00:01and he's in a great position isn't he jason this is where levi has wanted to be here really for
00:07a few seasons and he has the opportunity now to take a hold of this earlier parlor jason thomas
00:14talked about it earlier very few times at the beginning of the year are we like well this is
00:18actually an important race you've got to start stamping it right here a moto one win has put
00:23levi kitchen in a perfect position to maybe take hold of this early and show everybody that this
00:29skit this title is his well for cole davies number 37 full transparency i wasn't sure what we were
00:37going to get from him because we we didn't have a lot of information to go on we had some
00:41really
00:42poor motocross results and we had one fantastic one at buds creek i feel a bit foolish because after
00:47one moto he's on the podium and he looks like the same guy that we saw in monster supercross so
00:52no
00:52more of that i'm going to expect him to firmly be in this fight today and the rest of the
00:56other 10
00:56rounds in this championship there are some questions coming in that joe shimoto we knew
01:02he was probably on paper your favorite finishing second and then winning that xmx world title but
01:07the injuries the rough supercross season and we know with joe he only gets better i thought he wrote
01:13great that first moto but statistically he is better in the second moto i suspect the number 30
01:18he's going to be up near that front if he gets a great start and so many contenders that everyone
01:23talked about no one talked about this one nick romano who was just hoping to stay on with his
01:28team as a fill-in rider was running in a podium position for a lot of moto one and ended
01:32up fifth
01:33so solid performance by the rider from new york city and let's see if he can continue that and if
01:40he
01:40does i think you're going to be seeing him racing for this squad throughout this year and
01:43maybe even next no pressure nick romano as the riders ready the mechanics start to back away
01:50there's seth hamaker who is a runner up in moto one that was actually a career best
01:55in pro motocross for him remember both motos count together for the overall the fly racing 32nd card
02:02is up who will be the first overall winner of the year in the 250 class we're going to find
02:08out
02:08because the reps are up
02:12because the reps are up
02:18julian vomer leads them in but he goes a little wide still able to control it michael mosman there
02:24with him at hamaker
02:27great start by julian rough start that first moto so better start for him we saw him earlier today
02:32having some speed been your third fastest qualifier good start for him and is that you said michael
02:38mosman yeah good to see him up he was on the far inside gate close to it so was able
02:43to sneak
02:44around and you got the second moto uh first moto finished second place seth hamaker up there in a
02:48good position i don't see levi kitchen oh that's what i'm looking for that has been the problem with
02:53kitchen the last year and a half has been the starts wasn't a great one in moto one but not
02:58bad
02:58enough to stop him julian vomer off to the race is already pulling away from boseman and hamaker
03:04yeah this is pretty easy when you have that speed you come out get the whole shot you're young you
03:08just go for it and you realize man i'm pulling away from these guys but it's a long race want
03:14to make
03:14sure you have enough for the tank and julian always has had the speed as he's starting to pull away
03:19well he led seven laps in the second moto at this race a year ago vomer but this is a
03:25little
03:25different because he's coming back from a devastating back injury looking good as hamaker
03:30attacks boseman uphill right hand turn coming can he get it yeah great i thought he almost had that
03:37pass or he did now yeah yeah just a racing incident you know mike was trying to close that door
03:43but
03:43seth was moving forward i thought he had the pass earlier but tough break for michael looks like he's
03:48got a couple more guys is that levi yeah it is levi good eyes there james so that's the moto
03:53one winner
03:54and the bike he goes down a second time so i'm going to say bye-bye to the overall win
03:59for the 47
04:01oh man something's wrong yeah it looked like his bike spun out his hand the way he was looking but
04:06yeah this is it i mean if that bike runs this is that championship you got to get up and
04:11move forward
04:12that front brake issues maybe you see the handguard was pointing almost straight down on the right side
04:20oh disaster and you're right it quickly shifted from you're right forget the overall
04:24you got to salvage points you got to get into the top 20 to score any points at all as
04:29boom air
04:29continues to roll yeah just a great opportunity for guys like julian had a tough first moto um
04:35you know finished it but didn't wasn't where he wanted to be but a great opportunity for the guy in
04:41second place seth finishing solid now you got julian you probably feel like you've been racing he might
04:47come back towards you but your biggest competition and your teammate was on the ground got to make it work
