00:00This is believed to have been Johnny Cash's D-18 that he used when he first opened the Grand Ole
00:06Opry.
00:07His first performance ever at the Opry in 1956 in July.
00:11I believe he played it from 54 to 56.
00:14And so sometime at the end of 56, beginning of 57, he had gone into a guitar shop, I believe,
00:21in Ontario.
00:22And he had swapped it out for a D-28, which would later be Johnny Cash's D-28, right?
00:30The family that ended up with this guitar was actually supposed to end up with the D-28.
00:35Interesting.
00:36And so they ended up saying, well, where's my guitar?
00:39Well, we had to give it to Johnny Cash.
00:41And in exchange, they ended up taking this particular guitar home.
00:45And that's where it's been for all those years.
