Nvidia said on May 27 that the computing giant plans to invest around US$150 billion a year in Taiwan, terming it the "epicentre" of the AI revolution and predicting it will be the world's tech manufacturing hub for a long time.

Huawei also announced the Tau Scaling Law, a breakthrough transcending from the geometric scaling logic that has long underpinned chip development and production cost.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) pledged to invest more than US$10 billion in Taiwan's AI sector to deepen strategic partnerships and expand its capacity to build and assemble advanced AI chips.

00:22Okay, that was too late to long
00:30Taiwan is the epicenter of the AI revolution.
00:34This is where the chips come, packaging comes.
00:37This is where the systems are made.
00:39This is where AI supercomputers were created.
00:42The number of partners we work with here in Taiwan, incredible.
00:46Taiwan is booming.
00:48And it makes sense Taiwan is booming.
00:50Four years ago, five years ago,
00:52NVIDIA was spending about 10, 15 billion dollars a year in Taiwan.
01:00Now, we're spending 100 going to 150 billion dollars in Taiwan each year.
01:08150 billion dollars from one company alone.
01:12It's going to fuel an incredible ecosystem here.
01:26We saw time scaling can deliver strong benefits across devices, circuits, chips and systems.
01:35During 2026, going to market later this year.
01:41It marks our first ever successful implementation of logical folding.
01:50What I would say is today the overall CPU market has had significantly higher demand than any of us predicted
02:00a year ago.
02:01So, I would say the CPU market is tight.
02:05I did just go to China before I came to Taiwan.
02:08I had the opportunity to talk to all of our largest customers in China as well as around the world.
02:15And we are ramping up capacity very quickly.
02:18One of the reasons I came here to Taiwan is to make sure that we prepare ourselves for the significant
02:24ramp in CPUs.
02:25And we're getting excellent support from all of our supply chain partners to do that.
02:31My view is that we will continue to ramp up supply every quarter this year.
02:35And we have significantly more supply planned for 2027 and beyond.
02:40Because this trend is really just starting.
02:45We're going to continue to see the demand for CPUs go up over the next few years.
02:52China is about 20% plus or minus of our revenue.
02:56And it's a very important market for us.
02:58Now, we do a lot of business in China across many different segments.
03:02So, PC segment, gaming segment, as well as some of the data center segments.
03:08Of course, we're US companies.
03:10So, we have to follow all of the US export controls and regulations.
03:15So, some of our highest end GPUs are export controlled.
03:19But frankly, you look at the size of the market and the size of our portfolio.
03:24And we'll continue to partner very closely with our Chinese customers.
03:28Knowing that there is a portion of our portfolio at the very highest end that is export controlled.
03:34It doesn't change our commitment to the China market.
03:36But we do have to make sure that we're following all of the US export control laws.