04:53well how about this story what a comeback julian bomair broke his back early in the smx playoffs last
05:01year and was told first doctor he went to you're not even going to touch a motorcycle for 12 months
05:06which would have been september of this year well here we are in may and he's not just on a
05:11motorcycle
05:11he is leading the best in the business out on track he's logged a lot of laps on but he
05:19pushes
05:19back against that he believes he can get it done anywhere right now he's getting it done for sure
05:23here yeah he's getting it done and the biggest thing he's always had speed it's just really the
05:27injuries and i said earlier when that doctor said that he probably said have a nice day because we
05:32believe in we can overcome anything and with julian like you just stay out here you know he's good at
05:38this
05:39track and um you never know what might happen if you roll this thing off great start dope
05:44canada dundee is third that's the rookie who is very strong in moto one now the overall results are
05:51probably going to get quite jumbled from here and some of the good contenders that we saw moto one
05:56who have bad starts now begin to move forward but at least at the moment you're looking at a
06:01hammocker bomair dundee podium yeah that door is open they've all kicked it in and look how close it is
06:08um you know and these rookies right here they'll only get better first moto you know solid finish
06:15now in that top three and no real pressure behind him so if he can just keep it going this
06:20race will
06:20open up you got to think about fitness that comes in so far it's pretty good and oh that's dax
06:26benek he was running well i think right around that fifth place spot and now he is crashed
06:31yeah it looks like it's in the same section that eli uh went down it's a high speed section and
06:36he's off
06:37the racetrack so either got a little bit of help or he went in too hot nonetheless uh tough break
06:42for
06:42daxton so here's dundee originally of iowa then moved to texas and they got picked up by this monster
06:50star yamaha team that means you head to the cairo georgia tallahassee florida state line area
06:57and he's been doing the work and it's paying off right now running third and a lot of hype about
07:03his speed but we've seen so many young riders who have the speed and aren't translating it to the
07:09racetrack so far so good today for dundee yeah and all it takes is a race like this hulks can
07:15finish
07:15this he does have the speed i mean he's riding with hayden deegan um justin cooper through it in a
07:20week so
07:20he knows that speed and i think with these young guys just that confidence to believe just one
07:26finish it could propel you to a whole different level so i decided to see if he can hold this
07:31thing off well you mentioned that theory of the 450 class where you thought how deegan gets his
07:35450 career started is really going to be a fork in the road same theory here yeah absolutely i mean
07:41i feel like this whole 250 class is a reset for all these guys and unfortunately for levi
07:46it's almost a reset of the past you know you're like man i'm so fast and then he's going to
07:51walk
07:52away unless a miracle happens with a day that he should have won overall but he ends up off the
07:57podium and not even close so but back to kate julian even now i'm set them anchor this could spawn
08:04them spawn on to a a career um and really set them up just one race yep and for bomair
08:12there's
08:12certainly no doubts about what he can do coming back from injury his career best is a fourth
08:16he leaves the moto right now here's dudney in third you see with the drone camp and hammock
08:22are up ahead would be the overall winner with two two scores but only six and a half minutes
08:29of this race have taken place yet
08:34that looks really good really clean
08:39and trying to get another view here of that crash with boseman battling with hammock or hammock
08:46are not aggressive yeah i mean i thought seth had the pass and then he gets in there michael
08:52just goes in there that berm kind of gets in and that line that seth was on just funnels
08:57into michael just a racing incident but unfortunately michael it's a bad situation to be in
09:02with the point he has to work with this another spot right here and the big moment of this race
09:07you know watch levi kitchen go in here runs to the back up you see joe shimota but for levi
09:13it is a just seems like that's the way last year it was unfortunate for him that second moto starts
09:18the same way but he's got to keep fighting it's kind of funny how that worked it wasn't hitting
09:22most of it he came together with cody's shots but maybe that was because shock was trying to stop
09:28to not hit boseman then the second time when kitchen went down was due to boseman
09:34yeah it's really easy to happen especially these opening laps they're in a pack so you imagine
09:39yourself in a crowd of people and somebody in the middle of just stop you run in the back of
09:43it easy
09:43to happen and um you know whatever the case was it's really costly for levi but you see that every
09:49race
09:50a pile up on those opening laps so dundee rolling right now in third jt yeah this has to feel
