00:09Happy Pride to everyone!
00:11So now, to introduce Abed Abate, Abed Abate?
00:14Yes!
00:14Okay, so over the last two years, the Renrio Pride Run has become one of the most anticipated and iconic
00:20events in Renrio's calendar.
00:22In 2024, the Pride Run gathered 5,000 runners in Manila, creating an unforgettable celebration of inclusivity.
00:29Self-expression and community.
00:32Building on that success, the 2025 edition grew even bigger with more than 13,000 runners proudly celebrating Pride across
00:42Manila, Davao and of course here in Cebu,
00:45making it one of Renrio's most vibrant and impactful nationwide events today.
00:51Participants arrived in the most colorful costumes, drag performers brought excitement and life to the stage.
00:58And together, the streets were transformed into a vibrancy of rainbow colors.
01:03And in its more than just a run, it became a powerful expression of pride, unity, diversity and self-expression
01:10that left a lasting impression on everyone who took part.
01:14Perfect.
01:15Perfect.
01:15Thank you, Vince.
01:16But further building on the incredible success and momentum of the past two years, this year's Renrio Pride Run is
01:23set to be even bigger, brighter and more meaningful as it continues to unite communities across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
01:33So it's its second year of doing the Pride Run not only in Manila but also in Cebu and Davao.
01:42Movement is an annual tradition that started in 1969 in the United States.
01:50So Cebu should not start, but it quickly spread throughout the world because of its, the reason for it being,
02:02it advocates for inclusivity for the LGBTQIA plus community.
02:07So it was first of all a protest because it was a response to oppression.
02:14So in 1969, there was a group of individuals, LGBT individuals in New York City that were unjustly oppressed in
02:26Stonewall Inn and they started to resist harassment, discrimination and fear.
02:33It is a community that refused to stay silent because we are just only fighting for same, equal rights.
02:42We're not demanding for special rights.
02:45It's something that all humans must have.
02:49And what the demand...
