First-time cotton growers Rebecca and Grant Cassidy, Dunrobin, South Yaamba, explain why they decided to give cotton a go.

00:00We're on the beautiful Fitzroy River at South Yamba. Behind us at the moment is a feed barley
00:05crop which we put in a few weeks ago following our first attempt at a cotton crop. We have got
00:13200 acres under three centre pivots in our cultivation country and we had a look at all
00:20sorts of different cropping opportunities when we first put the pivots and all of the infrastructure
00:25in around about two years ago and cotton was one that came up as the best gross margin crop.
00:34Interestingly here at Dunrobin they grew cotton about a hundred years ago.