09:58good
09:58for kate and dundee because we remember in supercross yes he was the rookie of the year but ironically
10:05let's let's say he got pulled for poor performance it wasn't actually going the way that monster yamaha
10:10star racing wanted it to and they said hey let's take some time let's go get ready for pro motocross
10:15and
10:15let's come out swinging there and we it's hard to argue with this qualifying performance and the
10:20way he's riding right now but he's not coming out swinging at the opener well he is and jt a
10:25lot
10:25of people are talking about what they saw even with his social media clips about fast he was going
10:30in the preseason but you never know if that's going to mean anything come race day but he's making it
10:36reality now because he could be on the overall podium he's right in the fight for it but the rider
10:41to
10:41watch is actually davies cole davies has climbed to fifth and that would be enough to get him to second
10:48overall and for davies definitely wants to win this title he's showing solid points up maybe not
10:55his best day davies just put it together right now that's exactly what he did during the supercross and
11:00you got to know like he didn't race a lot last year so he's only going to get better and
11:05if he
11:05brings that confidence from supercross that might end well because he ended up with a championship
11:10pretty easily over there yeah remember davies didn't start the supercross season on fire it
11:15up to round three to get a win here he is at the 37 will i think a lot of
11:20the reason that people
11:21didn't really want to have him on their bingo card here for the outdoor season is because last year
11:26well it wasn't good but at the same time he didn't really get a chance to show it he only
11:31was there for
11:32a few rounds at the end he was coming off injury he talked to me yesterday and said how he
11:36wasn't
11:36prepared because of that injury wasn't able to set the bike up so they were behind on that and to
11:41just
11:41you know he kind of scrambled his way through those last rounds there and i think a lot of people
11:46think oh well in that case he's the supercross guy but he reminded me too he's from new zealand and
11:51he was on motocross just like everybody else kind of growing up he said really it was only when ben
11:56townie sort of took him under his wing and started teaching him the supercross skills there that that's
12:02where he switched over to there are very few supercross tracks in new zealand near where he lives and so
12:07he
12:07said i grew up a motor kit so i think it's kind of narrative that that's not where his skill
12:12set
12:12is he's out to prove all of those people wrong and he's doing a great job here especially if he
12:17hangs on to this overall second yeah i i agree and for the people that don't have him on his
12:21bingo card
12:22i'm sorry to say you probably should stop playing bingo because this guy is that good i mean you can
12:27see
12:27it and and really just comes down these guys get on the track they get that momentum this is what
12:32you're
12:33going to get and he's trying to challenge rider defrancisco for fourth there's francisco on the
12:38white rockstar energy husqvarna rider from california definitely rode this track a lot growing up from
12:45bakersfield and he's holding down fourth maybe the running order of that team you got cochran who had a
12:52tough first moto back in this one in 18th and then bennick who had a good moto going and crashed
12:58officially credited right now in 38th so that's the rockstar husky team which has announced they
13:04will not be racing next year as a full factory outfit now husky is looking to perhaps supply
13:09some of the factory motorcycle components to another team if there are some takers out there
13:15that want to lease the components but the rumor is that some of these young 250 riders will just move
13:21over to a ktm 250 factory team so i think that defrancisco and bennick are going to be okay and
13:28have a home next year there are some other riders like i believe cochran who are going to be looking
13:32for work and it's all about this season to show everybody what they are capable of rider d riding
13:38pretty well right now in fourth yeah rider d had a breakout supercross season uh finished third but
13:44yeah it's a hard spot to be in with all these young guys and even the rookies that like there's
13:49so many
13:49good guys coming up in the amateur program that hold necks and out here that if you're not performing
13:55it's sad to say you'll be looking for a rod no matter how talented you think you are because the
13:59next guy is just as talented and it just continues to go yes that next program you mentioned where the
14:05amateurs get a chance to race on race day in their own race in the same track you're not seeing
14:11nearly as
14:12many ups and downs almost everybody is either good or great of these young riders coming through we don't
14:17really see uh the complete bust as they would say in other sports and that just makes it's more crowded
14:23at the top no absolutely absolutely you'll have the incidents like we all have but what just levi
