00:02You've got no idea what these farms were like when we first took them over.
00:08Everything was going in the wrong direction. The paddocks were getting less and less healthy,
00:13the soils were getting more and more damaged and it's a really nice feeling to actually turn the
00:21whole system around. You know, that's the basis. If we can get the soils nice and healthy and
00:27productive, then everything else will flow on from that.
00:40There is no silver bullet in agriculture. You don't build carbon unless you're doing
00:45everything else to make the carbon build. It goes right back to soil preparation, fallow
00:50preparation, weed control, varietal choice, sowing date, fertilizer applications, soil
00:55amelions, all the things you've got to do to have a good crop. And then you add the endophyte
01:01to it, it takes it to another level again. But yeah, if you're not doing all the basics
01:06right, the carbon on its own is not a silver bullet.
01:11The boys loved the actual farming farming, the driving the machinery and sowing and all the
01:18rest of it, where I like the science and the solution to the problems.
01:26Up until now, you couldn't build carbon in a cropping system, and you certainly couldn't
01:32get carbon credits issued to you. Now we can. So all together, we got 4,800 carbon credits,
01:40over 880 hectares. And to be honest, it probably was twice what we even dreamed that it could
01:48do in that first year. So we're pretty happy with the result. So while you're actually fixing
01:55your paddocks and making them better and making your soils better and making your profitability
01:59better, you've actually got another income stream now available to you. It's just a no-brainer.
02:07This is for the future too. We want to have a system that it's better than when we started. And
02:14if you do that generation on generation, that's the way of the future. Getting high production
02:21without necessarily stuffing the environment while you're doing it.
02:30Doing so well, congratulations.
02:30All right.
