00:00I usually play traditional classical guitar. This is not like that.
00:06But the question is, does it still capture the voice of a classical guitar?
00:16When I was first playing this guitar, I really expected the price to be higher.
00:20It actually sells for under $800, and I've seen some instruments for much more value
00:25that don't play as easily as this one, so that impressed me.
00:34By the way, the Bromo B-E-N-2C comes in three colors. The one you're seeing,
00:39trans black, and also sunburst. Now this is actually a solid body guitar, which is not normal for
00:46classical guitarists, but it has some very great advantages. Number one, it's not as susceptible to
00:53climate changes, like humidity shifts, where the instrument, the wood is going to move and therefore
00:58you're going to go to a tune. This is less susceptible to that. Then the fact that it's solid
01:03really means that it's less fragile. I've dropped my classical guitars before, ended up with huge cracks.
01:08This thing is really sturdy, so you're not going to have that problem.
01:18And one of the best advantages, because we have to plug this into an amp, often when you do that
01:23with
01:23other classicals that can plug in, I've had the problem of feedback. And because of how they've
01:28designed this instrument, you get less feedback.
01:35Another really cool thing they did with this guitar is, since it's an acoustic electric,
01:39it relies on an amp, you have to have some sort of pickup system. And you can have pickups that
01:44are
01:44underneath the soundboard, but you can also have pickups under the saddle, like a piezo pickup.
01:48This one has both, which is great because they sound different. So with these different knobs for each
01:54pickup, you can mix and match the colors to be warmer, brighter, just a different timbre in general.
02:00So with my middle pickup turned all the way up, you can hear the sound.
02:06And if I turn it down,
02:10to see it's more mellow now.
02:12And now with it back up, I have more presence and maybe some more mids, more immediate attack.
02:25Now with the down again,
02:29more mellow, right? If I turn both pickups all the way up,
02:36a very bright, present sound.
02:42So if you just play a chord and then move the tone knobs around, you can see the timbre.
02:49Can really change a lot.
02:57The back has a slim 48mm C profile neck with a 400mm radius fretboard.
03:03And what's nice about this is it's still a classical feel while being easy for electric guitar players.
03:09It's kind of like a nice compromise between the two. It's very easy to play.
03:17Now the top is solid Sitka spruce with 5a flame Okuma veneer.
03:22The comfy nut design is really clever. It goes inside of the fretboard, which is really nothing
03:27like I've ever seen. And I think it's a very cool looking nut actually.
03:31It has a mahogany neck and an ebony, amara ebony fingerboard here.
03:41And it includes a premium archtop hard case.
03:48In general, I have to say I'm really impressed with this guitar. I'm not someone who really was
03:52interested in playing an acoustic electric because I play, you know, classical guitar recitals
03:56on a lot of historical instruments and things like this. I like the acoustic sound.
04:01So I was a little biased coming into this, but to my surprise, I think there's really something
04:05going for the acoustic electric guitar, especially this one by Bromo. They did a really nice job at
04:11making it so it feels like a classical guitar, but with the ease of playing, the great action,
04:18the smooth neck, the light weight of an electric guitar. Just having that thin body and this round
04:23beveled edge for my arm, it just, it feels like I'm playing electric, but it sounds like a classical.
04:28It's very cool, I think.
04:33And when it comes to playing gigs, instead of miking my guitar, being able to just plug in without any
04:37feedback and play amplified with beautiful reverb on the amp or maybe digital effects like pedals and
04:44things, it opens up a whole new world of sound and ideas for music. So I think it's a very
04:49inspiring instrument.