14:30uh you know up and downs but they don't there's no bust jt uh james watching rider d francisco going
14:37on i had an opportunity to grab max ancy up here in the mechanics tower max not the opening round
14:42you
14:42wanted we saw that huge crash on race day live this morning pulled off there early in moto one was
14:48that just due to the soreness you were experiencing in that moto yeah i mean uh of course could have
14:53been way worse i'm i'm still i'm not broken but yeah i'm pretty sore and beat up i couldn't i
14:59couldn't
14:59really breathe when i was riding the the it was the jumbling around but hey it's what it is i'll
15:04uh i'm
15:04up here studying watching um i'll get some physio done this week and uh i'll be back next week
15:09uh the alpine style medical crew honestly they did a fantastic job with me and they were like look
15:13get some physio done this week you're gonna be okay but i mean yeah it was just they can't really
15:18drain it or get any of the blood out of it it's just my uh my butt is pretty big
15:22at the moment so
15:23not not ideal but hey could have been worse still watching my teammates they're doing well uh
15:28dundee in third and colin uh i bet the boys are yeah cadence up there these boys are uh ripping
15:33so um
15:34good to watch and hopefully i'll be back out there next week fine
15:37all right drill it'll be okay we'll see you hang down let's put a little bit of perspective on what
15:41max is talking about right here he had a crash earlier today in practice and when he's talking
15:46about he's a little sore check out to the left of your screen right here this is max dance to
15:51me
15:51and it's the instant stop so you want to know how tough these guys are he got up rode off
15:57the racetrack
15:57came out and lined up for the first moto and um it was a tough day for him but good
16:03to see him happy
16:04got another moment yeah looking through traffic a moment ago oh and stalled it yeah that's a tough
16:14spot to be in we saw nick morano uh romano do the same thing there's a big kicker right there
16:19so
16:20um didn't lose too much time but that was uh costly for all right and now hamacre has caught
16:25boomer in a battle for the leech shimoda is 11th after the mistake so a tough one for him after
16:30a good first
16:31moto a tough one for kitchen who is just trying to get into the top 20 he's 21st right now
16:38so it
16:38could be hamacre's day and he's looking to make it a little better as the man in the green number
16:4310 looks for the moto win yeah he looks good he's able to close that gap and as i mentioned
16:47earlier he
16:47probably figured uh julian would get out there but because you guys have been racing that race that
16:52especially the second moto opening race he might come back towards him and uh seth is probably like okay
16:58so this is what levi felt like that first moto has to speed closing in on the guy and look
17:02great
17:04halfway through reminder to stock up a monster energy drink at stater brothers which way is this
17:10going to go hamacre looking for an opening on g2 yeah you saw seth really charge into that section
17:18and i think he missed his line i think believe he wanted to get close to him because there was
17:22an
17:22opportunity to pass another one here um but julian did a great job at kind of keeping steph guessing
17:29right there but nonetheless steph makes that pass he's going to close this door he's into the lead
17:35he guessed right he guessed it keep him getting well how about this hamacre has never wanted overall has
17:42never won a moto and he might get both today will a great performance regardless right jason but
17:49especially considering they were talking about the guys had very little seat time to set up this bike
17:54for pro motocross and that was due to the injury that we sort of referenced earlier so a badly torn
18:00trapezius that's that kind of muscle there in the sort of middle center sort of upper side of your
18:04back of your shoulder area and he said that the rehab that he had to do was basically two weeks
18:10long
18:10with doc g who we got to speak to earlier there um also jet lawrence's physio he said he was
18:16there
18:16every single day monday to friday for two weeks straight go in there in the morning three hours
18:21of therapy go get some lunch come back for two to three more hours of therapy and this is away
18:25from
18:26home in california so we couldn't even go home further at this point so really committed to getting
18:31back here to racing fitness but when i said to him kind of you know what toll does that take
18:36he said
18:36didn't really matter because at the end of the day i need to come here knowing that i have done
18:40everything that i possibly could for set right now guys that is paying off victor
18:47you know what that's a pretty wild story but at the same time anyone who knows seth the main thing
18:54that people say about him is how gritty and how tough he is so it's almost in a way not
18:58a surprise
18:58that whatever was thrown at him you don't even notice when he's out of the racetrack and all that's
19:03why i was just listening like finding this out you know seth does a great job at keeping the main
