Zac Braxton-Smith reports on the entrepreneurs who are seeing big success with their metal water bottles.

00:00Zach Braxton-Smith reporting for Queensland Country Life. Well, that's a wrap on FarmFest
00:052026. I'm back at my desk now after three massive days, more than 750 exhibitors, more than 30,000
00:13people through the gate. I wanted to tell you about a quirky story that caught my eye. Now we usually
00:18write about big machines, big deals, big drones, and there was plenty of that this year. But metal
00:25water bottles were also really interesting. And I'm going to tell you why. There are two reasons.
00:31On day one of FarmFest, I'm at the opening event at the Elder's Tent in the centre of the venue.
00:38There's media everywhere, there's camera crews, chiefs of big organisations, and in the middle of
00:44it all is a giant inflatable water bottle with a young man on top of it shouting down to the
00:49crowd
00:49about FarmFest being open. Reason number two, when I got talking to that young man, his name's Lewis
00:56Jarden, he's the co-founder of Yowie, and I got talking to another founder of a metal water bottle
01:01company. His name is Rod Tully. He's from Stumpy Michael. It became clear that they'd set up quite
01:07successful businesses in just a few years. There are plenty of sales figures in the story, so I won't
01:14spoil them for you. But it all started with quite a simple idea. They looked at a product that was
01:20already on the market and went, we think we can make this a bit better for tradies and stockies,
01:26and they went out and did it. If you want to find out more about their businesses and their stories,
01:31you can read on.
