00:07Then, now, forever, together.
00:35This is your first promo back from injury.
00:39What I like to do is put something on paper, then tweak it to make it feel you.
00:44I always go, when in doubt, go real.
00:46Now my bicep is fully healed, and I'm six months wiser in this business.
00:50I'm back, and basically just going out there and establishing myself again,
00:55letting people know that I believe if I hadn't got hurt in season two,
00:58that I would have won the show.
01:00It's pretty stressful for me because I want to get it so right.
01:03So I go into just trying to read it as many times as I can
01:05so I can live it out and not recite lines.
01:09More nervous for that than I have been for any match by far.
01:12Just because it's like it's all on me.
01:14If I mess this up, I can't blame nobody else.
01:30So, last season in LFG, I was just finding my footing.
01:37I was just building momentum.
01:42And then, boom, I tore my bicep.
01:47The thing that really pissed me off was if I didn't tear my bicep,
01:52you're looking at the winner of LFG season two.
01:57My body was out for five months, but my mind kept gaining knowledge.
02:05And now that my bicep is fully healed, I got it all right here.
02:11And anybody who steps in this ring with me is in for a scary sight.
02:18My body is now stronger.
02:23My mind is now stronger.
02:27And my uppercut is ready to break jaws.
02:38This kid might have the goods.
02:40I want to see that dog come out tonight.
02:48Natty, KO, Booker, Bubba.
02:51Welcome to another LFG episode.
02:53Excited to be here.
02:54Fire it up.
02:54Fire it up.
02:55Everyone's excited.
02:56Fire it up.
02:57So, we got a few matches tonight.
02:59Bubba, you'll have the first match.
03:01We have Braxton Cole, who I believe this is his second match against Andre Chase.
03:07Andre Chase is someone that I brought in about three years ago.
03:11I call him a mechanic.
03:13Credibility on the independent scene, has been in the ring for a few years.
03:16He's someone that could help lead these new athletes who know nothing about the business.
03:20So, I'm bringing Andre down to LFG to work with Braxton.
03:24So, he's in there with someone who has an idea and understanding of what we're doing in the ring.
03:28So, we're not bringing Chase into LFG.
03:32We're borrowing him for the night to help with Braxton.
03:36Exactly.
03:36Cool.
03:38Our next match, Natty, Callie Armstrong.
03:41Listen, this girl's a stud.
03:43She goes out there and just gets it done.
03:46And she's hungry.
03:47This is something that she's wanted to do for a long time.
03:49And, you know, we talk about those light bulb moments.
03:52That light bulb's turning on for her right now.
03:54I think you're going to really enjoy working with her.
03:56And then, someone that you all know very well, Serena Linton.
04:01She's an LFG veteran.
04:03This is a big match for her.
04:04She's in there with Callie Armstrong.
04:06She's going to, you know, more often than not, Serena's going to be the small body in this match.
04:10She's going to have to fight from underneath.
04:12And this is an opportunity for Serena to do that.
04:14Let's see that temper that Serena wants to show us.
04:18Yeah, I'd like to see some intensity from her.
04:20And much like P.J. Vasa, like, Serena's been here for a second now.
04:23And when you start to transition to the low-hanging fruit that's on the roster, that's when you don't want
04:30to be.
04:30And final match, Booker, Nathan Cranton versus Elijah Holyfield.
04:37Elijah just came back from surgery, bicep.
04:40You know, we know how confidence and momentum is really important.
04:43And Elijah had a good showing, putting him in the ring with Nathan, who just came from us from the
04:49U.K., had some experience, comfortable in the ring, plays the Hale character really well.
04:54Good opportunity for Elijah and just keep building on what he started.
04:59Yeah, you know, I like this kid, Nathan.
05:01And I think it's more of an opportunity for Nathan than it is for Elijah Holyfield to actually really be
05:06able to go out there and be that general and take Elijah Holyfield to a place that perhaps he's never
05:12been.
05:12So, for me, I think this is the ultimate test.
05:17And since I don't have a match, I wanted to ask you guys if anyone has an objection to me.
05:22You know, we're trying to help people learn and introducing concepts they might not be familiar with.
05:27I was actually hoping I could maybe get on commentary to these matches.
05:32Yeah, I can only aspire to be half as good as you one day.
05:36Are you kidding me, right?
05:36I mean, one day I won't be wrestling anymore either.
05:39You blazed a trail for us.
05:41Booker T!
05:43Quack, quack!
05:44I'm good.
05:45I'm telling you, before long, you'll refuse to do commentary without me.
05:49You'll see.
05:54Marker.
05:57My name is Andre Chase.
05:58I am the leader, founder, professor, kind of mentor to the younger wrestlers.