19:08thing the main thing he goes out there and focuses on himself doesn't let all these distractions and
19:12for most rotters i mean that would be a gnarly story and an excuse coming in here um and a
19:18legitimate
19:19one but not seth he comes out here and he's fighting i think he also probably knew with julian
19:24coming back from injury that probably wouldn't fight him that much um but sept is here and got his
19:30best finish that first moto and might top that the second one um going winning this thing and winning
19:36overall if he holds on right we just saw rider uh sorry as this battle is going on you got
19:42romair
19:42dudney de francisco and davies just saw dax bennick ride off had a crash early in this moto he is
19:50done at least for this race but he rode off the motorcycle under his own power
19:54his bottom box let's see what davies can do how far forward can he go he's already second overall but
20:01championship points still on my mind with each position yeah you got to give a shout out to kate
20:05in third place these guys have been here for a few laps now and much we talk about the supercross
20:12champ and cole davies he hasn't been able to close the gap on him so and rider d is trying
20:17to put that
20:17pressure so again as i said as these laps goes on just a little bit of belief in these guys
20:23you'll get
20:23a finish like if kate can hold on you'll get rods like this and then it'll only get better next
20:28thing you
20:29know he'll be battling up there with seth and making for the lead and that's a good move for
20:34dudney because the supercross campaign as jt mentioned did not go as expected davies makes a
20:38mistake yeah loses front end and buries it luckily he's got a little bit of time now maybe i think
20:45he
20:45was getting to the point where i believe he was faster than rider d but he was so close it
20:49wasn't
20:49able to ride his normal line so we'll see if he has that pace if he can close back up
20:53with about 10 minutes
20:54left 25 points still fighting for that um that podium position you can see how the overall podium
21:01would turn out on the bottom left of the straight to be hammock or davies and dudney top three vomera
21:08be fourth overall romano would be fifth romano's best in his career overall is a seven so still a great
21:15race day for the 141 running six right now we'll see if davies can reset the teenager out of new
21:21zealand
21:22talked to his dad this morning and uh really echoing what will had said in her report they are
21:28confident that they can do this in motocross just the same as supercross what he said is
21:33really look at the supercross races where he's really excelled the nastier the more rutted the
21:38track is the better cold baby is done so his dad wayne kind of thought this track would be a
21:44weakness
21:44he thinks as we go east even to colorado where that track's pretty rutted he thinks cole will get
21:49even better yeah i mean he he will but he he was right i mean cole wasn't as good to
21:55me in my
21:56honest opinion in some of those nasty spot um tracks like daytona he was really rushing it but
22:00what he did was go to work and he we talked about during the supercross like his interest
22:05speed was really low he worked on that and as he did you could see that growth during the supercross
22:10season to where he was untouchable nobody in that field was even close to him so he will get better
22:15i think it's more about the hard work of cole davies rather than just the track conditions
22:19okay he adapts and um doesn't usually make the same mistake over and over and he definitely won't
22:25stay in the same spot he's moving forward yeah i think he's shown enough here to everyone realize
22:32all right he's going to be in it in motocross just like he is in supercross and what's wild about
22:38this
22:38right now it said it would be the first overall podium for all three riders hamacre davies and
22:45dutty and to get back to what i was saying about judging you mentioned how fleeting that confidence
22:50can be after those tough supercross races and all be gone if dutty can hold on for a podium yeah
22:57it
22:57will be you know it's maybe not like the pro circuit where you solidify a ride because you know
23:02bobby has a lot of guys up there looking for that opportunity but for him you know i i believe
23:07it's a lot
23:08you see just these little gains as um cole makes another mistake it doesn't take much because these
23:14guys are so close to where if he finished this thing off don't be surprised a week or two that
23:20we're talking about k dutton winning his first ever race that's how good and close these guys are
23:24they just got to believe and um this moto might be that step towards that amazing how quickly things
23:32can flip in this game when you start talking confidence and momentum davies mechanic likes what he sees
23:38third in the moto second overall seth hamacre trying to bring his first win in pro motocross home
23:44and by the way as you watch this battle another one of the young riders on monster yamaha star racing
23:50cayden meneer battling with the 43 of lux turner who's been great today on the toyota redlands barx
23:56yamaha by the way i just want to add that hamacre is the only non-yamaha rider to win this
