00:00Good Samaritans were just driving by when they saw a flash of white in the bushes.
00:04I'm Erica, I'm a Dodo producer, and I always sent the footage of this dog being abused on the streets.
00:09It's very hard to watch, but I promise his glow-up at the end makes it all worth it.
00:13They found out that Jacob was often tied up for long windows of time without food or water.
00:18It got him some water and took him off Skid Row.
00:21People experiencing homelessness often take amazing care of their pets,
00:24but that was clearly not the case here.
00:26Hey, my gosh.
00:28A rescue, legacy of love, pulled Jacob out of the shelter and contacted Joseph,
00:33a dog trainer, to help heal his heart and teach him how to be a dog for the first time.
00:37This is a good one.
00:38Yeah.
00:40The very first thing he did was roll in the mud with his new foster siblings.
00:44Good work.
00:45Yeah, but he has a good heart. I can tell.
00:48Aw.
00:49No, run!
00:51Ah!
00:52Yeah, shake it up.
00:53Might as well jump in the bowl.
00:54Yeah, he's helping me.
00:56And he met some of the resident dogs at the ranch.
00:58He was so goofy as he tried to play for maybe the first time ever.
01:01But he made quick friends and everyone loved him.
01:05Good boys.
01:06Ready?
01:07Let's go.
01:08He had the time of his life as human foster siblings.
01:11Going from being leashed to bushes and buildings 24-7,
01:15to being able to run so freely.
01:20Good boy, dude.
01:22Good boy.
01:24Right on.
01:25Nice job, good boy.
01:27After building a relationship on the foundation of trust,
01:30Oh my God.
01:31Joseph worked on recall...
01:33Jacob!
01:34...and general socialization with Jacob while at public parks.
01:37He worked so hard to prepare Jacob for his forever home.
01:41And his forever came along shortly thereafter.
01:44He has a dream family who's keeping up with his training,
01:46still encouraging him to run free every day
01:48and loving all of his shenanigans along the way.
01:51Tie yourself out there, buddy.
01:53You want to carry your own water bottle all the way home, huh?
01:55Jacob!
01:56He loved the play yard.
01:58Jacob will never be mistreated or neglected again.
02:08We'll see you then.
