00:03and it all starts with the start as we know and it wasn't a good one in moto one for

00:08lawrence and kind of problems really went from there they have made some adjustments
00:13they've made some adjustments on the clutch here they noticed a few things straight out
00:16of the gate with jet that they can improve on so they're just kind of hoping with that
00:20start a bit more comfort here that he will be able to either be up front or push forward
00:28well jorge jorge prado finally looked like himself after a very difficult 2025 and i
00:34paid a lot of attention to how he looked right after that first moto he wasn't tired he was
00:39completely unbothered by that 35 minute effort i think he started to back it down once he realized
00:45he wasn't going to be able to best hunter lawrence in that moto but watch for him in this second
00:50moto
00:50i'm telling you guys if he gets out front he could take this overall he looks that good
00:55yeah jt him getting out front not that crazy of a thought he's a great starter but so is the
00:5996 of
01:00hunter lawrence when i asked him yesterday about the emotions of losing that supercross title says
01:06he's gotten past that it was actually the physical side he had never raced the full 17 round supercross
01:11campaign so he said that first week back had to kind of really focus more on physical recovery
01:16clearly he has done that right with that first moto performance let's see if he can recover again
01:21and do it again in moto two and you're chase sexton running the podium the first moto was
01:28looking pretty good probably not where you wanted to be but it was solid then you go down
01:32and then you end up seven so very and very important race for you to keep this momentum
01:37going in the right direction because this year's been tough let's see if the number four on the
01:41kawasaki bounce back this next moto well mikkel harup he really started the 450 pro motocross
01:48season for triumph in the best way possible grabbing a hole shot and i'm sure a lot of people are
01:52like
01:52wait who was that 31 well yes that is dane mikkel harup and he's really trying to make a dent
01:58in this pro
01:58motocross championship and i tell you what he keeps getting starts like that he will find himself in
02:03the top 10 more often than not yeah that was impressive he has been logging a lot of laps in
02:10training said he couldn't wait to go racing he did very well on that first moto flat racing 30 second
02:15board is up we started the day saying this is probably the most anticipated opener ever in this
02:22pro motocross championship and there's still half of it left to run 450 moto two hunter lawrence
02:29for hey prado justin cooper top three in moto one will it change for the second moto there's a lot
02:36of
02:36riders capable of doing it so here we go it's time to go racing
02:49i think hunter's got it this time and prado as well no changes plessinger third and that's web i think
02:56right there cooper webb great start but jorge prada exactly where he wanted to be i thought
03:03if i'm him i think i'm gonna attack hunter lawrence early in this race as he tries to go up
03:07the inside
03:08he understands he knows the playbook with these guys i think jorge's gonna be really aggressive
03:13this opening mode this second moto here it is around the outside prado looking for running room
03:19all over hunter he goes from outside to inside hunter cuts it off
03:23great ride by hunter he's used to this we saw what ken rocks and how good he was at supercross
03:28hunter had a few times got it again though but then prado shoots to the lead put the power down
03:34you can see that the urgency of jorge he probably sat behind hunter real thinking that he might be able
03:40to get him later in the moto and i agree with jt he definitely saved something what he saved was
03:45a
03:45pass that was waiting to happen this second boat great start and you can see james he is trying to
03:50sprint now yeah he wants to be out front i mean is this one of the first times that we've
03:55seen him
03:55out front in the motocross if not at least like this it has been yeah but it's got to feel
04:00like old
04:00habit because back in europe where he won multiple titles this is where he did his best work from the
04:05front and that was the playbook and he executed it perfectly yes he did you can tell they put down
04:10some water on on the track some sections a little bit more another that last section was really
04:15slippery so hunter lawrence is the smart rider he's very patient he knows since it's a long race
04:20see how this company laps play out probably regroup and then um he knows he's got a battle with the
04:25number 26. third is plessinger hapshire then webb paranda's battling sexton sixth
04:34deegan is in 10th jett lawrence is eight so they're near each other again but not the starts they wanted
04:39yeah i think everybody especially if you're um you know hey deegan you're probably more aggressive
04:44trying to get up especially if you're close to that jet launch you don't want it to get comfortable
04:49you saw what happened that first moto but looks like uh brand has moved up i don't know if cooper
04:54webb went down and made a few mistakes but he definitely slipped down battle look at this battle
04:59i'm gonna say that's going from hampshire and fourth to harrah back in 10th oh they're all wheel to
05:05wheel right now it looks like cooper webb made the pass i mean uh got passed by his teammate so
05:11just like
05:11that first photo hey deegan jet lawrence in the pack battle for eighth and ninth i believe same
05:16position yeah a little earlier and closer to the lead and hunter lawrence doing all he can to keep
05:24prado in sight he knows what prado wants to do he's not going to let him break him and he's