24:01year he won
24:02daytona yamaha won every other supercross now he's looking to win in motocross look at lux turning up the heat
24:08turn down for what he's like my sister's gonna be there in a couple weeks as well i got to
24:12show up
24:13but you know this battle right here i mean lux wants that rod that kate's on um so there's there's
24:19a lot of pride for these guys and i'm sure for you know kate this race is starting to get
24:24to the second
24:25moto and starting to make a few mistakes but still top 10 great great finishes you can hold on jg
24:30yeah i think
24:31weech remember flux turner telling us that story about how you know before things turned for him
24:36and he really started to make progress he was having to race part-time you'd have to go home
24:41work a part-time job just to make enough money to go chase his dream go back to riding for
24:47a couple
24:48of weeks and then rinse and repeat that cycle over and over and over and you watch him now he
24:53was
24:54really turning the corner at supercross becoming a top 10 top five guy now he's trying to challenge and
24:59move towards the top five in pro motocross it's just a remarkable story of a guy that wasn't even
25:04good enough in this sport to be doing it full time look at him now yeah and as we watch
25:09jimota
25:10challenging muneer jt also this is no disrespect to that barax yamaha team but in pro motocross having
25:16the factory full engine is such a huge advantage so when you see turner well up in the top 10
25:22you know
25:23that guy can ride there's a great motorcycle i'm sure under him but there are tricks that the top
25:29team's house and he's taking it right to all those guys shimodo looking to take it to muneer now
25:34yeah joe's doing what he did that first moto just unfortunate for him that mistake
25:39cost him earlier but that was a great pass he can hold on to it he'll be on the outside
25:43so he
25:43should have the momentum to get through this corner pretty clean as he does but yeah you know going back
25:49to the yamaha and the better you do the more parts you get from factory in this class those little
25:56bit apart you see you notice that difference on the racetrack so the team is getting better the
26:01rotters get better and uh yeah great start for him and now it's romano battling turner's not
26:08settling he's just moving forward he gets veneer and now he's going after romano
26:13didn't get to break square bump right here there you go cut him off cut him off there you go
26:17nice
26:18pass you can see that one coming nick got a little bit of wide luck since that that was a
26:23pass the border pass and yeah continue moving his way forward he's got a chance hymas you had
26:29the in-ear communication with him i'm talking to him about there get the sense sense out here
26:35and there's hymas have not seen much of him today he's up ahead in sixth but look you can't tell
26:42the
26:42story both ways but hymas the story has been you just gotta get points be consistent either so he's
26:47actually doing that today so even though it's not a podium or a race win is that all right for
26:52the
26:5229 i i don't know yeah i don't know this uh battle for third right here um router d's closing
26:59in i
26:59don't i don't you can't all these results aren't equal okay and and i think chance yes consistency
27:06health is the number one but he's been kind of lost in the mix you know where you kind of
27:10start he's
27:11just been here yeah there's really nothing that i believe from what i've seen that he can pull out
27:16as this battle's getting really good here that he can pull out and be like yeah i i have the
27:20speed
27:20or i had this i just had this happen bad start he's just been kind of stuck there so um
27:25you know
27:26we'll see but he's got to get through it and we'll see what happens next week after this one jt
27:30and we
27:32just you remember at the top of the show we were talking about the parody in this class and and
27:35the
27:36inconsistency in years past that allowed guys like hayden vegan and joe shimota to build these gigantic
27:41gaps over everyone else well look at the way it's shaping up just here today now
27:45seth hammaker now he's doing his thing 47 points that's a really respectable score that's the type
27:51of score the championships are made of but look behind him it's already a 10 point gap to a guy
27:57like cole davies and you think about the other people that we can we consider contenders that
28:02joe shimota's the we like kitchens it's not that they're necessarily riding poorly but they're not
28:07having a great points day so is this going to be the norm that seth hammer going to be super
28:11consistent build up this huge lead or is it going to be this yo-yo effect where a lot of
28:1630 point
28:17days and who can manage the best of those it still really feels like 2025 and prior where inconsistency
28:24will reign yeah i agree with that jump jason yeah good no i i agree with that you know and
28:31especially
28:32uh for levis these guys are still battling right here it reminds you what didn't happen in his whole
28:38career pretty much the last couple of years so for him um you know he talked about on the podium
