01:15According to a report provided by Governor Victor Clark, the death toll rose to eight victims following the complete collapse
01:22of the Lamar Suite residential building.
01:25Clark also emphasized that the situation in the municipality of Silva is critical due to the cutoff of water and
01:32electricity services and the overflowing of rivers, which are complicating rescue efforts.
01:38The regional leaders stated that rescue teams continue to make progress in their rescue efforts in collaboration with medical teams
01:45and volunteers.
01:51Acting President Darcy Rodriguez visited a large-scale joint operation at the Jose Maria Vargas Export Complex, which currently serves
01:59as the main distribution center for humanitarian aid in La Guaira.
02:03Moving from initial collection points like La Carlota, members of the National Armed Forces and social mission workers are working
02:11in unison to sort clothing, medicine and food shipments arriving from across the country.
02:17This synchronized effort ensures immediate distribution directly to emergency shelters, local hospitals and public sub-kitchens to guarantee that no
02:27affected family is left to fend for themselves.
02:29Officials reiterated that the state's full social protection framework remains entirely active to support citizens through these difficult hours.
02:44Venezuela Latin President Darcy Rodriguez has convened an emergency meeting with the Executive Cabinet to reinforce social protection policies following
02:53the June 24 earthquakes.
02:55The administration is defining operational strategies to install temporary shelters for families who lost everything to the natural disaster.
03:04A key pillar of the government's comprehensive response strategy involves advancing large-scale infrastructure reconstruction projects across devastated communities.
03:14Officials stated that deployment teams will remain mobilized around the clock to guarantee full humanitarian support.
03:30Venezuela Latin President Darcy Rodriguez
03:32Venezuela Latin President welcome the arrival of rescue teams from Qatar to assist in the search efforts.
03:37The Latin President stated, welcome Qatar.
03:40Thank you for joining our response efforts with humanitarian aid and rescue teams to support the families who need it
03:46today.
03:51In this context Qatar set up an air breach to deploy a contingent of security forces in support to Venezuela
03:58following the double earthquake that struck the country.
04:01The delegation of search and rescue specialists together with medical personnel and field hospitals arrived to assist those affected by
04:08the recent devastating earthquakes.
04:10The delegation received a formal welcome thanking them for their willingness and cooperation.
04:23Two aircraft from the Indian Air Force arrived at Maiketia International Airport in Venezuela carrying more than 35 tons of
04:31basic aid.
04:32After 23 hours of flight the Indian delegation arrived in Caracas transporting 66 tons of supplies.
04:39The delegation includes a few hospital units of the Indian Army, more than 35 tons of medicine, medical equipment and
04:45relief supplies as well as two C-130 Hercules aircraft.
04:51This trans-oceanic deployment confirms India's growing role as a humanitarian ally.
05:03And the third Brazilian Air Operation carrying emergency humanitarian assistance arrived in Venezuela following the seismic events in the South
05:12American country.
05:13The Brazilian government activated an international logistical deployment to assist the population affected by the earthquakes of June 24 and
05:22to strengthen mutual cooperation in the South American region.
05:26The aircraft bound for Venezuela transported a batch of five disaster kits containing around 111,800 essential medicines and a
05:36complementary module for the installation of a field hospital.
05:40The Brazilian troops are responsible for setting up the sanitary facilities which have the capacity to generate up to 5
05:48,000 liters of drinking water per day with the aim of preventing diseases in the affected areas.
06:01And Venezuela has received a new group of international brigade members to support the surge efforts in areas affected by
06:08the double earthquake.
06:09The humanitarian support arrived from Costa Rica with elite 48 search and rescue specialists including 12 tons of specialized technical
06:17equipment who will be deployed in the affected areas.
06:20Additionally, the deployment includes tools for locating and recovering people in confined spaces and collapsed structures.
06:35A major ongoing rescue efforts in La Guayra and Caracas following the collapses, food prepared by teachers and parents bearing
06:42messages of support will be distributed at shelter centers.
06:45At the La Carlota School Collection Center in Caracas volunteers have prepared a variety of food supplies to be sent
06:53to shelters for those affected by the powerful earthquakes.
06:57The containers have messages of encouragement and solidarity written on their leads offering support and comfort to families during these
07:07difficult times.
07:15In Cadillamar, displaced families have spent the night outdoors setting up tents and makeshift camps in streets, plazas and support
07:23courts.
07:23Following the two earthquake homes either collapsed or sustained severe structural damage, forcing residents to seek refuge in open spaces
07:33out of fear of aftershocks.
07:36The Bolivarian government has declared Cadillamar a disaster zone and deployed civic military units to assist more than 70,000
07:43affected families.
07:44As rescue efforts continue amid the rubble, these families await relocation to safe shelters that can offer protection from the
07:51elements.
07:59In Venezuela, the nations of humanitarian aid for families affected by the double earthquake that hit the nation continue.
08:06From Caracas, our colleague Michelle Ramirez tells us the details.