06:04Honestly, I do it all here at Andre Chase University.
06:07Here on NXT, it's all about the you.
06:11I've been an NXT Tag Team Champion twice.
06:14Andre Chase is back to the mountaintop.
06:18I've been in NXT for about five years, and I've been wrestling internationally, professionally
06:24for almost 19 years now.
06:26Chase you!
06:27You see the NXT universe to their feet chant, Chase you.
06:31I was a young wrestler once, and I understand when I got better, it was by better wrestlers
06:39and more experienced wrestlers than myself, giving me feedback in real time.
06:43So, somebody like Braxton, he takes feedback and he applies it, which is something that
06:48I always appreciate.
06:52Another week of LFG.
06:56Smart guy versus smart guy.
07:00Chase you versus the PhD of the WWE, Braxton.
07:08Assume every person in that audience doesn't get it.
07:12They get it with you.
07:13They know the brain thing with you, but they don't get it with you.
07:16How do we tell that story?
07:19You're the brains of NXT, but I'm smarter than you.
07:25With me and Bubba, I think stylistically and philosophically, we have a lot of the same
07:29views on pro wrestling.
07:30As many parallels I think we can do, we'll have the story of the match.
07:32Yeah.
07:32As far as putting the match together and leading the match, we clicked instantly, I would
07:37say.
07:38His frustration's going, my frustration's going.
07:41Because throw one, double duck, accelerate, cross body, and then we're in school.
07:48Trying to show that emotion build over the course of that first night.
07:52Braxton, he's a very smart guy, which as a professor of Andre Chase University, is something
07:56that I can appreciate.
07:57Why does a heel cheat?
07:59Do you know the answer?
08:00Because the baby out-wrestles him.
08:03Excellent.
08:03Because he can't out-wrestle the baby face.
08:06He's pretty much a perfect coach for me.
08:08You know, he cares about the psychology, the mindset, emotional manipulation.
08:13And that's kind of what I want to be all about.
08:15Kind of my whole, you know, being smarter than you gimmick, you need to be able to manipulate
08:19people emotionally.
08:21You go get the book, the ref's staring right at you, the ref's staring right at you, the
08:26ref pulls it away.
08:28You wanted the ref to take the book.
08:30I think I like that.
08:30Yeah, that's a good smart thing.
08:31Yeah.
08:33It was a great little test for me to see how I can do with someone on TV.
08:38The goal is to try and put together TV quality matches so I can get to NXT.
08:42It was a great test to see how I can perform with someone who's a TV level talent.
08:50I'm so sorry to interrupt, book, but I'm about to go out for commentary, so I figure it out.
08:54Can you bestow upon me any advice, any wisdom?
08:57Did you, you got those sheets?
08:58I do.
08:59You know what I mean, with the stats?
09:00I do, yeah.
09:00Stick to the stats.
09:01That's it?
09:02Stick to the stats and then add in a couple of little nuggets.
09:05You know, I like to call nuggets, which is sound bites.
09:08You don't want to talk too long.
09:09You know, you don't want to stretch too far.
09:11Keep everything short.
09:12Okay.
09:13Keep everything short.
09:14You got this.
09:15Can I use the shucky, shucky?
09:16Shucky, ducky.
09:17Ducky, ducky, quack, quack.
09:19Can I use it?
09:20Use it, brother.
09:21You got it.
09:22Hell yeah.
09:23Shucky, elongate the quack, quack.
09:28Elongate that.
09:28As long as I can make it.
09:29You got it.
09:30Yeah.
09:31No promises.
09:31I'll try.
09:36Welcome to LFG, Vic Joseph on our side, Jeremy Borash, and we're joined this week by a former
09:41two-time WrestleMania main eventer, former Universal Champion, former United States Champion,
09:46former Tag Team Champion, former NXT Champion, the one and the only Kevin Owens.
09:50You forgot the Intercontinental Champion.
09:52The former Intercontinental Champion.
09:53I wrote all these down for you.
09:54I skipped that one.
09:55I'm sorry.
09:56Anyway, thanks for joining us.
09:58Well, thanks for having me, guys.
09:59I'm excited.
10:03Well, I know this man is happy that Kevin Owens is joining us here on LFG.
10:08I would hope everybody's happy.
10:10The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
10:13Introducing first, from Draper, North Carolina, winging at 222 pounds, Andre Chase.
10:23You never really know with Borash.
10:26Yeah, I'm happy you're here, Kevin.
10:27Come on.
10:28I appreciate that.
10:29Yeah, absolutely.
10:33Back on LFG, and here comes the P.H.D. of WWE.
10:38And his opponent, from Gulfstown, New Hitcher, winging at 240 pounds, Braxton Poole.