28:43consistency you know i want to work on stars don't worry about getting the whole shot just be up there
28:47well he did get the best star he goes down the first lap and now he's battling for 16th place
28:52and his teammates running away and that's jt mentioned that points gap so it's going to be
28:57difficult for him especially the guy that doesn't nail his stars as rider d turns from
29:03he was hustling to get duggy there and he finally got it yeah you kind of sense here like router
29:07d knows
29:08like if i can get him now put in his friend then i pretty much have this whole um this
29:13third place
29:13wrapped up in his moto because kate's going to start just trying to hold on top five finish for
29:18him it'd be a great day all these riders they know their competition um and probably what their mindset
29:23is so great route by both these guys defrancisco third in the photo that would be a career best for
29:30him i feel like today where we're constantly mentioning career best maybe that is the effect
29:36of deegan moving out of the class defrancisco would after the tough first moto what might have been he
29:42was up there on the first lap of the first moto then crashed with all the way back to last
29:47was
29:48just able to get it inside the points a good bounce back for him here 19th in moto one and
29:55third in moto
29:56two yeah i'm sure he came in this season you know whether he said it out in publicly but inside
30:01he
30:02probably felt like just a great opportunity for him especially all for that supercross season and i know
30:06the results haven't been there but he's we're stubborn you know he's always had speed and to have
30:12that opportunity and know who you're going to race against he's beat everybody in this field straight
30:17up and down so it's not like he's afraid of anybody opportunity that might be now that first moto was
30:22tough for him but great bounce back for him set him up soon we have found levi kitchen he's into
30:29the
30:29point 16th right now he's got landed gordon right in front of him and every position he could make from
30:35here on out would be one championship point to the good he would be down after a day where he
30:40was the
30:40fastest rider i would think be down 15 points on hanbaker if it ends like this fifth overall let's
30:47see if he can move up a bit yeah this is what i want to see from levi just as
30:50i mentioned that first
30:51moto with chance hymes that grit i want to see him get a bad start you know things aren't working
30:56out
30:56and just fight your way up you know you look at this motorcycle it's bent you know but he's out
31:01there
31:01fighting and if he can somewhere get up maybe close to the top 10 or just top 15 be a
31:07disappointing day
31:08for him but i think overall it'd be good for him in the championship jt yeah and you see that
31:13uh
31:13rider there 872 that's matisse barramay now he's a mxgp regular he's actually a french national champion
31:20as well but he's over here kind of making a wild card appearance we'll see how many races he ends
31:24up at
31:25this summer but this is a rider who has a lot of experience he was actually on the factory kawasaki
31:29mxgp team at one time so it's you know interesting to see him up here battling with the likes of
31:35land and
31:35gordon guys that are much much younger than him he has a ton of experience but yeah just another
31:39aspect of this uh you know smx world championship we always talk about yeah when i saw 27 years
31:46hold on the graphic there i would have said he was north of 30 because it does feel like he's
31:51been
31:51racing overseas for a long long time good to see him out here and representing well on the ktm
31:57rma now if this ends like this and hamaker wins the race he'll also be the points leader
32:02and i cannot believe this one that team has not led the points since adam c and cerullo won the
32:09title in 2019 oh what's happening here lux turner just not giving up he is now caught
32:16cole davies for six this guy doesn't get tired yeah no lux doesn't yeah that is a strange stat but
32:24i guess he's been having fun you know mitch he's been having a hard time finding his rotters so you
32:28know he found himself up in the uh lead but we found this one we found this one out front
32:32but yeah
32:33lux turner you can see it coming and his body language compared to cole davies lux is on the move
32:40cole seems like he's struggling with two laps to go but this guy isn't no way uh i think he
32:47just
32:47needed to show kind of like a davies light that he can do it in motocross he hasn't had disastrous
32:52results at motocross but no podiums a couple of fourths for hamaker last year kitchen now wait a
33:00minute he is getting close to the podium here he's made a couple moves now he's going after derrick
33:05kelly on the mx6 kawasaki and look at the podium map there he is one point off of dudney he
33:14just made
33:15up that point they'd be tied now dudney has the tie breaker with the better second moto kitchen needs
33:20one more spot and he will somehow have salvaged third overall uh this is it you know he's got two
33:27laps his mechanic is going to tell him and he's got what let me see uh that visit my strongest