05:28going right
05:29back after it look at this uh yeah it goes outside let's see if he can slingshot around there
05:36and one of the narratives with jorge during supercross today he's very tough to pass we're
05:41going to find that first hand the race craft i think it's more race craft than anything but he's
05:46in a position where he's leading and dictating the pace let's see what he does as he's going to get
05:50passed back in the same spot how about that same area on the track hunter gets him back prado up
05:57the
05:57inside down and up hunter lawrence back in the lead jt well if jorge prado's defensive riding with the
06:04football team it'd be the 85 bears like that's that's what he's bringing to the table and as
06:08soon as i say that hunter made a move on him but i'm just telling you there's some things that
06:12are
06:12very difficult in life and then there's passing jorge prado but hunter lawrence just did just that
06:17yeah now it's hunter's turn to try to get away go yeah well for he's 85 then hunter is the
06:21greatest
06:22show on turf 2001 uh rams or curve corner rams right there we got offense versus defense here
06:29offense winning it at the moment now let's see if hunter can pull away bottom box jett lawrence
06:35going after sexton i mean normally when you're talking about sexton and jett lawrence that's
06:40the battle for the moto win that's how deep the field is this year it's fifth and sixth yeah crazy
06:45go back a year for now your defending champion was chase sexton we thought he would be the only one
06:50that might be able to beat jet lawrence after a battle in the seasons and now they're battling
06:55the back of the pack but it shows you how deep it is but to me jet lawrence looks a
07:00little bit more
07:00aggressive this for um in the opening few laps this moto than he did that second one and
07:07made a mistake will i was talking a lot from team manager hrc there james just to see if they
07:14had made
07:14any adjustments for jet um you heard me in uh around the burn they're talking about the adjustment they
07:19made on the clutch for the start but as far as the bike goes there was some suspension changes made
07:24said it was a little bit soft in that first moto and he did get arm pumped during that so
07:29they're
07:29just obviously trying to avoid that avoid that sort of fighting the bike and sitting back on it
07:34there just to try and give him a little bit more comfort you know give him that ability to be
07:38able
07:38to kind of push through and late into the moto now that actually makes sense and it's expected when
07:43you think about a router who hasn't raced all year coming soft as he almost loops out right there
07:48he hasn't been pushing his pace at all at home so it's not surprising he would come to a race
07:53pick up the pace and his bike beat too soft looks a lot better um this second moto but then
07:59you got
08:00the the rotting partners coming off injury um rj and then the cowboy aaron plessinger and they're
08:09still right behind jorge so yeah they're hanging in there actually plessinger had the good start
08:13and as he's dealing with his buddy hemshire they've got the 26 in sight and here's rj doing
08:20what rj does just fighting it with everything he's got yeah if anybody knows what rj does you
08:26know he's uh always going to be there but then you got this battle of chase sexton and jet lawrence
08:31coming up on these guys so i don't know about you jason but i just sense chase looks a little
08:37bit
08:37better this moto but also jet as well they're close to uh second place right there you know one of
08:43the
08:43big questions i had this morning just running through my mind thinking about this is where would
08:46the plessinger hampshire types fit it oh no and down goes sexton yeah tough break right there i mean
08:54they put some water down but why does it's a small crash but for chase i just know for him
09:00after that
09:00first moto top three it's a big crash just mentally for him he just seems like he can't get a
09:06ball get
09:07the ball rolling especially this year hopefully gets back up and keeps charging for i think he'd have
09:12verandis and deegan behind him when he picked it up see if he can get back up to pace and
09:18actually
09:18that would move jet lawrence to third overall but it's very early right now plessinger and hepshire
09:25still battling and there's jet inviting me up here jack can finish on the podium today if things say the
09:30same and it would be his worst finish ever here at this race so podium is terrible terrible yeah
09:38but uh back to what i'm saying with this field being so deep we talk about all the riders that
09:43have won titles either the 250 or 450 class outdoors and plessinger does have one but i was wondering
09:50where would the likes of these two fit right in and honestly pretty darn well right now yeah i mean
09:55both these guys got talent you know that question i would be more concerned about aaron how healthy he is
10:01and just with the thing with rj you know you're going to get a hundred percent no matter what it
10:05is so if he's in 10 he's in 10 these leads he's going to ride the same so for him
10:09he would be where
10:10he's at aaron would be more the the wild card there but great to see him there especially coming off
10:15the injury and they're going to have their hands full with the 38 i think these all these guys are
10:20end up
10:20closing up um towards into this moto gigan battling for and this is the pro motocross debut for that bike
10:27to body desmo surely designs and red bull racing but deegan's got to go and he makes the move yeah
10:36no miranda's trying to get him back
10:40but hayden's got it done yeah he got the power down but ben down said earlier how when hayden comes

