00:00AirAsia Philippines has assured passengers its flights will continue as scheduled.
00:05Despite reports, authorities ordered the airline to help operations at government-run airports over alleged unpaid fees.
00:13The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines reportedly cited over 271 million pesos,
00:20or 17.5 million ringgit, in unpaid air navigation, landing, parking, and passenger service charges from 2021 to May 2026.
00:31However, AirAsia Philippines said all flights across its network would remain operational,
00:37reported Philippine media and news organization ABS-CBN.
00:41In a statement, it said the airline assures flights and services continuing as scheduled across its network,
00:48subject to normal operational considerations such as weather and other standard factors affecting airline operations.
00:56In a cease and desist order issued yesterday,
00:59CAAP directed AirAsia Philippines to cease operations under its jurisdiction within three days of receiving the notice.
01:08Philippine digital news outlet Politico reported that the order also barred AirAsia Philippines
01:13from utilising airport facilities unless authorised in writing by CAAP.
01:20CAAP Director General Raul De Rosario cited the airline's continued failure to settle outstanding obligations
01:28despite repeated collection efforts.
01:30The regulator added that a formal demand was issued on May 11,
01:35but its June 2 directive noted no payment or settlement proposal had been received.