33:33suit
33:33about six seconds to uh bowling it seems like in front of him good job this is chin yeah i
33:39made it
33:39yeah you did it five out of four people baby uh six seconds gonna be a lot to make up
33:45in two laps but
33:46what a dig from kitchen get some clean laps and um yeah i think this is a very impressive
33:54ride by him this again what we want to see be disappointing but with a bent motorcycle
33:59and how the day was great start
34:04now what could also happen his time has we said how quiet he is he's in the bottom of the
34:08screen here
34:08on the honda hrc number 29 if he passes dudney that would also give the podium to kitchen yeah
34:16it's actually a great moto uh by chance he's made a lot of passes they both of those guys got
34:21around
34:21well they're ahead of cole davy so he can get him as i was saying that championship mentality and just
34:27that grip since that chance hymas and it'll go a long ways for him if he can get around uh
34:34dudney right here now we're saying it's going to be tough for kitchen to make up
34:38six seconds and two laps but guess what he just went three seconds faster than max bolin the last time
34:43around so if he can replicate that and make the pass he could salvage the podium i don't know if
34:48having cares about any of this he's headed to the win and i don't know if hivus really cares that
34:54he's
34:55affecting the podium he's just riding for himself here yeah this all all these battles right here is
35:01about your mindset going into next week in the next weekend so these are the little battles so it might
35:06not be a win but this could be a win for them dog like oh we're close good second rod
35:11good second moto
35:12just build work on the bike and then come out next week so let's see what they're saying to the
35:18kalisaki pit will i was curious i just came over here to his mechanic just to see what they were
35:23writing there to let him know to see how away levi was that he was that close to that third
35:28spot and
35:28he's just written on the pit board they have one spot for third so they want him to keep pushing
35:33to go down levi's put the work in anyway but they just want to let him know where he's at
35:36i'm just
35:37going to tell everybody why the teams pay bonuses for podiums generally around say the 20 000 mark
35:43for a third overall the 250 class give or take so that's the reason to go for it in the
35:49next minute
35:49to two he can make himself 20 grand if he can dig deep yeah and there's that stat i was
35:57talking
35:57about the last time this team one of the best ever in the history of the sport has led the
36:03points in
36:03this class was 2019 when our man adam c cerullo won the opener led the points all year won the
36:11title
36:12step hamaker is looking to carry the red plate into round two and hangtown what a great rod i mean
36:18overall the whole pro circuit squad is awesome today i mean their bikes look good levi looked great
36:25earlier that first motor ride great the second moto step that's gotten better as well nick morano
36:30like i mean it looks good so just hope they can continue this thing but so proud of seth and
36:36happy
36:37for him this guy's a beast man i've seen him take some hits um and he keeps fighting just like
36:42this
36:43battle for fifth place i think chance knows that this possibly a podium as well i don't think he cares
36:49he's doing the best he can and i i you already know what that's going to say he's going to
36:53take the
36:53positive forget the first 48 minutes he wrote today he's going to be thinking about these last couple
36:59lapser he's looking a lot better oh he changed my mind totally i picked up on that all of a
37:05sudden
37:05you're like eh not anymore yeah i'm very fickle chance this is great this is what i needed to get
37:10out of here exactly we finally saw it and just as he got close to dundee a couple of mistakes
37:17dundee
37:17pulls it back out it's the last lap podium on the line the win is already decided it's going to
37:22be
37:22seth hammaker the only non-yamaha rider to win in supercross he's going to do it again in luna cross
37:28congratulations seth hammaker you're a winner outdoors great job seth and a great job by julian
37:36premier lovely five seconds behind him great second moto coming off injury you can see how much that
37:42means for seth we're waiting here's joe battling the indefatigable luxe turner right to the line
37:52turner is sixth on the bar x yamaha what a ride for the young man from reno and there's seth
38:00and
38:00his mom sally he got it done great job seth great job joe shibota is becoming the mike larocco you
38:07know
38:07when you turn around you see that third you just know he's always going to be here um great fight
38:12for all these guys great rides so much emotion first win for hamacre you see boomer how pumped he is
38:18with the great comeback ride kitchen we're still going to wait to see how the podium turns out here
38:25yeah i'm looking at the lap time it's going to be he was only within he was within the second
38:30levi
38:32at the moment it is a three rider tie for second third and fourth tiebreaker would go to dougney
38:38davies and then kitchen in that order