08:11In the city of Caracas, more than 10 collection centers have been set up to receive donations from Venezuelan citizens.
08:21One of the main collection centers is located at Parque del Oeste Ali Primera, where young people and adults come
08:27to make donations and assist those affected by the disaster with clothing, food and medicine.
08:36The facilities of the Central University of Venezuela joined the effort to collect various essential items and household goods with
08:43the sole aim of serving those most in need.
08:47I'm sorry. I'm a little like everyone else.
08:54If there's one thing that defines us Venezuelans, it's that we're very close knit.
08:59And it's time for everything to work out.
09:03Let's get through this quickly.
09:05Let's call on people to come.
09:07Even if it's just a little, every little bit adds up.
09:12And let's pray a lot.
09:14The park Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda in the eastern part of the city and the grounds of the iconic Esfera
09:21de Soto accepted donations to be transported to La Guayra State.
09:24We came to help anyone who needs it.
09:27There are many motorcyclists and riders of both high and low displacement motorcycles.
09:31We're heading to La Guayra, El Junquito, and all the affected areas of Greater Caracas, including the hospitals.
09:38We are sending medical supplies, first aid kits, and kits to rescue people trapped in La Guayra, in the buildings
09:44where they are stuck.
09:45And we are also sending food and provisions.
09:47A network of volunteers joined this effort at the Polidro de Caracas to distribute humanitarian aid in the most vulnerable
09:54areas.
09:55This is a huge need we all share, both in terms of personnel and commitment, and with a clear sense
10:01of duty.
10:01As health care workers, we feel obligated to be here.
10:04If you go in your own vehicle, they'll ask for your vehicle registration and your ID.
10:09And they'll give you this reflective vest so you can help out.
10:13They're mostly giving priority to medical personnel, transportation workers, and anyone involved in rescue efforts.
10:20These efforts highlight the spirit of solidarity that characterizes the Venezuelan people,
10:25as well as their resilience, while rescue operations to save lives from under the rubble continue.
10:30On camera, Marcos da Silva and Michelle Ramirez, reporting from Caracas, Venezuela, for Telesur.
10:37On Venezuela, the Caracas Metro announced that service will resume on Sunday, June 28th.
10:43In an official statement, the Caracas Metro system issued the following message.
10:47We informed our users that starting this Sunday, June 28th, the Caracas Metro will resume normal operations across all subway
10:54lines and metro-boost routes.
10:56Service is being re-activated following the successful completion of a thorough inspection of all infrastructure, trucks, and electromechanical systems.
11:15In our news, Paul Leo XIV expressed his spiritual solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the damage
11:22caused by the earthquakes that devastated some regions of the country.
11:28Dear brothers and sisters, I wish to express my closeness to our brothers and sisters in Venezuela, affected by the
11:39recent earthquakes,
11:43which have claimed numerous lives, left many injured and caused extensive material damage.
11:54As I pray that the Lord may grant eternal rest to those who have died, I renew my spiritual closeness
12:00to their families, to the injured, and to all those affected by this tragedy.
12:08I also express my gratitude and encouragement to everyone working generously in the search, rescue, and relief efforts.
12:19And now we have a short break coming up.
12:20But first, remember that you can join us on TikTok and tell us through English, where you will find news
12:24in different formats, news updates, or much more.
12:27We will be right back and stay with us.
12:40Welcome back.
12:41In Argentina, a political storm broke out following the resignation of the chief of staff three months after taking office.
12:48Manuel Adorni resigned from his position as chief of staff after a month of pressure due to a scandal involving
12:54a surge in his net worth during the few months he held public office,
12:59and for which he was under investigation by the courts for illegal enrichment.
13:04Adorni himself posted a letter on his social media accounts thanking Argentine president Javier Millet for the trust he had
13:11placed in him.
13:12He also described the reasons for his resignation claiming that he made a decision to protect his family from media
13:19attacks by the public.
13:36In France, the heat wave here in the country has caused the death of thousands of people in recent weeks.
13:42The French Public Health Service issued a report confirming more than 1,400 deaths reported between June 25 and 26,
13:50compared to an average of between 900 and 1,000 deaths recorded in April and May.
13:55The authorities' main concern is the 40% increase in deaths in single-person households,
14:00a phenomenon that mainly affects people over the age of 65.
14:04In this regard, Health Minister Stephan Ries stated that due to the high temperatures, many hospitals in Paris are operating
14:12at the limit of their capacity.
14:20Moving now to the United States, raging flames are forcing entire communities in Utah to evacuate their homes in mass.
14:27The unstopped bands of the wildfires has already deburred over 7,700 hectares in just 24 hours.
14:35Overwhelmed authorities are urging residents to leave immediately before the fire blocks, the last escape routes.
14:42So far this season, more than 70,800 hectares have been reduced to ashes.
14:48As smoke darkens the sky and families flee with only what they can carry, extreme weather and a lack of
14:55preventive policies are deepening the hardship for those living on the front lines.
15:08And we change topic.
15:09The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, has called for a thorough investigation into the death of
15:15migrants held in the custody of United States authorities.
