00:01Are you more interested in Irene and Barry than me and the baby?
00:04I wouldn't go that far, but there is something about them.
00:06A little something that says,
00:08Cupid, there's a lot more going on here than meets the eye.
00:11Come on, don't be crazy. They're just friends.
00:12You've got me broken up for ages.
00:13This is Laura McPherson.
00:15She's the same height, weight, eye colour,
00:17everything the same as Zoe McAllister.
00:19She went missing the day before Zoe died,
00:21and she hasn't been seen since.
00:22Zoe?
00:23So what if it wasn't Zoe's body that they found at the tyre factory?
00:27What if it was Laura?
00:28What if Zoe is still alive?
00:31And Peter's known about it the whole time.
00:58I want to stay forever.
01:01Closer each day.
01:05Home and away.
01:07It's crazy. Zoe was killed in the fire.
01:10Sally saw her, and the police found her body.
01:12It's impossible she's still alive.
01:14Look, I know how it sounds, but look at the facts.
01:17Laura McPherson went missing the day before it happened.
01:19The burnout body that they found in the tyre factory
01:21wasn't identified at Zoe's because they didn't have her dental records.
01:24And apart from that, in Sally's statement,
01:27she said that she thought that she heard Zoe talking to someone
01:30in the tyre factory.
01:31Which all adds up to the possibility that
01:33maybe Zoe used Laura as a cover so she could get away.
01:38I mean, we all know that Zoe's capable of anything.
01:40It just sounds so bizarre.
01:43I mean, what's it got to do with Peter?
01:45Do you think he was working undercover to try and catch her?
01:47Either that, or he's working with her.
01:52I'm telling you, everything is set up and ready to go.
01:55There won't be a problem.
01:59Exactly like you want it, don't worry.
02:03Okay, I'll be in touch next week, alright?
02:06Okay.
02:08You're out of your mind.
02:09Peter spent nearly half a year trying to catch Zoe.
02:11Why would he suddenly turn around and start working with her?
02:14And that's even assuming she's alive, which is crazy enough in itself.
02:17I know that sounds strange, but so is Peter's behaviour.
02:20Ever since he's been here, everything he's done
02:21points to the fact that he's got a hell of a lot to hide.
02:24And if he killed Josh like I think he might have,
02:26then he's capable of anything, including working with Zoe.
02:29No, no way.
02:30What about the phone call then?
02:32The one that he made to that girl
02:34about the real reason why he was back in the bay.
02:35That could have been Zoe you were talking to.
02:37Yeah, and it could have been Queen Elizabeth.
02:39Look, all I'm saying is one phone call doesn't prove anything.
02:42It proves that he's a liar.
02:44The story that he told me when I asked him about it.
02:46The whole drug investigation thing.
02:48I mean, that was a crock.
02:49What was the phone call really about?
02:51And that's before I even asked the question
02:53why he hit me over the head that night.
02:54If he did it.
02:55He did, trust me.
02:57Okay, and whatever it is,
02:58he's obviously willing to go to great lengths to keep it a secret.
03:01It's got to be something huge.
03:03Yeah, but it just doesn't make sense
03:04that Peter would start working with someone as warped as Zoe.
03:06He's the one that saved this town from her in the first place.
03:09Yeah, he was also in a coma for three months.
03:11Who knows what a head injury could do to someone like that over time.
03:14It doesn't make them crazy enough to start working with a psycho killer.
03:16Well, right now the facts are too strange to ignore.
03:19I've got to keep digging.
03:20Can't you just go and tell McGraw?
03:22No, I can't.
03:23Why not?
03:24For the same reason that I didn't go to him about Josh's murder,
03:26I don't have proof.
03:27But if Peter got wind of it, he'd just cover it up.
03:31Look, I know that this is freaky,
03:34and I'm sorry that I've dumped it all on you,
03:37but I need you to trust me
03:38that I know how to handle this on my own.
03:42Okay?
03:49He could wipe the plate clean.
03:51Either pregnancy agrees with you or Robbie did this.
03:54Hey, I had to protect mine from her.
03:56She's insatiable. It's crazy.
03:59Oh, well, look what we have here.
04:01A couple of young troublemakers.
04:03Oi, enough cheek out of you, buster.
04:06I, um, have to get back to my paperwork.
04:09Thanks again for the lunch.
04:10Oh, it was lovely. Good on you, love.
04:14Don't.
04:15Hey, you don't even know what I was going to say.
04:17Yes, you were.
04:18You were going to start going on about Irene and Barrett again.
04:20Oh, come on.
04:20Can you actually tell me why they're not together?
04:23It's, you know, complicated.
04:25Ah, complicated, shmoplicated.