10:46and past these guys like he's just going to get the best version of them like a champion um you
10:50can see
10:51aggressive dylan what dylan didn't want that path to happen and they all want to beat him i mean at

10:56of the day you you know where this guy's going towards the future and there's a lot on the line
11:01for dylan and the ducati what's the name to hold him back there hey we've heard malcolm stewart your
11:07brother out of this photo not sure what happened actually just rode past our booth here on the
11:12motorcycle at least under his own power uh that's a bummer there for the 27. a lot of battling to

11:20as jet continues to close on hampshire and blessinger yeah i'll find out what's going on with malcolm big
11:25jay's on my flight tonight so he'll tell me all about it but yeah jet lost a little bit of
11:30time
11:30that last laugh but he must have made a mistake because he clearly was able to close in on rj
11:36and
11:36hit him with the jet effect right there rj made a mistake it's good to see the number one ron
11:41like
11:41this i can tell you looks a lot better than he did that first moto but as we talked about
11:45he's been
11:46getting better all day long jt he has been getting better but i wonder what percentage you would put on
11:51jet right now i'm gonna say 85 to 90 percent of full jet warrants power right now he just he's
11:58not
11:58doing the magical type jet maneuvers on the racetrack i think he just looks a little tentative and that
12:03could be lack of riding that could be protecting his foot that could just be hey i can't make a
12:07big
12:07mistake and hurt myself here but i'd like to know your perspective on that james and he just yes he
12:12looks
12:12fine but jet warrants is usually far from fine usually looks like one of the greatest riders i've ever seen
12:18yeah well he still looks like that uh to me and i think what it is is that yeah he
12:22might be a little
12:23bit faster if he was 100 you know attacking things but what it is is that how easy he usually
12:28makes it
12:29look you know where he's able to repeat these laps over and over and all day we've just seen it
12:34it looks
12:34hard for him to repeat to me the second moto and the end of that first moto he's starting to
12:39look to where
12:39he can rot this pace and obviously he's fast enough to close in on these guys so i think the
12:44rust is
12:44coming from not necessarily he's lacking speed but lacking that the jet lawrence i can do this
12:50in my sleep kind of um you know um you know actions that he's he's gonna have to grow with
12:56and keep working on but he looks good to me certainly look good there he closes in on plessinger
13:03nice return running third for ap who had a hip injury in supercross just a rough supercross campaign
13:10for ap all together i talked to him yesterday he said yeah i got a few motos under my belt
13:16i don't
13:17think he's coming here at a full 100 in fitness but he's riding well at least at the moment that's
13:24the good news the bad news is there's still 19 minutes and two laps to go yeah and you know
13:29ap's
13:29like i've seen this scene before you know jet lawrence that's yeah he lets him go sometimes it's a
13:35rider especially in ap position he doesn't want to hold him back and he kind of knows he's not 100
13:39percent this guy's going so it makes that pass a little easier um than maybe some other times but
13:45jet's moving towards the front and the next person is jorge prada about five seconds in front of him
13:51i don't know if he has anything for his older brother under lawrence looks great but still great
13:55ride by him yeah last time around prado's laptop was actually a little quicker than jet lawrence we'll
14:02see if it changes out that he's not in a battle and here's jet talking about just being happy
14:06he's back on the motorcycle yeah i can't wait um i've been telling my team all i want to do
14:14is just
14:14get to get on the bike just get me on the bike that's all i want to do like you
14:18know we always
14:18have all the media stuff and all that i'm just like i couldn't care less about that i just want
14:23to be on my happy in my happy place on my dirt bike you know that's where i have my
14:26most fun um
14:27i've had a lot of fun here obviously at parlor as well so i just can't wait to go out
14:32there and get the
14:33you know that adrenaline rushing again you know because you just don't get the same feeling when
14:37you're practicing to when you're racing so i'm just i'm just excited man i'm like a little kid just
14:43really wanted to go race on the weekends as a as an amateur and stuff like that so i'm excited
14:48to get
14:48back out there in this race and have those have those first race like jitters again and stuff like
14:54that and i just honestly just can't wait jet they're excited to go racing but as far as actually being
15:01on his motorcycle it was about nine weeks kind of post he was sort of getting back on it to
15:06this
15:07point and i think a lot of people including myself thought that meant a lot of outdoor testing and we
15:12know that translates not just for jet but over to hunter's bike as well because their setups are so
15:18similar but checking in with crew chief throughout hutchson today today he said no that wasn't the case
15:23because they had to wait so long for jet to sort of get back to pace after the injury that
15:28really
15:28that testing time didn't exist so he said what we're looking at for both the guys really is mostly
15:34post salt lake city which was just a few weeks back so incredible really to think that they're in this
15:40comfort point right that they are right now with the motorbike both hunter running up front then jet in
15:45third with really just a few weeks prep and he reflected back to sort of this time last year and
15:50he said
15:50to look back where we were then at the season opener and how far we've come where we are now
15:55with the motorcycle except that's just a night and day comparison yeah it is and and again as i said
16:01earlier when we're talking to jt so if you watch jet lawrence here and if you watched him in his
16:06past
16:07what he does really good he's very patient he's very light on the motorcycle and what i noticed today
16:11is that he's sitting down a little bit more more than normal a lot of these sections and where he's
16:17sitting
16:17down is anywhere where it's a lot of force on his lower body and you can tell like he's on
16:22the back
16:23he's over jumping things which tells me when he over jumps it you can see his body collapse so he's
16:28kind of protecting that foot again with this guy's dealing with a life career ending injury so um no
16:37mistake i mean not really harping on him but a lot of this is coming down for him just rust
16:41and learning
16:42how to be the new version of jet launch with this injury until he gets to go gets it back

