54:43Сенсational.
54:45Led, controlled it,
54:47but had to fight
54:48for it as well.
54:52Well, Georgia is down there in the
54:54melee with our race winner.
54:56Oh, well, it's four wins
54:58on the season, three on
55:00street courses alone for Alex
55:02Blow. Chip just came down to say congratulations.
55:04Smiles all around for the team.
55:06I have to know, with four wins on the season
55:08already, is this feeling as
55:10joyous every time? Yeah, it feels
55:12like the first time, honestly. It was a tough one.
55:14Very tough one.
55:15But the team did an incredible job
55:18once again with the strategy pit stops
55:20were incredible. The number
55:2210 Honda Honda looked really good
55:24and I think it's always
55:26that it's been on track, it had wins.
55:28So, incredible, incredible
55:30run, incredible start of the year.
55:32But it was tough, very tough with the
55:34temperature on the tires, on the restarts, I couldn't
55:36really be at the level
55:38of Kirkwood and Power
55:39and all other guys
55:42that they were just being able
55:43to get the tight end a little bit
55:46higher than me. But
55:47still, another win
55:49feels incredible and can't wait for the next one.
55:52It really was tough. You really had to fight
55:53for this one. But what set you
55:55and your team apart?
55:57Just track position. Being able to be up front
55:59was key. On the first
56:01stand I started struggling. Will
56:03and then I kind of put myself in a bad spot
56:06and lost two
56:08positions with Lungert
56:10and I don't know who else. Oh, McLaughlin.
56:12So, I kind of
56:14yeah, lost those positions
56:16there but the team
56:17made a great call
56:19just to be saved with the yellow
56:21and kind of worked out for us. So.
56:23Massive congratulations. 23rd win
56:26of his career. That's Alex Pelo,
56:28victorious here on the streets of Detroit.
56:33Kyle Kirkwood,
56:34P2. Why you always messing with me, man.
56:36But you had a fantastic day.
56:37Started sixth up to P2. Already
56:39saw you dissecting the race with your
56:41strategist Brian Herter. That's a pretty
56:44great day, right? From where you started to where you ended.
56:46Yeah, you know, I'm
56:48happy with that. You know, Sam's Club Honda was really
56:49fast. We took a little bit of a gamble
56:52on tires there being the
56:53only guy on reds at the end.
56:55It nearly paid off, right? It was so, so
56:57close. It was two untimely yellows. We
56:59almost covered below when we were on primes
57:01which would have been phenomenal. And then
57:03we had that other yellow where I had them lined
57:05up. I was ready to make a dive on them
57:07and of course it comes out after
57:09I burned 10 seconds I overtake.
57:11So, and then from there we just didn't really have another
57:13shot at it. I think I just used up my tires too
57:15much to try that one pass and
57:17the yellow came out as I was trying it.
57:19So, I'm happy with P2
57:22though, you know, from six I'm very happy with that.
57:23Thanks to the team. Andretti Global
57:25pit stops were phenomenal today. Absolutely
57:27flawless. And I mean
57:29you can't really run much better of a race than that from
57:31sixth. Congratulations, Kyle.
57:34Kevin. Graham Rahal
57:35has as many podiums as he's had in a season
57:37since 2020. And you did it
57:39today after you were back in the back.
57:41How? Yeah, well
57:43we had a lot of pace when we needed
57:45it. We got lucky a little bit with the yellow.
57:47Although having said that, that was the strategy
57:49we played. When we got spun we knew
57:51to, okay, we're going to pit on the very early
57:53side of this window and we've got
57:55to go a long, long, long way
57:56and save a lot of fuel. But we
57:59also got to get a yellow and it worked out perfect.
58:01Which we know during the pit cycles is when you typically
58:03get yellows. So, Brian Barnhart
58:05did a wonderful job calling that.
58:07Honda, wonderful job here in the Motor City. I know
58:09it feels good for them and the fuel mileage was really
58:11key for us. And the drivability, man
58:13those restarts, I didn't have any push to pass
58:15left because when I was passing all those guys
58:17to make my way back through the field
58:18I had to use it all. And so
58:21for Fifth Third Bank and United
58:22Rentals and Mobile One, all of our
58:24partners, it feels extremely
58:27good to have a season like this. And
58:28look, we had a little
58:31bit of bounces too, but we also stayed out
58:32of the carnage other than the Kiffin part
58:34watching Power and
58:36McLaughlin take each other out and all the
58:38other guys bang. So, luckily
58:41just stayed clear, man. It was a good day. My girls
58:43are here for the first time, for the first podium
58:44I think maybe ever. All my
58:47daughters are here, so it's special for me.
58:49Big day for the Rahal and Forrest family.
58:51Graham Rahal comes home third.
58:53Well, that's lovely. Guys, great
58:55day, great race, some
58:57battling drives, some heroic ones as well.
58:58Well, inappropriate here in Detroit. This is
59:00such a gritty city.
59:02My drivers today, my picks
59:04in terms of drivers of the day, Graham
59:06Rahal there, he got hit three times from
59:08behind and Joseph Newgarden busted
59:10up foot, just drags out
59:12a top ten. That could be a big
59:14deal down the stretch with the points. And for me
59:16guys, I mean, we've seen Alex Pillow win a lot
59:18of races. It's usually from the front,
59:20cool, calm, walking away with it. He
59:22had to fight for this one. It wasn't easy,
59:24but that ten team on the stand, that driver
59:26in the car still executed
59:29absolutely perfectly. Today was
59:30about execution, about getting ahead
59:33of the chaos, something that
59:34Alex Pillow does so
59:36well. Coming up next on Fox, it's
59:38Fox NHRA, Potomac Nationals
59:41and our next IndyCar race.
59:43It's only a couple days away,
59:45St. Louis next Sunday
59:46at 9pm Eastern.
59:49We'll see you then.
59:50We'll see you then.