10:53This is going to be real interesting because Andre Chase is a veteran of NXT.
10:56Andre Chase has been around for many years.
10:58And in this situation, and in this situation, Andre Chase is truly the teacher.
11:03This is a professor of wrestling, and his student is Braxton, is the guy coming to the ring and looking
11:10for that opportunity to make it to NXT and go to that next level.
11:22Oh, Braxton, a former football player.
11:25And, Kevin, you were in the Performance Center with many former professional football players and collegiate football players.
11:30What sort of hurdles is Braxton Cole going to face early on in his professional wrestling career?
11:36Well, I've never really spoken to him.
11:38I'm not really sure what kind of guy he is.
11:39I think the biggest hurdle that comes from not just football players but athletes in general that come here with
11:45no experience in wrestling is kind of starting from the bottom again, you know?
11:49They might have put in a lot of time in their discipline in the past, but this isn't unlike anything
11:54else.
11:55So I think a lot of times...
11:56Smart guy shaking hands.
11:57Well, I think a lot of times just maybe the ego or just the, you know, having to put your
12:02ego aside to start from the bottom and be a wealth, you know, be willing to learn as much as
12:07you can, that can be difficult for them.
12:12Braxton Cole, 6'4", 6'5", 250 pounds in there with Andre Chase.
12:23He was going for the nip-up and then he caught him.
12:26Okay.
12:28Let's talk about Andre Chase.
12:30Let's talk about the lesson he's teaching right now.
12:33If anything, he's teaching me that you can wrestle in a sweater, which I find is very impressive.
12:38I wrestled in a t-shirt, but he's got the sleeves on everything.
12:44That is very unique style.
12:45That's a full color, too.
12:46And that's what Andre Chase is doing.
12:48He always wants to be professional.
12:49He always wants to represent his university.
12:51He always wants to represent his profession because, as I said, everything to him is a teachable moment.
12:55He wants to stay in kind of the professor mood.
12:58Well, let's be honest, Chase, you made him a household name on NXT, brought him to the top of the
13:02mountain and looks to stay there now.
13:04But when you're in a situation like he is and looking to advance the next generation of talent here at
13:10the Performance Center, there's a lot of teachable moments that he wants to unleash.
13:13Oh!
13:15Well, it's teachable moment, but he's getting a hand up to block the right, then able to block for a
13:19second.
13:20Didn't get all that top turnbuckle, but certainly got enough to hit that neckbreaker.
13:24Braxton now into the cover, hooks the leg to put away Andre Chase.
13:34It's funny because Andre Chase, he's talking about teaching everyone, but he learned something from earlier when Braxton grabbed the
13:40rope.
13:40We saw it a little bit ago.
13:42He was trying to grab the rope again.
13:43Andre was pulling him away.
13:45Of course, he got punched in the face for it, so that didn't work out.
13:51Everybody can learn at any point.
13:52That's what's important, too, in wrestling.
13:54You never stop learning.
13:55So these guys, you know, everybody, all these up-and-comers, that's another thing.
13:59They have to be willing to have an open mind at all times, even if they've been doing this for
14:0410, 15, 20 years.
14:14Braxton Cole could have such an impressive matchup, and if he's able to knock off and gain a big victory
14:18over Andre Chase, he could find himself in the main event.
14:21It only takes one match to possibly get that NXT contract.
14:24Oh, he rolled out of the ring.
14:29Smart.
14:30And he rolled out to get him.
14:31Smart.
14:32Let's go, Braxton.
14:32Get him back inside.
14:34Good.
14:36Keep it inside the ring.
14:39Cover, cover, cover, cover, cover.
14:41And Chase able to kick out.
14:43And I want to go back to Andre Chase.
14:45Might have bought himself a little bit of time to get his wits about it.
14:47Yeah, very smart.
14:48Got hit with that DDT and had enough awareness to roll right out of the ring, which obviously forced Braxton
14:53to come out and get him.
14:54That definitely helped with that kick out there.
14:57J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C.
15:09J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C.,
15:11J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C., J.C.
15:11I appreciate him going out and getting him and winning by pinfall would be the way to make that statement.
15:15Not exactly taking a counter.
15:18Oh.
15:18Got to wonder if there's any possible recruits, new students for next semester out amongst the WWE faithful here watching
15:26LFG.
15:36And Braxton, nobody home.
15:37Chase picking up steam, and there's a forearm.
15:40Fouling it up again.
15:41Not quite Tito Santana, but it is effective.
15:44It's close enough.
15:44It's knocking him down, you know.
15:46Might not be as pretty.
15:47Neck breaker and a kick out.
15:50Andre Chase now knows he's been in the battles before on NXT.