16:50the broken talus in his foot yeah that's expected to take they were thinking a year they knew they
16:56could take time off of me with all the rehab technology that they do have but this is a pretty
17:01tough sport every time you land one of these obstacles to deal with when i heard him say yesterday
17:07that it hurts when he's riding you know with his toes the ball just put on the foot peg and
17:11he lands
17:12and jump but i'm thinking well he's riding like that all the way around the racetrack that's a lot
17:17yeah it is and if you again you watch him off that tabletop you can see him he's just uh
17:22squatting a
17:23little bit some of these areas were last year i think he'd be standing up and a lot of that's
17:27just
17:27from not riding lower body's got to build it but if you watch his body language um he's got better
17:32all
17:32day but anytime he gets in he's really a lot of g-forces on his body you can see him
17:38kind of moving
17:39his body around to absorb that and that to me it's just going to take a little bit of time
17:42but this is
17:44the worst he's going to be and he's in third place then these guys are going to be in for
17:47a long summer
17:49maybe not him yeah exactly got a long way to go to get to hunter who's 10 seconds up the
17:54road deegan
17:56makes work of rj hampshire he's still digging
17:59at a lap or two ago the entire pace picked up everyone dropped jumped into the 18s deacon's
18:06still going for it fifth now fifth in moto one yeah i think it's again good rod for uh hate
18:13and what
18:13he's going to end up doing is as learning how this 450 works out you know during the second motos
18:19because
18:19there's one thing you can have all his talent but just the bike and being at this level hate's got
18:24to
18:24learn how to work on that his whole team so he'll get better with the motorcycle as well
18:29and put the spotlight here kyle webster on the quadlock honda team filling in for the injured
18:34joey samachi multi-time champ of racing down in australia going to give him the rocket mountain atv
18:40a privateer profile hookup here good to see kyle who races a couple of races in america a year
18:46because he's been a big part of the australian team along with the lawrences at the motocross of
18:51nations talked to him yesterday he admitted it's going to be tough against his field but he's riding well
18:57right now in 13th so hovering around that top 10. yeah it's riding really good talking about how
19:04difficult this racetrack is when he's going down that hill and that drone shot you can see his bike
19:08swapping uh back and forth and us normal folks you just want to you would think slow down and he
19:15can't
19:16so you have to almost pick up speed to bring that out and it's the opposite of what your body
19:19or your
19:20mind tells you to do but these guys are always dealing with these challenges and another challenge is
19:25this racetrack yes deegan that's the challenge toward plessinger now this would be for fourth
19:34sexton still back there in seventh justin cooper great in moto one with
19:39third is back in eighth right now so we're looking at a lawrence prado lawrence
19:44overall podium today deegan would be fifth behind cooper but making some moves right now
19:51yeah i think aaron um eight's got to try to get around him if he does in the same place
19:56he made
19:56that pass on dylan because the number four kawasaki chase sexton is coming back up he can see those guys
20:04aaron's not not so fast young kid coming back but i think hate should have the momentum and that
20:09inside line is um a little bit slower going in that corner so he's got him clear i'll put deegan
20:15into
20:17fourth in the moto and now would jump him to fourth overall ahead of justin cooper
20:24halfway through the moto reminder to stock up a monster energy at stater brothers
20:31yeah jet spot uh about six seven seconds brenna hayden hayden takes a peek you can see him but
20:40it might be hard to run that number one down never count this dude out though oh you know he'd
20:45like
20:46to yeah and prado wasn't able to cover hunter lawrence in this one but jet has not really made
