00:11 Ross was on the euthanasia list and

00:13 we got there about two hours before his euthanization time.

00:19 >> He's my big head buddy.

00:20 >> I didn't have any space for him at my house, so

00:23 I brought him to the office while I searched for a home for him.

00:26 [MUSIC]

00:28 He was one smelly dog, we had to bathe him.

00:31 [MUSIC]

00:33 Wow, that was fun.

00:35 See look, we got you cleaned up, you're okay.

00:37 And he wasn't comfortable unless I got into the shower with him.

00:41 So fully clothed, I am in the shower with a 72 pound pit bull.

00:50 >> Hey, I just had to pee,

00:52 I'm not leaving you.

00:54 Just had to go to the bathroom.

00:56 He would not stop moving.

00:58 You could see there was such trauma from being confined.

01:06 I would get up and take him out every little bit.

01:08 This is about 1.30 AM, we are outside for the third time since midnight.

01:15 I just knew that he would not get comfortable until he finally knew it was

01:19 safe.

01:19 [MUSIC]

01:20 It's 3 AM, okay?

01:23 You wanna take a nap?

01:24 He had not even stopped to sit down.

01:28 3.30 AM, still doing our thing.

01:31 [MUSIC]

01:35 Right before the sun started coming up, the most amazing thing happened.

01:39 He finally just stopped moving and melted into my arms.

01:43 [MUSIC]

01:45 It's like he finally understood that he was safe.

01:49 And we went inside and he was able to comfortably close his eyes and

01:54 just sleep.

01:55 Good boy.

01:56 [MUSIC]

01:58 I promised Ross that I would find him a home.

02:01 So I posted him on Facebook and in no time,

02:03 this amazing woman reached out wanting to adopt him.

02:07 [LAUGH]

02:08 So we loaded Ross up in the car and took him down to meet his new mama.

02:14 He knew from the second they met that he found his person.

02:18 >> Good boy.

02:19 >> Yes, good boy.

02:22 He fell asleep on her, she fell asleep on him.

02:24 There is nothing else he could have done to show how absolutely perfect and

02:29 happy and safe he felt.

02:31 >> My goodness, my goodness.

02:35 >> Ross is as obsessed with his mama as his mama is obsessed with him.

02:40 >> I love it.

02:42 >> Ross gets to go and run and play and do all of the things that a dog of that size

02:47 and that demeanor should be able to do.

02:50 >> Just enjoying being a dog.

02:53 >> He's always deserved that life.
