00:00Originally, we had spit gasoline.
00:02We were like, it's too normal.
00:04It was like, it's too on the nose.
00:05We needed to be quirky with it.
00:07What's near gasoline, what would have the same effect as gasoline?
00:11Kerosene!
00:12It sounds cooler.
00:13It does.
00:21Kerosene, we wrote it with the mentality of making a fun rock song.
00:26We wanted to make like a bratty sassy song.
00:28Let's make a song that you could do your makeup to, that you can just like feel pumped
00:32up to go out and experience a day.
00:46I think we were literally setting up like the beginning of a movie in our heads.
00:51I think we had Mean Girls in our heads.
00:54A Rage Notebook just kind of like saying all these things.
01:09Kindness is the easiest thing to do, but for some reason, some people find it really hard
01:16to do like the basic, the bare minimum.
01:19You could just say hi to me, but you don't.
01:22And if you do, it's because other people are watching.
01:23It's like that kind of thing that you wouldn't normally have to think about being kind or nice
01:28to somebody.
01:28But this person that we're talking about in the song, it's just this super difficult thing
01:33for them because they just don't have a kind bone in their body.
01:49I think we wanted to be very standoffish.
01:52Yeah, very confrontational.
01:53It's like if we had that person in front of us, it would be like, just say it.
01:57Say it to my face.
01:58It's like that.
01:59Because I feel like some people have the power to do it when it's anonymous or whatever,
02:06especially nowadays with social media.
02:08It's like, if you want to say something, I dare you to say it right in front of me and
02:12look in my eyes when you do.
02:13Just go for it.
02:40Like in a certain way, you're trying to call them out that I see the real you.
02:45I know you want to say those things.
02:47Like say what you mean and spit kerosene.
02:49If you're going to say something and you know it will be mean, just say it with your chest.
02:54Spit kerosene and it will light on fire.
02:56But just know that your words do have that effect and stand by them.
03:11Verse two is the evolution of this story where we already confronted this person.
03:15You're like, I know you're obsessed with me.
03:17I know you're checking my stats on Instagram.
03:20You're checking my likes, my comments, and you want to beat me so bad.
03:25But you will never say it at anybody.
03:26Like it's right there.
03:27It's so obvious.
03:28And I see it.
03:30I see you.
03:43So the bridge, our favorite part.
03:46We're like, we want something really fun, something really light and chanty.
03:50So we're like, what would we want people to sing back?
03:53Like when we wrote the first draft of that bridge, every single man in our team, they
03:57were like, do you want to say jeans?
04:00Can you copy my jeans?
04:02Like it's too girly.
04:03And we're like, that's the point.
04:06But all the girlies were like, that's the line.
04:09That's the point.
04:10It makes it fun.
04:10And it sends the message across that.
04:12It's not that deep.
04:26The outro is just where I scream at you and just kind of want to scare you off.
04:31But honestly, I love this part because it's a little bit more of the intensity that we
04:36usually have in our music.
04:37So this last outro, I feel like we just let loose for sure.
04:41I'm almost out of breath by that point, live.
04:44But it just makes it a lot more intense because I get like, oh, red.
04:48And it's just like screaming at everyone.
04:50I try to make eye contact with someone as well and just be like, yes, you.
04:57Superhuman by NCT has the best bridge I have ever heard.
05:02I think you can see our love for K-pop in everything in this song.
05:06The way that it's fun, it doesn't take itself too seriously sometimes.
05:10And also the video, the styling, the branding of everything.
05:14We were just like, if we were pop stars who played rock, what would we do?
05:18And it was just very fun to explore that area because we're such huge fans of the genre.