04:27I'm sure that's all ancient history by now.
04:29That's not for you to say.
04:30But they're always together.
04:31They make a great couple.
04:32Maybe they just need a little bit of a nudge in the right direction.
04:37No.
04:37No, they don't.
04:38Hey, I would not be interfering, just facilitating.
04:41Robbie, these things always end a disaster with you.
04:43Not this time.
04:44Because I'm going to have help from a very reliable source.
04:47Okay.
05:04Mate, if you're not busy, I've got some leads that'll need to be followed up in the Laura McPherson thing.
05:09The missing person case?
05:11Yeah, just some follow-up calls.
05:12The McPherson case is closed.
05:14I told you that already, remember?
05:15We put it to bed a little while ago.
05:17Yeah, I know.
05:17There was just us flicking through it and realised that some of the follow-up was never done.
05:21Okay, well maybe I should take care of that if I was the person who didn't follow it up correctly
05:24in the first place.
05:25Well, I mean, I can take care of it if you want.
05:28You're enough on your plate.
05:29Unless there's a specific reason you have to do it.
05:32No, of course not.
05:33I'll be back soon.
05:41You want me to play Cupid?
05:43Not so loud.
05:44It won't work if they find out what we're doing.
05:46Yeah, well Irene was just talking about how she wanted to find someone to spend the rest of the life
05:50with.
05:50I had no idea she meant Barry Hyde again.
05:53That's the thing.
05:53I don't think she realises that she's stood in love with him.
05:56Well, what can I do?
06:04I'm thinking a three-course meal at home with your extraordinary cooking ability, Colleen.
06:09We couldn't go wrong.
06:10Hang on, how are you going to get Irene out of the house long enough to organise all of that?
06:13Oh, well what about right here?
06:15We're closing up early because it's been so quiet.
06:17Brilliant.
06:18And what's more, I've got some African Diasiac at home.
06:22We can use that to stir the pot, so to speak.
06:25African what?
06:26A Diasiac.
06:27It's a love medicine, a passion potion.
06:28I bought it in Italy.
06:29You mean aphrodisiac?
06:31That's what you said, pet.
06:33Yeah, let's just hope an African Diasiac isn't one of the ingredients.
06:36Oh, I've got a whole bottle at home.
06:39Colleen, why did you actually have an African D...
06:43You know what, you keep that to yourself.
06:45Well, just so long as it's put to good use.
06:47When I get my break, I'll nick off and get it.
06:50Excellent.
06:52Rob, are you sure about this?
06:53Have I ever failed you?
06:54That is a rhetorical question, don't answer it, just trust me.
06:57Mwah.
06:58Mwah.
07:01Mwah.
07:12Mwah.
07:16Mwah.
07:26Any word from the IT guys about Mr. West's computer?
07:29Yeah, there were no significant emails sent to or from Mr. West's machine.
07:50Hi, it's Jack Holden here from Yabby Creek.
07:53G'day mate, would you be able to send me the deleted files and emails from Josh West's computer?
08:01Yes, I know, Detective Baker did receive a copy, but we seem to have misplaced it.
08:06Okay, thanks, cheers.
08:26I've got to go out for a while.
08:28Will you?
08:28I'll be back soon.
08:55I don't know.
09:50I don't know.
09:52Colleen, where have you been?
09:54I thought you said you had the place covered.
09:56Yeah, well, I do.
09:57I left Jackie in charge while I went to get some paprika we'd run out.
10:03What are you doing here anyway?
10:04I thought you'd agreed to take the rest of the day off.
10:06Yeah, I know, I know, but I was feeling guilty,
10:08so I thought I'd do some of the books at home.
10:11Yeah, well, yeah, enjoy yourself.
10:17Here it is.
10:18Are you sure it works?
10:20Am I sure?
10:21I've tested it myself.
10:23I've felt its power.
10:25Believe me, you don't want to mess around with this stuff.
10:28I tried to kiss the man who sold it to me.
10:30His friend had to hold me off.
10:32Of course, it might have been something to do with the bottle of vino I had for lunch.
10:35Here, try it and see.
10:37Um, no thanks.
10:38I mean, I can smell it from here.
10:40It's, you know.
10:42Hmm, hand it over.
10:44I'll give it a go.
10:45Oh, you be careful now.
10:51Ooh.
10:54Nah.
10:56Nothing.
10:57Yeah.
10:58Maybe it.
11:01Do you feel it?
11:04Is there something different about you today, Colleen?
11:08You don't usually wear that dress, do you?
11:10Oh, no, no.
11:11I've had this for years.
11:13Well, maybe it's the apron I bought it in Italy.
11:15It's not the apron, Colleen.
11:17It's you.
11:19No.
