00:22Let us pray.
00:50Let us pray.
00:54And that all sinful passion and affection being destroyed within me, I may be renewed in perfect innocence of life.
01:26Let us pray.
01:34Praise and honour and glory be to you, O Christ, who, out of your affection for me, granted me to
01:40be born in the true Christian faith,
01:44and has mercilessly brought me up from the beginning of my life, supplying me with food and the other necessaries
01:50for the nourishment and support of my body.
01:54May my heart find no relish except in and through you.
01:59May you alone possess my innermost soul.
02:03May I exceedingly hunger for you, the bread of heaven, and thirst for you, the fountain of life,
02:09so that this life's exile ended, I may deserve to be satisfied with the joys of your eternal perfection.
02:19Praise, honour and glory be to you, O Christ, who, up until this time, has preserved and delivered me from
02:26countless dangers of soul and body,
02:28even when I abused your gifts, not deserting me, illuminate my heart, I beseech you, with the brightness of your
02:39grace,
02:41the truly perceiving your goodness to me and my own ingratitude toward you.
02:47I may be moan myself, I may be hateful in my own sight, but I may please you, my creator
02:56and my only redeemer, in all things.
03:01Praise, honour and glory be to you, O Christ, who, when I lie immersed in the most loathsome vices,
03:08and was leading a most ungodly life, in your long-suffering, or with me for such a long time,
03:15and brought me to repentance, grant that my acceptable contrition and holy works,
03:23I may expiate the stains of my past sin, and that from now on I may lead a life of
03:29purity,
03:30and love you above all things, with most burning love.
03:36Praise, honour and glory be to you, O Christ, who, when I was on the brink of the very precipice,
03:42and just within the jaws of hell, did not permit me to perish, but called me, though deaf,
03:49and trying to run from you to the way of salvation.
03:54Grant that from now on I may follow after you with humble devotion,
03:59and with a joyful heart correspond to your holy inspirations,
04:04with, from my heart, farewell to all things, and may cleave inseparably to you alone.
04:14Praise, honour and glory be to you, O Christ, who always directed me, the vilest of sinners,
04:21has protected me, has looked upon me with the eyes of mercy,
04:25and still so fondly supports and cherishes me with your goodness.
04:30Despite my daily transgressions, as if forgetful of all others,
04:35you cared for me alone, grant that I also may love you most ardently,
04:43leaving all transitory things for your sake,
04:46and may think of you alone, and may, with a ready mind and in all places,
04:52follow and perform your holy will.
04:55Amen.
04:59O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:12O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:26O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:29O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:40O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:47O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
05:53O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing your praise.
06:03The Lord is gracious, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth emptied from generation to generation.
06:30Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning,
06:44is now and ever shall be, world without end.
06:58Amen.
07:03Amen.
07:16Amen.
07:19Amen.
07:24Amen.
07:28Amen.
07:28Amen.
07:29Amen.
07:32Amen.
07:36Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises unto him in temperance and love.
07:48For the Lord hath pleasure with his people, and helpeth the people through. Let the saints be joyful with glory.
08:04Let them rejoice in their midst.
08:10Let the praises of glory in their mouth, and to and to all in their hands.
08:23To hear and to the people, and to the youth of the people. To bind their kings in chains.
08:36And that the youth will be so wild. That they may be a place from there, as it is written.
08:48Such honor and honor is raised. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the holy courts.
09:03As it was in the beginning, is love and ever shall be. World without heaven. Amen.
09:21World without heaven. Amen.
09:26World without heaven. Amen.
09:46World without heaven. Amen.

11:45A reading from the Gospel according to St. Matthew, chapter 28.
11:52Now late on the Sabbath, when the dawn of the first day of the week was approaching, Mary Magdalene and
11:59the other Mary came to see the place where the body was laying.
12:04There was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, rolling back the stone,
12:11took his seat upon it.
12:14His form was shining like the light, and his clothing was as white as snow.
12:20For fear of him, the watchman was shaking and became as dead men.
12:26The angel said to the women,
12:28Have no fear, for I see that you are searching for Jesus, who was put to death on the cross.
12:36He is not here, for he has come to life again, even as he said.
12:42Come, see the Lord's resting place.
12:47Go quickly and give his disciples the news that he is back from the dead.