20:52up any time on him when he got to third so prado as expected a player today and you know
20:59he's thinking
20:59he's going to be a player in it all year yeah really impressed with uh you know all these guys
21:05but
21:05even hunter lawrence just running these two 18s consistently uh fastest guy on the racetrack
21:12holding all these guys at bay you got rj battling with plessinger again they've been battling all day
21:18and sexton is back closing the gap and rj quick move good move by rj you can tell aaron being
21:27off
21:28pretty much most of this year it seems like with definitely with a lot of injuries starting to stand
21:32up laboring a little bit easy to happen first motor of the year but coming off injuries tough for him
21:37chase is going to have to try to make this pass really quickly as he does on the inside
21:43all right yeah it's coming unraveled a bit almost understandable for plessinger
21:48not too much riding coming into the opener of pro motocross sexton trying to salvage something
21:54really hard to rate the day for sexton because of those two crashes who knows he could have been a
22:00podium position yeah but i i think chase can kind of salvage today if he's able to make the pass
22:06on rj it's not going to be where he wants to be at but he's getting a lot of info
22:10on the motorcycle
22:11give him a direction are we closed and he looks like he's aggressive but every time he's been in
22:16that spot he's kind of gone down so is that him or maybe the motorcycle but i love to see
22:21the number
22:21four moving forward it's very important and he gets only a few seconds up the track oh that could be
22:26a
22:27spicy one still 10 minutes and two laps to go as sexton makes that move on hampshire now let's flash
22:35you back to moto one while we have a moment here the one rider we expected to be in this
22:39battle that
22:39is not is the legend eli tomac the fourth time champ this is the first lap of the year left
22:44side of the
22:45screen yeah just a racing incident and the last time eli was on the racetrack in salt lake city
22:50something similar kind of happening at so uh tough break for him but more on eli let's go down the
22:56wheel thank you james well he didn't leave the facility here and he went for further evaluation
23:03and it was the neck area that they were looking at but x-ray show that there are no broken
23:08bones
23:09which is obviously very good news but there is a neck strain um and they will be taking a further
23:14look
23:14at that this week so we'll get further evaluations thank you bill yeah that's the scary part right
23:21this is now three times if you've seen tomac go down he crashed the whoops at the qualifying at
23:26cleveland supercross then the crash early in the night at salt lake city now this so they're starting
23:32to stack up there certainly hope for the best yeah rely yeah that's tough and and as you get older
23:39it's
23:39the healing the recovery part that maybe takes a little bit longer to compare it to where you're young but
23:44i like when we showed that camera you notice hunter lawrence his mechanic was smiling out there
23:48and he should be his rider looked great today it looks just like he did in supercross pretty easy
23:54still got you know almost nine minutes left plus two laps so far man 96 strong performance
24:02i don't know if for some reason it's always a little undervalued but i think everybody's just
24:07come to realize this is who hunter lawrence is indoors outdoors hybrid tracks motocross
24:13the nations it's been a long time since this guy has not been up front on any type of track
24:19yeah
24:19i think you can look at that because of jet lawrence i think brother you know i mean it's hard
24:25you look at hunter lawrence i mean without his brother there he's got what three four championships
24:30especially um you know last couple years but it's hard to be in the shadow of your younger brother but
24:37because he was in the shadow man to to be out here fighting and never give up and to be
24:43supportive of