11:20I feel like I'm seeing you for the first time in years, Colleen.
11:25Really seeing you.
11:26Your beauty, your poise, your elegance, the way you look at me with that glint in your eye.
11:31No, no, no.
11:31It's not a glint.
11:32It's a squint.
11:32I'm long-sighted.
11:33Well, I can see clearly now in you, Colleen, are divine.
11:37Now, Robbie Hunter, your wife's sitting right over there.
11:40I'd give her up in a second for you, Mon Cherie.
11:42Oh, no, no, Robbie.
11:43Come on, Colleen.
11:45Why should I be afraid to show my true feelings?
11:48I love you, Colleen, smart as I always have.
11:51Come here.
11:56What is this place?
11:58It's not what it looks like.
11:59Is Zoe still alive?
12:01Tell me the truth.
12:02Yes, she's still alive.
12:05Are you working with her?
12:06Don't be ridiculous.
12:07Well, then, how do you explain all of this?
12:09I want the truth.
12:10The truth this time, or I swear to God.
12:11All right, just shut up, okay?
12:14Of course I'm not working with the woman.
12:16I came back here to stop her.
12:21Not long after the explosion at the tire factory,
12:24I went back to work in the city.
12:27A couple of months later,
12:28I got a phone call from a friend of mine,
12:30a detective, Tracy Thompson.
12:31TT.
12:32Yes.
12:33She told me that she'd seen Zoe working as a nurse
12:35at a hospital in the city.
12:37And that when she tried to approach Zoe, she fled.
12:40Now, I told Tracy that that was impossible,
12:42that I'd seen the tire factory blow up with my own eyes,
12:45with Zoe inside.
12:47And that they'd found her body,
12:48but Tracy insisted that she'd seen it.
12:52So I started doing some digging.
12:54And that's when I stumbled across
12:56the Laura McPherson missing persons case.
13:00She disappeared around the same time as the explosion.
13:02She has the same body type and the same age as Zoe.
13:07That's when I remembered the statement that Sally made
13:09about how she thought that she'd heard Zoe
13:11talking to someone that day.
13:13And given the fact that there were no
13:15dental records available to positively prove
13:18that the corpse that was recovered was actually Zoe's,
13:20then everything started to fall into place.
13:23So I had the body exhumed.
13:25And the dental records proved that it was Laura McPherson's.
13:28So Tracy was right and Zoe's still alive.
13:31Why didn't you take it to anyone?
13:33We thought about going through the official channels,
13:35but we just couldn't risk it.
13:36You couldn't risk it?
13:37No.
13:38We knew that the only way that we could catch Zoe
13:40is if we waited for her to make a slipper.
13:42And with every media outlet in the state
13:45going crazy about the fact that she was still alive,
13:47that was never going to happen.
13:48Zoe would have stayed in hiding indefinitely.
13:51Look, I know how this sounds,
13:53but it was the only way.
13:55All right, so I came back here
13:57to see if Zoe was going to make a return,
13:59and Tracy stayed in the city to follow things up from there.
14:02This is crazy, all of it.
14:03Yeah, well, it's the truth.
14:06Do you know how sus this looks?
14:09You telling me lie on top of lie on top of lie.
14:12You attacked me a couple months ago.
14:13Yes, well, that wasn't supposed to happen,
14:14but you got in my way.
14:17I just panicked
14:18at the thought of you finding out the truth about Zoe.
14:21It's more than that.
14:22This whole thing, it's...
14:25It's insane.
14:25I know what it looks like, OK,
14:27but everything I've told you is the truth.
14:41Thanks to the wonders of modern-day technology,
14:43Irene and Mr. Hyde are both on their way to the diner.
14:46What if one calls the other?
14:48And wastes another 25 cents?
14:50I don't think so.
14:51That is not the kind of world we live in.
14:52We obey the SMS, we are slaves to the SMS,
14:55we adore the SMS.
14:57No, seriously, look,
14:58the only thing we have to worry about
15:00is whether or not Colleen's taking care of her side of things.
15:03Mm-hmm.
15:04And hopefully she hasn't used too much
15:06on that aphrodisiac stuff,
15:07because let me tell you one thing for free,
15:09it smells like old boots and vomit
15:11and tastes like the kind of stuff
15:12that builds up in the bottom of your fridge.
15:14It's disgusting.
15:15No.
15:16No, no, no.
15:18Disgusting as if Mr. Hyde tries to kiss Irene
15:21after reading that stuff.
15:22That's what's disgusting.
15:25I don't think I've had this much fun in ages.
15:27Remember how we used to be before, like, the farm and everything?
15:30Yeah, and we used to have fun.
15:33I miss that.