12:50I just go before you into Galilee, and there you will see him, as I have said to you.
12:57And so they went away quickly with fear and great joy, to give his disciples the news.
13:06On the way, Jesus came to them, saying, Be glad.
13:11And they came and put their hands on his feet and gave him worship.
13:15Then Jesus said to them, Do not fear, but go and give word to the brothers to go into Galilee,
13:22and they will see me then.
13:27And while they were going, some of the watchmen came into the tent,
13:30and gave news to the chief priests of all the things which had taken place.
13:35And when they had come together with those in authority, and had made their decisions,
13:39they gave much money to the watchmen, saying,
13:41His disciples came by night, and took him away secretly while we were sleeping.
13:47If this comes to the ruler's ears, we will see that he does not make you responsible.
13:53And so they took the money, and did as they had been ordered.
13:57On this account, it has been current amongst the Jews until the present day.
14:04The eleven went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had given them orders to go.
14:09When they saw him, they gave him worship, but some were in debt.
14:14But Jesus came to them and said, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
14:20Go, and make disciples of all the nations,
14:23giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
14:29teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given them.
14:32Look, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world.
14:39This is the word of the Lord.
14:42Thanks be to God.
14:49The angel here appealed to the senses of those who stood about the tomb
14:53to attest the truth of Christ's resurrection from the dead.
14:59The empty tomb had once proclaimed the actual resurrection of the Saviour.
15:06The resurrection is proclaimed to be a fact,
15:10firstly by the testimony of human witnesses.
15:14The disciples were men of property,
15:16and had no worldly advantage to acquire from the publication of such a circumstance.
15:21Indeed, quite the opposite.
15:24They had known Christ, surely, long enough
15:26to recognize him again when he appeared amongst them.
15:30And with one concurrent voice they testified,
15:33He is risen from the dead.
15:37Secondly, we have the testimony of the angels,
15:41and by their various appearances as bearers of the news.
15:46Thirdly, the resurrection of Christ was not denied even by his enemies,
15:50but was covertly recognized and admitted,
15:54even while the Jews agreed to a traditional falsehood
15:57to conceal from their posterity that which they knew to be a fact.
16:03Fourthly, the apostles constantly attested to the fact,
16:07as did the fathers of the primitive Christian church,
16:10such as Ignatius and Polycarp,
16:12and the other venerable custodians of the truth.
16:18Finally, Christ rose likewise,
16:20in precise accordance with the Scripture,
16:23and with the same body as that in which he had lived and died.
16:30The language of the text expresses the great humiliation of Jesus Christ.
16:35Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
16:40We cannot meditate beside the place where the Lord lay,
16:45without learning something of the infinite love of God.
16:51Neither can we look upon the empty tomb,
16:53without being convinced of the divine faithfulness,
16:57faithfulness as to promises,
16:59types, shadows and predictions.
17:04This visit to the place where the Lord lay
17:07must bring with it, too,
17:08a striking evidence of his divine sovereignty.
17:13I have the power to lay down my life,
17:15and I have the power to take it back again.
17:19And if thus he held in his sovereign hand
17:21the issues and the destinies of his own career,
17:25he can, in like manner,
17:27overrule and control the destinies of his people.
17:34Is not this vacant tomb
17:36an almost satirical evidence
17:38of his triumph over his enemies and ours?
17:43Come and see the place where the Lord lay,
17:46that you may behold in it
17:48the certain and the glorious pledge
17:50of a perfected salvation.
17:56The age of all the women to have no fear,
17:59for they were searching for Jesus.
18:04Quite apart from any other aspects
18:05of today's reading,
18:07this statement contains a great promise.
18:12For if we, too, are genuinely in search of Jesus,
18:15then we, too, have nothing to fear,
18:18for we are well on the way to our own salvation.
18:23For those of us who are still searching,
18:25this gives us the confidence
18:27to continue our search,
18:28and to find,
18:30claiming our reward in heaven in the process.
18:36Let us search on in confidence,
18:38that we, too, may find their rejoice.
18:45The question meets us today
18:47as we think of the narrative of the text.
18:51How do we stand related to that assembly
18:53on the Galilean mountain,
18:56and to that last command of our adored Lord?
19:01The answer which I trust
19:03we shall all feel inclined to give is this,
19:06that we are related to that assembly,
19:09just as though we had formed part of it originally,
19:12to that last command,
19:14as though we had heard it in audible words
19:17from the lips of our Lord.