15:18Speaking on behalf of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights,
15:22I call for death in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody to be investigated promptly and those responsible held
15:31to account.
15:31The lack of transparency around them undermines accountability.
15:43The European Union has vowed to firmly defend its rights after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened retaliatory tariffs against
15:50European countries,
15:51imposing digital services taxes on American companies.
15:55In a statement on Friday, an EU Commission spokesperson asserted that the EU and its member states retain sovereign authority
16:05to regulate economic activities within their jurisdiction.
16:09The spokesperson warned that any unilateral measures targeting the EU's legitimate policies would be met with swift and resolute responses
16:18to safeguard the bloc's rights and regulatory autonomy.
16:22The digital services tax has emerged as a persistent flashpoint in transatlantic trade relations.
16:37And now we have our second short break.
16:39But before we invite you to watch the eleventh episode of our program, Overlap Conversations from Across the World,
16:46this Sunday, June 28th at 9 p.m. Caracas time and on Monday, June 29th at 9 a.m. Beijing
16:51time.
16:51This episode will be dedicated to the war on the rules-based order.
16:55Stay tuned with Telesur English. We will be right back.
17:17Welcome back.
17:19The United States President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran with annihilation after the U.S. Army violated the
17:25memorandum of understanding for the second time.
17:27President Donald Trump says the United States is in a position of strength after launching new strikes on multiple targets
17:34in Iran.
17:35In a post on truth, Social Trump warned that the U.S. could eventually be forced to militarily complete the
17:41job if tensions continue to escalate.
17:44He also claimed that if that were to happen, the Islamic Republic of Iran would no longer exist.
17:49In this context, after Trump's comments, Kuwait's military said its air defense systems were responding to what it described as
17:57hostile missile and drone attacks.
17:59Meanwhile, air raid sirens were also activated in Bahrain, according to the country's interior ministry.
18:11And precisely for a second day in a row, the United States belated the peace agreement in the Middle East,
18:16attacking Iranian infrastructure in Qashem Island and Syria.
18:19The U.S. Central Command 2 announced that it carried out additional strikes against Iranian military infrastructure in southern Iran
18:27and Qashem Island on early Sunday.
18:29At the same time, Iranian media reported explosions across Hormuzgan province, including near the village of Tahirqi in Syria, where
18:39projectiles reportedly struck a communications tower.
18:42This latest escalation of hostilities comes amid a memorandum of understanding signing between the U.S. and Iran meant to
18:49bring peace to the Middle East region.
18:52However, constant violations of the agreement by U.S. military has caused great uncertainty across the region.
19:04In response to the latest imperialist aggression, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck U.S. military bases in
19:11the region.
19:11The IRGC announced in the early hours on Sunday that its naval forces and airspace force carried out a joint
19:19missile and drone operation targeting eight million U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.
19:24The Iranian forces say it destroyed Ali al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the headquarters of the U.S.
19:315th Fleet at Naval Support Activity Baron in the Port of Salman, assuring that the targets were destroyed.
19:39The group further said the operation was a direct response to recent U.S. attacks, which it said targeted Iranian
19:45coastal facilities.
19:46In the statement, the IRGC also warned that any future attacks would result in harsher response.
20:03At least six people were killed in a terrorist attack on the rangers' headquarters in the city of Qarashi, Pakistan.
20:10Among the victims are three members of the local rangers' headquarters, while three terrorists were killed during the response operation.
20:18The attack, which has not yet been claimed by any group, occurred amid growing instability in the region.
20:24Authorities have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the attack and to strengthen security measures in the city.
20:32The international community has expressed its solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan.
20:44In Palestine, the Israeli regime's occupation has once again targeted civilians in the Gaza Strip.
20:50At least 22 Palestinians, including several children, were injured in a drone attack on a tent encampment in central Gaza
20:58City, where displaced families had taken refuge after a month of forced displacement.
21:03Destroy tents, scattered belongings, and the cries of young children once again showed these escalating Zionist violence.
21:10The attack targeted a camp of people already uprooted from their homes, highlighting a systematic pattern of aggression against defenseless
21:18population.
21:27China's logistics sector recorded steady growth in the first five months of the year, driving by structural upgrades and a
21:35rapid transition toward high-tech manufacturing.
21:37According to China's logistics and purchasing, total social logistics rose 5.2% year-on-year, while traditional mining demand
21:48slumped logistics for advanced equipment and high-tech manufacturing surge.
21:53Industry experts note that industrial upgrading is reshipping the sector, highlighted by a staggering 40% spike in lithium battery
22:03shipping volumes this past May alone.
22:08A multi-faceted growth pattern is now firmly emerging, heavily supported by the circular economy and low-carbon recycling.
22:18The first five months of this year saw steady logistics demand growth, improved supply quality and efficiency, and continued progress
22:26in the sector's overall quality upgrade.
22:29Industrial upgrading has increasingly become a key driver in reshaping and optimizing the logistics structure.
