00:00David, presidential candidate Ivan Cepeda represents the continuity of
00:04Gustavo Petro's social model. What are the key electoral advantages and
00:09disadvantages of running on a platform of deepening reforms to health, pensions
00:15and labour? Yes, so of course Ivan Cepeda represents the
00:24the the candidature who is connected with the historical memory, human rights, the
00:32peace and defense of the victim. He is beyond a senator, he is a human right
00:40defender who was victim of the national conflict in Colombia. So his program is
00:47not a simple list of promise. He is the only candidate who has a program
00:53where you can count 400 pages where he taking count everybody. So the farmers,
01:01students, African descent, indigenous people, entrepreneurs, but as well the
01:08Colombians who live outside of the country and this is very important. The other
01:14biggest candidates like Abelardo de las Priegas and Paloma Valencia, they don't have
01:22something proposed as a governmental plan. They never proposal taking count these
01:31people. If you see the actual plan, governmental plan of Abelardo de las Priegas, you
01:38have only three pages. This is incredible. I think that nobody around the world who
01:43want to be president has only three pages as a governmental proposal as well for Paloma Valencia, who has only
01:5413 pages and all what they present has not logical when you think how you want to implement what they
02:05propose.
02:06I think that the craft of the policy of Ivan Cepeda is that, of course, he don't represent this right
02:19or extreme right who wants to send and to sell as well a message of a spectacle or like a
02:30circus for the country.
02:34This is not an improvised candidature. He represents a long way building by the denunciation against the paramilitarism.
02:47He proposed policies in defense of the victims and the research of the truth and an issue, political issue to
02:56the armed conflict.
02:57And this is very important because many people criticize that the Colombian government, so the petro government, don't make an
03:08out to stop the conflict and to fight the narco-trafficants and others on the country.
03:16But this is the country who, in this century, fight the corruption, fight the narco-trafficants and at the same
03:28time he could promote social policies.
03:31If we go back again to the policies applied by President Uribe, Santos and Duque, it will be very, very
03:41sad because we're going to go back again to the forced disparation, internal deployment and many other policies who were
03:52denounced as well by the United Nations at the Human Rights Council and others.
03:56And, of course, it could be much more sad if we take into account the geopolitical context lived actually in
04:05Latin America.
04:07So, David, looking ahead to the future,