19:20That we may be confirmed in this conviction,
19:23let us ask and answer some further questions.
19:28Is the need of the world
19:29any greater or less now than it was then?
19:34Substantially, it is the same.
19:36It was great and most urgent then,
19:39and it is great and most urgent now.
19:43Go, therefore,
19:45into the busy world immediately around you,
19:47and into the wider world beyond
19:49with the good news of God.
19:52Tell men that God loves them,
19:54that Christ is able to save to the uttermost
19:56all that come unto God by him.
20:00Such is the Great Commission,
20:02the most important effort entrusted to men.
20:06Note its universality,
20:09its intellectual character,
20:11and its gentleness.
20:15Are the encouragements given to those
20:17who put themselves instantly
20:18in a way of obedience
20:20with this last command,
20:22in any manner or degree
20:23less than they were at first,
20:25or through the primitive ages.
20:29Christ's assertions
20:30regarding his power in presence
20:32were immediately put to the proof
20:34by his followers,
20:35and in no long time
20:37they were able to point rejoicingly
20:39through certain definite results,
20:42not only in the inward experience,
20:44but in the lives and characters of men.
20:49The most marvellous changes took place,
20:52such as had never been obtained
20:53under any other teaching
20:54or influence whatsoever.
20:58In a state of society like our own,
21:01which has long been under
21:03more or less of the general Christian culture,
21:05we cannot expect to see many changes
21:08so visibly striking
21:09as those of early times.
21:12But those of us
21:13who will look below the surface of things
21:15will see that changes
21:17the same in essence
21:18are being produced
21:18all of us,
21:20and that the same sanctified grace
21:22is still at work.
21:25When men and women
21:27go forth and teach
21:28the true gospel
21:28in the spirit of love and loyalty,
21:31the Lord works with them
21:32and confirms the word
21:34by signs following.
21:37It is a great work,
21:38so great that no other
21:40can be likened to it.
21:43All other good works
21:44are only parts of it.
21:46It will be a long and hard work,
21:49but it will be done.
21:51As surely as God
21:52is the Father
21:54and Jesus Christ
21:55the Son,
21:56there will be
21:57glory to God
21:59in the highest,
22:00on earth peace
22:01and good will
22:01towards men.
22:05In a manner of speaking,
22:07we are all priests,
22:08but we all have a duty
22:09to tell others the gospel.
22:12And Jesus tells us
22:13to go out
22:13and spread the word
22:14and to be assured
22:16that he will be
22:17with us always.
22:21Moses told the people
22:23of Israel
22:23about the prophets
22:24that God would call
22:25to lead his people.
22:27These people
22:28will speak the word of God
22:29and those who hear
22:31and do not believe
22:31will be condemned.
22:33However,
22:34it will be much worse
22:35for the false prophets.
22:38We are not called
22:39to be prophets,
22:40but we all have been called
22:42to share the gospel
22:45with others,
22:46but directly
22:47and by example
22:49in the way we live
22:50our daily lives.
22:51We are not called
23:05You set the right hand of God
23:10In the glory of the Father
23:14Believe that you will come
23:19To me we are just
23:24Therefore may you love your servants
23:30Believe that we are in your precious blood
23:38May there be a friend with all saints
23:43In glory everlasting
23:49O Lord, Savior, we would have blessed your heritage
23:55Come and lift them up forever
24:01Day by day we may find you
24:07When we worship your name forever
24:15As the Lord lead us to stay without sin
24:22O Lord, have mercy upon us
24:26Have mercy upon us
24:30O Lord, have mercy upon us
24:35As our trust is in you
24:38O Lord, have mercy upon us
24:57Let us pray
24:59Almighty and everlasting God
25:01Who has given us your servants grace
25:05By the confession of a true faith
25:07To acknowledge the glory of the eternal trinity
25:10In the power of your divine majesty
25:13To worship the unity
25:16We beseech you
25:17That you keep us steadfast in this faith
25:20And evermore defend us
25:22From all adversities
25:24Who lives and reigns
25:26One God world without end
25:28Amen
25:35May the Lord bless us
25:36And keep us from all evil
25:38Bringing us to everlasting life
25:43Amen
25:59Amen
26:20Amen
