00:00The Asian Football Confederation reportedly flagged the sixth state of the Football Association of
00:06Malaysia at a special FAM Congress. A report by AFC Deputy Secretary-General Wahid Cardani
00:14highlighted issues involving governance, accountability and organisational management
00:19in FAM, Haryan Metro reported. It described the issues as stemming from repeated failures
00:26across the association's entire organisational structure rather than any single department.
00:32It found that the administrative structure established in the organisation had not been
00:37officially approved by its executive committee. The report also found that decision-making powers
00:43seemed to be focused on certain figures bypassing formal mandates and channels. It rated FAM's
00:51organisational maturity at 1.2 to 1.8 points out of five after reviewing its governance,
00:57administration, finance and risk management, infrastructure and facilities and management
01:03of competitions, clubs and events. FAM only scored higher in the area of media and communications,
01:11where it received two points. Amadeep Gill, FMT