24:43your brother keep that family relationship and continue being better yourself that's this is what
24:49you're seeing and i'll go back and say what i said earlier no one has raised this version of hunter
24:55lawrence not even jet lawrence and if this is the version of hunter lawrence i don't know even healthy
25:01this guy's going to be hard to beat right now because he's only getting better you can see it
25:06starting from supercross to here yep and it was getting much closer in pro motocross last year
25:11between them than it was the year before when hunter was a 450 rookie and then we saw the steps
25:16he took
25:16indoors he just keeps improving and he's looking to go one one today i wouldn't quite say dominant
25:22fashion because prado has been close but he did top the qualifying sessions as well
25:27will it's about as close as you can come to a perfect day it is indeed and rookie seasons you
25:33just
25:33talked about it they're very they're very telling right when we look back at jets rookie season and it
25:40was clear that was clear car first the fastest qualifying goes one one when we look at that rookie
25:45season you talked about and hunter there back in 2024 he was third fastest qualifier went two three
25:51for second and that was obviously against his brother so really we don't have to look very far to to
25:58find
25:59why hunter lawrence is as good as he is uh we just look at the stats but like you said
26:04it's kind of his
26:05brother and his incredible performances sometimes confuse that a little bit um but it's right there and
26:11it has been since 2024 when he was a rookie jt yes well and uh for more on that hunter
26:17lawrence story
26:17johnny i want to ask you about the days following that salt lake city round and i'm sure it was
26:23really
26:23hard to judge us for hunter but what went on in the first couple of weeks that we're trying to
26:28just get
26:28hunter back to zero back mentally back to normal before he can even start thinking about coming and
26:34winning here at fox raceway yeah that's a good way to put it i mean definitely um you know we
26:40were so
26:40close but then uh kenny was a little bit better at the end and um yeah like it takes a
26:46while to get
26:47over that for sure i mean we don't sit there and dwell on it for a long time but but
26:51hunter's uh pretty
26:52tough on himself i'm a lot like that also so you know i don't have to scold him and say
26:58anything to
26:58him just kind of that down time 48 hours or so and then i think he waited about three days
27:05to get
27:05on his outdoor bike but it was pretty much already ready for him because jett has done a lot of
27:09the
27:10work for him outdoors great job and uh this is a heck of a way to bounce back thank you
27:15thanks a lot
27:15yeah i had a chance to talk to johnny and even those guys and what you think having i think
27:21what
27:21helped hunter is one his brother coming back from injury even with hey deegan coming in there was a lot
27:26of hype so hunter um you know knew he kind of had to come out here but i think there
27:30was a lot of
27:31pressure that maybe wasn't on him because of what jet was coming back there was a lot of talk about
27:36him
27:36and hunter slots underneath that radar but even more than that i think having that extra week off
27:42between supercross and motocross this year i think it eliminated to that um hangover effect that we
27:48kind of said from the supercross and it gives him time to kind of get over what he went through
27:53that heartbreaking supercross and he's back out here but again man you didn't you said you didn't
27:58want to say it but i'm gonna tell you right here this is a beat down this is okay okay
28:03this this race
28:04is i know it's only seven seconds but it's not even close this guy's in a whole different league of
28:09his
28:09own right now and if he needed to pull it out to 10 he could do it he's on he's
28:14on rails today and he did
28:18go right back after prado as soon as prado got him in this moto it did not take him long
28:22to regain
28:23control which maybe does show what he has under the hood if he needs it yeah yeah absolutely jt

