TREE WORKER RESCUES CAT STRANDED HIGH IN TREE

WITH VID

By Lakshyartha Sharma

Watch as a stranded cat is finally rescued after spending nearly 24 hours trapped high in a tree while desperate owners searched for help.

Lexcie Curtiss captured the emotional rescue in Michigan, USA.

The video shows a tree worker carefully climbing high into the tree to reach Howard the cat, who had been stuck far above the ground overnight.

Lexcie said she first realized Howard was missing around 9 p.m. and spent the entire night searching for him before finally spotting him in the tree the following morning.

After the local fire department reportedly explained they no longer handle animal rescues, Curtiss turned to social media for help and began contacting tree service companies.

Most companies either declined or warned about liability concerns, while one company explained cats often come down on their own after several days.

Unwilling to leave Howard trapped any longer, Curtiss pleaded for help until Brandon from Brawner’s Tree Service agreed to come out during Memorial Day weekend.

The rescuer successfully climbed the tree and safely brought Howard back down to the ground.

According to Curtiss, the workers refused payment for the rescue, though the family insisted on tipping them afterward.

The heartwarming clip was shared on Instagram where one user commented: "Disappointed in the fire department. Ive always heard they rescued cats."

00:00If you're wondering what I'm doing outside, you see that tree? There's my cat.
00:08Yep, he's all the way up that damn tree. I called the fire department and they said it's
00:13not an emergency, so they switched me over to an AI and I talked to them, told them everything,
00:19and they said, we'll have someone review your thing. So now I'm just waiting to hear if someone
00:24can come get my cat out of the tree. Literally last night I was like, I don't see him, I
00:28can't
00:28find him, he's not home. I checked it at 3 a.m., 5 a.m. Then this morning we came
00:33out here looking,
00:34I was like, short spot, I was like, we can hear him, we can hear him. Then his sister's at
00:39the
00:39bottom of the tree. Isn't she dancing for him? What is she doing? I even walked past him this
00:44morning and not realized he was there. And so they said they don't deal with that stuff.
00:49So they said he'll come down on his own. Just put a can of cat food at the bottom of
00:54the tree,
00:54he'll come down. Girl, I don't think he's coming down this big ass tree. He's terrified. He's been
01:00up there all night. He's not coming down. Well, my man will let me go up the tree. He tried
01:04going
01:04up the tree. Cat's still not coming down. I posted it on Facebook. People are saying you need to call
01:09a tree company, but tree companies cost money. Someone said they cost them $200 to get their cat down
01:15out of a 50 feet space. And I'm pretty sure he's about 100 feet up. I don't know. We don't
01:21have $200 to
01:22drop like that. Not a great morning start off to being married, I guess. Not budging.
01:30It's been four hours since you've seen me last. And yeah, he's still up there. I've been calling
01:34around tree companies saying they're not coming out. I did get one person. One person said that
01:39they will come out, but I have to wait three days and it is $200. I don't think I can
01:46wait three days.
01:46First off, I'm not gonna be able to sleep at night knowing that my cat is so close,
01:51but yet so far away and I can't do anything. Then the second thing in two days is our wedding
01:57reception. So we're gonna be gone all weekend. I can't monitor him tomorrow or the day after.
02:02He needs to come out or come down. I left some can of cat food. I showed it to him.
02:08I popped it open.
02:08He heard me pop it open and I left it at the bottom of the tree. So I don't know.
02:15I'll update you when he comes down.