15:54He's been under the bright lights of a premium live event.
15:58He does not want to be a stepping stone for Braxton Cole, J.C., J.C. here on LFG.
16:03Well, Andre Chase has been a part of some of the most memorable storylines and developments in NXT history.
16:09One storyline, one development I think he doesn't want is a loss here today on LFG.
16:19Well, he's going to get the book.
16:21He's going to get the book, but he came to the book of knowledge.
16:23The book of knowledge.
16:27The book of knowledge.
16:31Ah, there we go.
16:32Blow, blow.
16:33Referee did not see if Braxton Cole steals this.
16:38Here is your winner, Braxton Cole.
16:45Well, obviously, Braxton Cole must have been doing some film study on Kevin Owens by Hook, by Crook.
16:55And in Braxton Cole's mind, guys, that has to be a teachable moment here on Legends and Future Greats.
17:06Here is your winner, Braxton Cole.
17:12Here's a little thing, and I take responsibility for this because I should have helped you to know the finish
17:20a little better.
17:21You came out with the book, right?
17:23Yeah.
17:23And then you came in the ring, and then you put the book down immediately.
17:26That book is the finish.
17:28Yeah.
17:29Everybody in the arena needs to know about that book.
17:32So I want to see you come around the ring.
17:34I want to see you reading that book.
17:36And then the referee says, you have to put that book down.
17:40And you close the book, and the referee takes it away.
17:43Boom.
17:44The little things mean everything.
17:47I take responsibility for that because I don't expect Braxton to understand the art of Shakespeare, of pantomime, of over
17:56the top.
17:56It's almost like watching the movie that shows you the finish in the first scene, and then along the way,
18:04they show you how they got there.
18:07When you set the heat, that's the first time the babyface is in trouble.
18:11He's in peril right there.
18:13And if you immediately go for a cover, and he kicks out, it shows life.
18:17It shows hope.
18:18Like, I thought he was in trouble, but he kicked out, so he's in the fight.
18:21So get some heat right there.
18:22Hopefully you set the heat.
18:24Before the pin gets...
18:25Before the pin.
18:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I want you to do from now on.
18:27I liked when you mocked the chase shoe.
18:32I think you need more of that.
18:34I think you've got to get comfortable doing that more often.
18:36Especially as a heel.
18:37Don't be afraid to make an ass out of yourself.
18:39Babyface to sell for what?
18:40Do you remember when we talked about this before?
18:42Sympathy.
18:42Sympathy.
18:43He'll sell to entertain.
18:45The biggest things were just making it a little bigger.
18:48Everything a little bigger, you know?
18:50Get a little meaner, trying to get some more heat.
18:52But I think I'm turning in the right direction, and...
18:55We sided with the future olds.
18:56I can't thank you enough for doing this, man.
18:58I really can't.
18:59I hope you'd be cool to work with more people on LFG, and I hope you keep this relationship
19:03going, because I see you getting better.
19:05And getting in the ring with people that are better than you is how you get better.
19:08Sure.
19:08The best thing about Braxton is he listens, and I think if you want to get anywhere in
19:12this industry, you have to listen to the people that have paved the way for you and
19:15the people that have more experience than you.
19:17So as long as he keeps doing that, I think he's got a shot here at LFG.
19:25In our second match of the day, Serena Linton and Callie Armstrong get ready to do battle
19:31for the very first time.
19:33I'm on top.
19:35I'll kick her off into the buckle.
19:37I'll come to get her.
19:38Back over.
19:40I'm blown up just hearing it.
19:43She's like so wind and we breathe.
19:45Do you guys have a rest spot somewhere in the match, especially before the comeback?
19:48Is there like a hold?
19:49Is there a hold?
19:50Yeah, absolutely.
19:50Because I think there needs to be.
19:52We're talking about the comeback.
19:54Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,
19:56I'll do this, I'll do that, I'll do this, I'll do that.
19:58I mean, the energy.
19:58In real time?
20:00Hello.
20:00In real time, you're going to be dead.
20:03In order to guarantee that you're going to be able to match her energy, you got to have that
20:07rest spot.
20:08I think it's going to be amazing, though.
20:10Like, I love what I'm hearing.
20:12And go into the match with a little story.
20:14Callie said that you don't belong in WWE.
20:17You can't hang with her, you don't have her background, you don't belong in her locker room.
20:21I said that.
20:22Yeah.
20:23Yeah.
20:23And then-
20:23And I'm going to prove you wrong.
20:25And then-
20:25I belong here.
20:26Serena's like, this bitch.
20:27She's my language.
20:29I'm not saying you have to get dramatic, but just pull from something.