28:52no it is and again if you look at his brother and even some of races hunters won i mean

28:59he's out there he's always wants to pull out to 30 seconds this is how they kind of win races

29:04kind of keep it close but he can turn up this cruise really easy and like i said i've seen

29:12better throughout the supercross season to where there was races that it looked just like this
29:16and yeah this race isn't even close or he's doing a great job but he'll watch this and understand
29:21he's got to pick it up to attack that 96. there's the gap seven seconds now to prado on the

29:30jet now has it down to five seconds it's been a lot of work and for all of it he's
29:36made up about one
29:37maybe one and a half seconds in the last 10 15 minutes so prado showing some strength enough to
29:44hold jet from you can just see him back there really getting a hook in him yeah i think jorge

29:50same thing kind of happened at first moto as we take a look at hey deegan um you know it's
29:54that rabbit
29:55hunter lawrence is gone so it's hard for him and chase um and speaking of chase yeah um you know

30:01sector i think it'd be a win if he's able to get around hey deegan but yeah jorge prada it's
30:05hard
30:05to race for and it's easy to see jet close in but maybe still think jorge probably overall better if
30:12you needed to he'll hold this thing on but at the end of the day still a great ride by

30:17of these guys actually yeah prado 2.0 here much better in year two in america than last year last
30:24year was just around the top five in this race which actually seemed fine but it kind of went sideways

30:29there back to this battle chase sexton digging and look most of the fire from deegan has been aimed
30:38squarely at jet lawrence but i cannot imagine that any of these proud guys that have won this title
30:43before like chase sexton are fans of the brash talk from the rookies so let's see if sexton can
30:50dig deep here i'm sure he would be smiling under the helmet if he could make this happen yeah trust

30:55chase wants to get to him it's whether he's set up he'll come throw in the motorcycle to push that
31:00extra little bit but you know i don't think it's maybe chase is probably upset that deegan wasn't
31:05talking about him because he's like man i just won this championship i am the guy and it's almost like
31:11he's got replaced so if he could get close to him he's going to want to beat him for a
31:14lot of different
31:15reasons but again i think it's important for chase to just mentally he wins this it'd be a somewhat of
31:21a
31:22silver lining in this day if he can recover after two crashes knowing that he possibly could have
31:27been on the podium was able to show that speed and run down hey deegan and um you know finish
31:32in
31:32that top five a lot of work with that motorcycle chase told me yesterday a lot better than where they
31:37were even just a few weeks ago with the outdoor testing they made some major changes to the bike
31:42but he kept cautioning that look it feels good at home but you never know until you go racing
31:47i would say overall a positive day speed wise for him in those crashes he is not giving up and
31:53deegan
31:54doesn't want to let him get it uh it isn't and you know you look at his teammate unfortunately garrett
31:59that first motor he got into it with eli but he's actually been riding really good and that's when
32:03you know uh kawasaki as a team has made improvements because garrett's looking good today as well so does
32:09chase sexton and i know for chase this is like the worst position if you can't get around hayden you're
32:14that close you had enough time to be able to get him and you couldn't it's tough you might as
32:19well
32:19just be like i either want to pass this dude or i don't even want to be close to where
32:23it's like
32:23that carrot tangle in front of you he's a little bit quicker than deegan last lap around it looks
32:29like he's closed up a little more on this one but running out of time yeah made a mistake going
32:35down
32:35the hill and to me chase bikes little soft looks like a little off because you can tell when he
32:40starts
32:41pushing it you see he makes those mistakes as he's going down the hill but when he's open flat part
32:46of the racetrack is where he can use his legs use his body he's able to close in on hay
32:50deegan so
32:50hard position to be in because you want to you have to pick up that pace to close that gap
32:54but when you do that it's easy to make a mistake and um chase is trying
33:04two lap board is out clock conspired for the leader hunter lawrence i wasn't sure if he was
33:09going to beat the clock or not he did not so it is two to go and sexton still digging
33:17i think a lot of people james were worried they they just anyone who wants to see this field continue
33:22to have these contenders in it wanted to see a good day from chase is this enough to see some
33:27positive
33:28sides yeah i i think so i mean the bike does look better i mean you got to build somewhere
33:33he looks
33:34more racy to me than he did at um for most of the supercross usually if he went down he
33:40would just kind
33:40of fall back in the in the pack so to me he's having that charge i like that i know
33:46chase and i know he
33:47wants to win but man he's got to find that silver lining you know it's not going to sit well
33:52and paint
33:53do you get ridden away from him it's not going to sit well but at the end of the day
33:56i think him and
33:57kawasaki got a lot to build on and both those guys are within the top 10. going to a place

