00:00When people talk about Taiwan, they often talk about chips.
00:03But that's only part of the story.
00:05Behind the boom is something deeper.
00:07A massive supply chain of hundreds of companies
00:10building the machines behind the machines that make AI possible.
00:20NVIDIA, TSMC, and Foxconn are among the biggest names driving the AI boom.
00:26On the sidelines of Computex, U.S. chip designer NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang
00:32met with Foxconn chair Yang Liu as NVIDIA continues expanding its footprint in Taiwan.
00:38The global push for AI is benefiting more and more companies here.
00:43So obviously TSMC is the main beneficiary, absolutely.
00:46But apart from that, the ecosystem in Taiwan is very rich.
00:50There are dozens of companies that stand to benefit here.
00:52I think companies such as ASC, that do packaging, Foxconn, that does server assembly,
00:58those companies stand to benefit.
01:00But many other firms operate far from the spotlight.
01:03There's companies, for instance, such as Kingslight, that do the rails for NVIDIA RX.
01:08That just really demonstrates that the solutions that companies supply here are very differentiated
01:13and the market positions that they have in their respective segments can be very strong.
01:17In Taiwan, many highly specialized suppliers dominate niche markets.
01:22Some of the biggest winners are companies you've probably never heard of.
01:25They don't only design chips, from cooling systems to power delivery.
01:29They form the backbone of AI.
01:31Without them, none of this would be possible.
01:34Take, for example, Taipei-based Delta Electronics.
01:37Now, Delta is the world's number one, world leader in power and cooling solutions for the IT industry,
01:43but especially now for AI data centers.
01:46As you know, data centers, they consume a lot of electricity.
01:48So then Delta has the mission to help all these AI data centers to reduce energy consumption
01:53through its high-efficiency power and also liquid cooling solutions and also infrastructure.
01:58While Delta focuses on powering and cooling AI servers,
02:02LiDON specializes in powering and connecting them.
02:06From the previous consumer products to now,
02:08we can from the general server embedded power to the entire computer system,
02:15even to the DC to DC system,
02:18we have a whole bunch of design and design capabilities.
02:22Our design and development centers are also in Taiwan.
02:26Taiwan's AI advantage extends far beyond chip making.
02:29As companies race to build new data centers,
02:33demand is increasing for the equipment that cools, powers and connects them.
02:37For Taiwanese suppliers, the next stage of growth will come not only from the chips themselves,
02:43but from everything built around them.