20:32As part of the audience, I want to get behind somebody that's been through something.
20:35She doesn't know where you've been.
20:37If it feels emotional, it's going to come through in your performance.
20:40I don't want to see just moves.
20:41Okay.
20:41Like, I know you've got a lot of bitch in you.
20:43And I know you've got a lot of bitch in you.
20:45Yeah.
20:45I want to see that dog come out.
20:47All right.
20:48Okay.
20:48Good luck, guys.
20:51Natty really wanted me to have this F-U attitude as a babyface.
20:55And so it was really important for me to be that fiery, spicy, high-energy self that I am and
21:02show that in the ring.
21:05Stay in the corner.
21:06I would say that Callie and I compliment each other in the ring.
21:08When we were putting the match together, I was getting really excited because I think we can put on a
21:13banger.
21:19My opponent this week is the spicy Serena Linton.
21:23I always enjoy working with people that are newer than me just because it allowed me to become the leader
21:29that I know I am.
21:37The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
21:40Introducing first, from Englewood, California, Callie Armstrong.
21:52Action continuing on Legends and Future Greats.
22:07And her opponent from Phoenix, Arizona, Serena Linton.
22:13And this is someone who Natalia has been talking to, who Natalia has been trying to coach up.
22:18And if you can't learn from someone, Kevin, like Natalia in the women's division, it's kind of hard to continue
22:24your own career
22:26because Natalia knows more about this industry than any of the two in the ring, including myself, will ever know
22:32combined.
22:33Yeah, absolutely.
22:33If you're going to have a mentor or somebody guiding you in this industry, Natalia is as good as anybody
22:41to listen to.
22:43I think you're going to have a mentor.
22:49Nice thing.
22:50Woo!
22:51Woo!
22:51Woo!
22:51Woo!
22:51Woo!
22:55Here you go.
22:55Too strong, all shoot.
22:59Too strong, all shoot.
23:00Too strong, all shoot.
23:01Yeah!
23:05That's right.
23:06Well as this matchup continues, starting out here, Kelly Armstrong obviously will have the power advantage
23:10over Serena Linton, but we saw a lot from Serena Linton
23:13last year here on LFG.
23:15In season two, I cut her in the very end,
23:19and I said, you got too comfortable.
23:26You don't want to get comfortable,
23:27because when you get a phone call telling you
23:30that there's budget cuts, you want to feel like you did
23:33everything in your power.
23:52Look at all the ideas from Tally Armstrong going up, going down,
23:56going around on Serena Linton.
24:01Well, one thing we've seen from Serena Linton is utilizing
24:04that high-flying ability that she has, that agility.
24:06We've seen the Molly go around.
24:08She won several episodes of the first season,
24:10with that, and that gymnastics background
24:13is just developing, and we're seeing it really evolve
24:15over the course of time, and that's been effective for her.
24:18You take a look at some of the recent gymnasts
24:20that have made their way through NXT.
24:22The first name that comes to mind to me
24:24is someone from the Michigan State University.
24:27Whoa!
24:28That was nice.
24:29That being Kalani Jordan, certainly has been a standout,
24:32a former NXT Women's North American Champion,
24:35a former Knockouts Champion as well.
24:37I'll tell you, Serena is impressing me.
24:44Oh, man.
24:46Kalani Armstrong, just pure strength, pure power,
24:49pure ferociousness.
24:50You saw just that sudden impact from Kalani Armstrong,
24:54a USC standout in track and field, and she just went around,
24:59and what a boot to the side of the face.
25:02I don't think she caught all of it, which is probably a good thing for Serena,
25:05because that could have ended up very badly.
25:07Oh, and a kick out in just a two-count, Serena Litton realizing it,
25:10and right now these two are a dangerous part of this matchup,
25:14because one mistake, we could have a victor,
25:16and you know Shawn Michaels has been keeping his eye
25:18on someone like Kali Armstrong.
25:23I like Kali as a heel.
25:25I like her as a f***ing heel.
25:26She's dominant.
25:27You know, Kalani Jordan having a similar background that Serena does,
25:30and same thing for Kali Armstrong being compared to Bianca Belair
25:34and stuff like that, similar backgrounds as well.
25:36It's really helpful that these women have people that have a similar experience,
25:41even beyond wrestling, so that they can, you know, go to for advice on how to adapt,
25:46let's say, the gymnastics background into, incorporate that into the ring,
25:50and how to make that, you know, something that works for them as well.
25:56Inside cradle, this time by Serena, and almost able to put down Kali.
26:01What a matchup this has been, JB.
26:03Well, it's been interesting to see Serena's growth over the course of the three seasons here of LFG,
26:07but Kali Armstrong has come in this season and really made an impact.
