00:01PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang has confirmed that PAS and UMNO leaders met last night
00:06amid calls for a revival of the Muafakat National Alliance.
00:11However, he played down the gathering as just a regular meeting, saying he was not involved.
00:16PAS Vice President Idris Ahmad and Secretary General Takidun Hassan
00:20are said to be among those who attended the meeting at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
00:25Two days ago, Hadi's Deputy Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man called for PAS and UMNO to work together
00:31in the upcoming Johor State election, describing it as the right time to revive their MN Alliance.
00:38This comes as PAS reviews its relationship with its prikata national ally, Bersatu.
00:43Hadi had cited several issues that strained ties between the two parties,
00:48including Bersatu's move to unseat the Perlis Menteri Besar,
00:52alleged interference in appointments involving Kedah and Kelantan
00:55and Bersatu's opposition to admitting new Malay Muslim parties into PN.
