00:00and taylor moore really does it if you look at the down the line angle you could see that his
00:04right foot is dropped back a little bit could be just the shot he's playing but what i like about
00:08this and i've seen many of your players kind of have this uh technique is that it encourages
00:15rotation through the shot when you're talking about throwing that that medicine ball if if you
00:19were correct me if i'm wrong here if you were let's say super open right yes i think that is
00:25promoting a little bit more of a tilt back it's really tough to to throw the that medicine ball
00:31to third base you know why it's because you're probably going to be too cutty uh so i feel like
00:36you get more bad on the ball here you probably get a little more friction on it um and it
00:40probably is
00:41just better for a consistent strike am i in the right spot here no you're you're spot on i mean
00:45the the mistake with going to with going to open is one of two things if you do release your
00:50chest
00:51properly and rotate around the corner the path is going to be way too far left way too cutting you're
00:56going to strike it off the toe which becomes a deflection so it just kind of rides up the face
01:01there's no real spin so everybody is thinking that the right foot back is to promote a draw motion
01:07not necessarily not not at all i mean you know i teach a lot of cutters but i will i
01:12want the cutters
01:13being from a very square to even slightly closed stance so it it does keep you a little bit more
01:19on the
01:19plane but more importantly it engages your core engages your chest your left shoulder to get to
01:25get around the corner to move the low point more forward anytime you're too open it's easy for tilt
01:30and it's easy to for a little bit of early extension and a little bit of humping and a little
01:35bit of
01:35moving close to the ball so i think square is way more for rotation than necessarily path
01:40path
01:40you