26:11You saw her in the very first episode,
26:13and she really brought a lot of attention to herself.
26:32Looking for a bulldog out of the corner.
26:38Serena right now is rolling, drop kicking.
26:41Look, Kali Armstrong's down.
26:42Kali's hurt, Serena crawling into the cover, hook up the leg,
26:46and that left shoulder, JB, just getting off the mat.
26:50The level of competition and the level of excitement that we've seen,
26:54it's only been amplified by the fact that everybody was watching that first episode
26:58and saw what happened to Kendall Gray.
26:59Saw the trajectory that her life, her career was put on in an instant.
27:05Coming off a great match in our first main event of the first show.
27:10Wait a minute, rolling through, ridden this, you have it.
27:12She couldn't get all her weight behind that.
27:23Oh, there we go, this could be.
27:27She wanted to put Molly go around.
27:29That took a little bit too much time.
27:31Kali had it scouted, saw what was happening.
27:33Serena ducks the clothesline, got caught, and gets planted.
27:40And now Kali, setting up to Pounce Serena.
27:45Might have knocked her back into season two.
27:48Big win for Armstrong.
27:52Here is your winner, Kali Armstrong.
27:57That didn't come easy for Kali.
27:59She had to work for that one.
28:00As she says, too strong, Armstrong.
28:06Well, what a night it has been here on LFG.
28:08We're getting ready for our main event.
28:10Kevin, I want to thank you for joining us as we get ready for what's going to be a massive
28:13showdown.
28:15I'm not good enough to do the main event.
28:17It was his decision.
28:19See, what did you do?
28:20Kevin, what are you doing?
28:21Kevin, get back here.
28:22I'm keeping my notes.
28:23All right.
28:31I thought you both were great.
28:33This was your best performance.
28:35That monkey flip, you took that beautifully.
28:40I feel happy that I lit a bit of a fire under your ass.
28:43Because I wanted to get under your skin that you couldn't get comfortable.
28:46Just in case people are watching you find too calm, they're going to go, wow, that showed us something tonight.
28:51And I thought you were very vocal.
28:56You made more noise.
28:59You were more vicious.
29:00I like you as a heel.
29:02Okay.
29:02I love you as a heel.
29:04It felt good hearing her say that she really liked to see me as a heel because I feel like
29:08heel is more of my natural self just because I am strong, I'm aggressive.
29:14You're a beast.
29:17When you do that spear into the corner, it looks so good.
29:21Stay on that midsection right there.
29:23I think you're going to make it harder for yourself to tell the story if you do that and then
29:28you start working the arm and then you start working the neck.
29:32The simplest story that we can tell the fans is going to allow the best connection.
29:36So, hey, how about that f***ing first monkey flip there?
29:39Dude, you flew.
29:41You flew, dude.
29:43I was like, that was one that if it was on TV, I'm calling.
29:45Replay.
29:46Replay that now in slow motion.
29:48It was really good.
29:49Why are you emotional right now?
29:51Talk to me.
29:53From critique?
29:55Um, no.
29:56Okay, all right, good.
29:57Why?
29:59I think, um, sorry, I'm just not going to be emotional.
30:04Very good.
30:05I think I just care so much and I've been in my head because I just want to be, like,
30:11I want to be the best.
30:13We talk about, you and I talk about this a lot.
30:15Like, don't let the voices get loud in your head.
30:18Come talk to me if they are.
30:19This is a crazy business, all right?
30:21And when you finally get to where, like, hopefully a WrestleMania moment, you're still going to learn s*** after that
30:26match and be like, God, I wish I did this.
30:28All right, so trust the timing of your life because if you don't, when it's all said and done, you're
30:33going to be like, s***, that was a whirlwind and I didn't appreciate any of it.
30:36This business is not an easy business mentally, physically.
30:40It's very demanding and I know I can handle it.
30:43I just need to find a way to know that I'm doing all the right things and some things it's
30:48just God's timing.
30:55With two matches down, we look to our main event and a much-anticipated return to the ring.
31:01Elijah Holyfield, this guy's come back from injury.
31:04The last thing you want to do is put him on the shelf again because if you've seen his injury
31:08prone, it could cost you your career.
31:11Elijah Holyfield has come a long way in a short time, but I really feel like you're still going to
31:16be the general in this ring, all right?
31:19Well, it's his big return tonight.
31:21Exactly.
31:21He's washed back.
31:23And as much as, you know, he comes from a great boxing family and psych, I've been wrestling for years.
31:28Uh-huh.
31:28Look, at the end of the day, I don't care who your dad is.
31:31I don't care what sport you've done before.
31:34When it comes to wrestling, I want to be the most exciting thing in the ring.
