21We have goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, chickens, alpacas and llamas. We have lots of stray cats
00:27in the area and it actually started out with one stray cat called Dusty Rusty and she kind of sparked
00:34the idea of like well why if we can save one cat why can't we save more and then literally
00:39later
00:40when just after Dusty got taken by Cats Protection Trust we got Ernie who kind of was like right
00:48so now this is becoming a problem and no one else seems to deal with it it's kind of become
00:52the norm
00:53around here so like we have to do something. We are so lucky here at Catch to work with the
01:00animals
01:00that we have it is an honour and a privilege to be with them. Youngsters like Eva who come down
01:07to help
01:07are just incredible the passion they show is unbelievable so we're grateful to them for being
01:14here with us. And we wouldn't be who we are without our young people we are led by and or
01:20sometimes run
01:21by our young people that the inspiration the motivation the ideas all come from them and
01:25what's really beautiful is being able to a be part of that and then be able to help them develop
01:31their
01:31voices you know if we look at Eva's story she her transformation from when she first started with
01:37us to where she is now this is a 13 year old girl who is running spreadsheets to make sure
01:42we've got
01:42enough money to look after our animals and fund fund the animals and bring on more projects it's just
01:47it's amazing and there's a hundred stories just like Eva's at Catch. Pretty much we will be fostering
01:52some stray cats and then they will find their forever home somewhere so we will just like be
01:57kind of getting them used to that kind of getting them used to bits like the area getting them used
02:02to
02:02people because obviously once a cat hasn't experienced people or love it can be quite overwhelming and
02:08shocking for them so that's why i've always got a little bit of a soft spot for stray cats because
02:13i think
02:13it's quite sad they've not got anything in place there's an all-time high for neglect and abuse
02:18of animals and sometimes it's just from lack of education not because people are meaning to be cruel
02:25and so we actually do have an education farm here and that people are welcome to come to and we
02:31go into
02:31schools and workplaces so it's about getting the message out there of what animals need because
02:37their lives are only as good as we're going to make them with young people sometimes their what they
02:42want to do will get brushed aside because they're too young and they think their voice doesn't matter
02:45but it's not like that at Catch their voices get heard and instead of putting your idea down they
02:53help you build it up and they help you put it into progress and that is why Catch is really
02:57well and
02:58truly amazing