34:02remember what happened a couple years ago had one of the greatest rods ever coming 40th the first
34:08he's had some experience and some good times up in next week's race and hang down yeah i think keep

34:13the game keep improving that motorcycle would be great to have a summer with sexton doing sexton-like
34:18things but the ante is up with the improvement of hunter lawrence what supercross hangover what
34:25supercross heartbreak right back at it send a hello out there to ken roxon the new supercross champ maybe
34:33we'll get him back later in the summer for a pro motocross event but you know you'll see him back
34:38for the smx playoffs but hunter lawrence has it on lock today and what a bounce back it is we're
34:46not going
34:47to talk about that heartbreak he says that it still stinks which is understandable but that is not
34:52going to be a storyline going forward yeah it's not and you know honestly i don't even know if it's
34:58a
34:58bounce back i don't know if hunter even believes in that because this is what i saw all supercross
35:03we've been witnessing it like this is more like hunter lawrence uh most of the year and uh just his
35:08his attitude his mindset i don't think he sees his bounce back he's back on track where he's belonged
35:15and um again it looks very easy to me watching him smile you're on camera camera
35:24mad dogging it you're right yeah we've seen that in the pit board a couple times the wins for hunter
35:29won a bunch in supercross and this will be the first one one of his 450 career he won the
35:36overall
35:37and iron man with a 2-2 in the past somehow it's only the second ever 450 overall win for
35:43him although
35:44he's been on the podium it feels like just about every time he's lined up in 450 motocross
35:50yeah absolutely just going back to your point real quickly as we talked last year and hunter lawrence
35:55you know finishing second to brother if i'm hunter when jeff was healthy i was right there every weekend
36:01weekend week out almost one point from winning the um x-men's world title last couple years
36:07i'm better this year so i don't think he looks at it as like yeah i'm only winning because of
36:11jet i was
36:12close to beating him last year when he was fully healthy i'm better and this is the results you're
36:18seeing so hunter lawrence is on point today yep he is going to be one to reckon with no matter
36:23how much
36:24everyone else can improve you know they will but they got a long way to go because he's got it
36:29up to
36:30over 10 seconds over prado now chit lawrence not giving up still closing on prado down to the end
36:35here prado's been around the block time or two you gotta figure he's got that under control though
36:42yeah it was at some point uh jet was closing and then jorge picked up the pace and stretched it
36:46out but
36:47he lost a lot of time in the last you know lap and a half so i don't know if
36:51that's lappers he made a
36:52mistake i think he had him pretty um you know pretty covered at that point well hunter lawrence
36:59i sent him moto one the king of the left brain thinking very analytical logical unemotional
37:04about it that paid off in the face of some heartbreak in supercross he just focuses on process
37:11and lets the results unfold and today that process was perfect fastest in both qualifying sessions
37:18wins moto one and with an even bigger lead here in moto two he's able to cruise it on home
37:27hunter lawrence he's the man today a much hyped opener not enough talk about him but he's got all the
37:34headlines now one one and look at this battle jett lawrence gets to the rear wheel of vorge prado
37:42right at the end and chase sexton getting to the rear wheel of deegan these guys want it they they
37:49want
37:49it you know what i like to see from jett lawrence i like that aggressive tear off pull he was
37:54mad
37:54that means he's feeling back more like gentleman he don't like to lose good start
37:59already not satisfied with third well i mean in this case to me he's struggling today right yeah yeah