31:38It's easy to get yourself over.
31:40But when you get this other guy over, like nobody else has, when you walk back through that curtain, everybody's
31:46going to be looking at you and say, this kid might have the goods.
31:50I like this kid, Nathan, you know, maybe because he's a student of a game.
31:55You know, you can tell when these kids want to be coached, when they want to be taught.
32:01Boom.
32:03What's going on, dog?
32:04It's good.
32:04How we doing?
32:05Oh, question is, how you doing?
32:07Back and better, man.
32:08Yeah?
32:08Back and better.
32:08I hope you've been studying while you was awake.
32:11Yes, sir.
32:12All right?
32:12Time off is your worst enemy in this business.
32:16Yes, sir.
32:16What I need to see from you is patience, all right?
32:21I don't need you to rush, and that's the one thing we always talk about with young guys.
32:24Don't rush, don't rush, don't rush.
32:26Look, don't rush.
32:28Are we ready?
32:29You know I'm ready.
32:30Let's get it done.
32:31Boom.
32:42There you go, right there.
32:44Body language.
32:47There you go.
32:51Freeze that one second.
32:52Right here, Elijah.
32:54You're so focused right now on the match.
32:56You're just thinking about him, you're going to lose the fans.
33:00All right?
33:01You want them to feel a certain way when you walk out, and I think that's what I'm going
33:05to grab and hang on to the most.
33:09It's main event time, as Nathan Cranton and Elijah Holyfield prepare to step out in front
33:15of the live audience.
33:18Let's get it done.
33:20Let's get it done.
33:21Go!
33:23Here we go.
33:24You got your legends and your future greats.
33:26Welcome in to Legends and Future Greats.
33:30Here at ringside, I'm Vic Joseph, alongside the one and only Jeremy Borash.
33:34So, JB, you look as fresh as a daisy.
33:37Oh, thanks, Vic.
33:37I'll tell you what.
33:38What an episode it's been, and what a main event we are about to have.
33:41Eight months in the making for the return of Elijah Holyfield, and we are waiting with
33:48great anticipation to see what this is going to be like for the return of this incredible
33:52athlete.
33:53A very tough opponent awaits him.
33:56There's been a lot of hype surrounding both these athletes, and it will come to a head,
34:02as you said, here in just a matter of moments.
34:05Well, a man who was destined to spoil the return, making his way to the ring now.
34:16The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
34:21Introducing first, from Dorset England, weighing in at 230 pounds, Nathaniel Crannton.
34:28Stay there.
34:29Open your feet.
34:30That's what you should always do.
34:32Open your feet.
34:33There you go.
34:34Get on your feet.
34:35All you stinking peasants.
34:40Elijah Holyfield goes one-on-one with Nathan Crannton.
34:46This is the battle for power, I'm the man of the hour, it's here to eat or devour, be a
34:52hero or power.
34:53You got it, his opponent, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 234 pounds, Elijah, holy P.
35:06It has been eight long months.
35:14This man tore his bicep off the bone, has paddled back, has rehabbed, has not missed a day in the
35:23gym to get back to 100%, not just for himself, but for all those that have believed in him.
35:31And if you can hear those around us, there's a lot of believers in Holyfield.
35:36Holyfield!
35:40Holyfield!
35:41Holyfield!
35:43Holyfield!
35:44Holyfield!
35:45Holyfield!
35:46Holyfield!
35:47Holyfield!
35:48Holyfield!
35:48Holyfield!
35:49Holyfield!
35:50The fact that he has now returned eight months later, the fact that he's returned with a new vision, a
35:55new focus, a new attitude,
35:56and wants to show that more than anything else in this opportunity, the man that stands across from him chooses
36:04to maybe, ah, rain on the parade of this return.
36:08Whoa!
36:17You have to believe that Holyfield is extra motivated right now in this moment.
36:24So much, you know, when you talk about the injuries, it does so much to you physically, but let's not
36:29forget the mental aspect of being injured.
36:30Let's not forget being taken out at your prime.
36:34Eight months in, he now comes back to the ring with so much focus and has had time to think
36:39and take this in.
36:40And this moment that he's living right now has been the front of his brain since that very moment that
36:46he was injured.
36:46What a return.
36:50And look, we want to take a little bit deeper when it comes to Elijah Holyfield.
36:54It's got to be tough to have that last name of who his father is, to have to live every
36:58day in the shadow of a Hall of Fame boxer, a former world champion,
37:03to try to step out on your own, and then to get sidelined the way he did.
37:08I mean, it's got to be gut-wrenching and it's got to be heartbreaking as well.
37:11Heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, all the adjectives that go with being just taken out.
37:17Whoa!
37:18Wow.
