00:00Mali's military-led government has announced sweeping restrictions on motorcycles as it battles a worsening jihadist insurgency.
00:09Under a new nationwide order, motorcycles with engine capacities of 125cc and above are now banned outside major urban centres,
00:21with exemptions for Bamako regional capitals and selected towns.
00:25Authorities have also suspended the import, transit, sale and distribution of these motorcycles and their accessories across the country.
00:35Officials say the move targets jihadist groups, which frequently use motorcycles for mobility and attacks.