37:21A lesson for Elijah is the recovery and the comeback and what that's done for him mentally and the perspective
37:28you get when you're taken out at the top of your game.
37:31You know, a lot of people said he was destined to win season two of LMG.
37:35And when that is just taken out, that opportunity ripped away from you, you know, it's just as much of
37:41a physical recovery and mental recovery in the same way.
37:43Trainor! Trainor! Trainor! Trainor!
37:47Trainor!
37:47Yeah, go!
37:49Trainor!
37:50Trainor!
37:51Trainor!
37:51This is someone who time and time again, the coaches, the trainers, those in the performance center, they say, oh,
37:57that's a no-brainer.
37:58And to have that setback, he is going to be fueled by redemption right now.
38:02But for Cranton, he is fueled in his own right, looking to destroy and take out Holyfield.
38:08Big backbreaker out of the corner, hook of the leg, and a near-fall.
38:12And look, when it comes to Cranton, he is as smug as they come.
38:16Well, I'll tell you what, it's been very interesting on this episode to see the advice given to both these
38:21men by Booker T from a personality standpoint and how Booker sees himself in both of them.
38:26Booker, obviously, throughout his career, a cocky, arrogant guy.
38:31Oh, Booker T, cocky?
38:32A little bit on occasion.
38:34I know, maybe not now, next to you in the booth, Vic.
38:37Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit! Holy Spirit!
38:48Oh, no!
38:49Oh, no, no, no, no!
38:51Side belly. Take a look at Cranton. Cranton got hoisted, dropped, but didn't relinquish the hold.
38:57I know we're having fun out here. We're taking a look at two possible future legends, future greats, if you
39:03will.
39:03Cranton, really, right now, I think is opening some eyes.
39:06And to Booker's point, Booker T's got to be smiling right now, seeing this matchup unfold.
39:11Because when it comes to Cranton, this is a blue blood that maybe isn't quite as regal as he thinks.
39:16But he is certainly in control of this match.
39:18Well, and of course, given the, we saw Elijah's first match here on LFG.
39:22But also, let's not forget, Cranton's got the advantage from a perspective of, well, you know, time in the ring.
39:29Experience? Yeah.
39:29A little bit, not by much.
39:30But he looks as comfortable as ever. Wow!
39:34And look at Holyfield right now, starting to fire back.
39:37Left his feet, now really staying calm.
39:40Cooler Collector with a spine buster.
39:47Look out, this is an uppercut.
39:49If he can hit that uppercut.
39:51Oh, Cranton had sense.
39:51Runs to the family.
39:52Certainly did, went from behind and Cranton coming in.
39:55Underneath it.
39:56Burns!
39:57Got him!
39:58Knees buckled.
39:59Good night, Cranton.
40:06Here's your winner, Elijah Holyfield!
40:11I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself, JB, but I think tonight we learned a lot about this
40:18man.
40:18We learned a lot about Elijah Holyfield, what he's about, and what he can bring to this squared circle here
40:25in the WWE.
40:26Wow, great return, look at the straight spine buster from Elijah Holyfield.
40:32And obviously that uppercut, Nathan Grant went from raising sheep to counting sheep.
40:37Woo!
40:38Knocked out!
40:38Tell you what, you had called out the punching power of Holyfield.
40:44That was right on the butt.
40:47Listen to this place.
40:50Oh, yeah, it was all right.
41:05How you feel?
41:06Good, good, good.
41:07I know what it was like.
41:08No, man.
41:09That's probably the best you've looked, man, since you've been here.
41:12Amazing.
41:13Booker was very excited about it and loved it.
41:15I don't think he was sugarcoated if we did bad, so I was happy about that.
41:19Yeah.
41:20Damn it, man.
41:22Yeah.
41:22Damn it, man.
41:23Gave me a lot of confidence moving forward.
41:25Really happy about it and I wanna build off of it.
41:27Can't praise you guys enough.
41:29Really good .
41:30Y'all made me look good.
41:32All right.
41:33Good, man.
41:59It's always amazing to get feedback from the Heartbreak Kid.
42:02The main thing for me was that I should have sold his size more, because the man is built
42:07like a brick house.
42:09And just because you can, Super X and Moran, not that I shouldn't have done it, but I should
42:13have made a bigger job of it.
42:15You get caught up in so much of doing more and more, but it's just the details of what
42:18you're doing.
42:19You do a little and make it good, man.
42:21It goes a long way.
42:25It's just the beginning of what I think is gonna be a great year and a great season,
42:28man.
42:29Moving forward, I just do everything.
42:31I take everything a day at a time.
42:33I control what I can control.
42:34If I'm lucky enough to get that contract, I'll be ready.