15:35Just because our circumstances might change
15:37doesn't mean we have to.
15:40Oh.
15:41All systems are...
15:42Oh, everything's set up.
15:43All we have to do is hope those two love those.
15:45Take the bait.
15:46Hey.
15:47Right here.
15:48Fancy.
15:53What the?
15:57What's going on?
15:59I knew that.
16:00I wouldn't be standing here with me gob on the floor.
16:02Is it some kind of private function?
16:05Not unless Colin's moonlight and it's not.
16:08I mean, we were supposed to be shutting up early
16:10because it was such a slow day
16:11and then I got this text message from Robbie
16:13telling me to meet him here.
16:14I got the same message.
16:17What on earth are they playing at?
16:24Relax and enjoy the meal and your time together.
16:28Love, Robbie and Tash.
16:30Those ratbags.
16:31I knew they were up to something.
16:33I think we can set up.
16:34Mm-hmm.
16:35And you know what?
16:36Colleen Smart is right in there with them.
16:38That woman was acting more bizarre than normal today.
16:41I'll tell you, when I get my hands on the three...
16:42Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
16:45If it's a question of corporal punishment and fine food,
16:51have you eaten?
16:52As a matter of fact, I haven't.
16:55It would be a shame to let this lovely food go to waste.
16:58Mm-hmm.
16:59Thank you, kind Sue.
17:09It's not possible.
17:10It can't be.
17:12No, it doesn't seem real.
17:13So she's really been alive this whole time?
17:16How the hell could Peter not have told anyone about this?
17:18How is one man going to protect this community
17:20better than the entire police force?
17:22That's if he wants to actually catch her.
17:24What are you talking about?
17:24Peter told you.
17:25Yeah, it doesn't mean I'll believe him.
17:26But you said you did.
17:28Yeah, I had to tell him something so I could get out of there.
17:30But if what I thought initially was right,
17:32well then, of course, he's going to lie to cover it up.
17:33So that story may not have been true after all.
17:36You know, I don't know what to think anymore.
17:37He's lied to me so much.
17:46Jack Holden.
17:49Oh, OK, great.
17:50Listen, I'm not actually at work at the moment.
17:52You wouldn't be able to fax that through to 555-0-3461.
18:00OK, cheers.
18:02It's one of the IT guys.
18:03He's sending me all the deleted files and emails from Josh's computer.
18:08Who cares, Jack?
18:09We need to figure out what we're going to do about this whole Zoe situation.
18:12I really think you should go to McGrath.
18:14This is getting out of control.
18:15Well, the thing is, if Peter's telling the truth,
18:18I could stuff up the entire Zoe investigation.
18:22What are we going to do?
18:26Well, the ambience is wonderful.
18:29The company's excellent.
18:31But...
18:31But the food's a bit housey-father, is that what you're trying to say?
18:34It does smell a little strange.
18:36A little?
18:37It smells worse than Kim's old gym socks.
18:40I think they've got the herbs and spices mixed up.
18:42Maybe your coffee would take away the taste.
18:44Great idea.
18:51Oh, God save us.
18:53It's...
18:54The pong's worse here.
18:56What the...
18:59Uh-huh.
19:01I think I found the culprit.
19:02What is it?
19:04Oh, give me strength.
19:06It's a love potion.
19:08You're cute.
19:08They're a sandwich short, a lot of them.
19:11They certainly went to a lot of trouble to get us back together.
19:15Oh, dear.
19:17But childish impudence or not,
19:19I've had a wonderful night.
19:22And I've really missed
19:25spending time with you like this.
19:28Yeah, me too.
19:32Right.
19:33I might get that coffee happening.
19:35Ha-ha.
19:40It doesn't matter what you say.
19:42I can't see there being a logical reason
19:44why we should keep this to ourselves.
19:45I told you.
19:46I don't care what Peter thinks.
19:48If there's a psycho running around out there,
19:50don't you think everyone has the right to know?
19:52I know.
19:52I know that.
19:54Then?
19:55I just wish that I knew
19:56whether Peter was telling the truth or not.
19:58Well, what he told me about his story made perfect sense.
20:02Yeah, I suppose.
20:03And there's still no answer to the question of motive.
20:06Why would he want to work with Zoe
20:07and why would he kill Josh?
20:10I reckon he's telling the truth.
20:13Yeah, I suppose he's on the level.
20:16So why can't you go tell your boss about Zoe?
20:18Surely Peter will understand why you couldn't keep quiet.
20:23What is it?
20:25When Josh was murdered,
20:27they checked his computer for any deleted files or emails.
20:31Peter told me that there was nothing of significance.
20:34So?
20:35Well, this says that there was an email sent
20:37from Josh's computer to Peter on the day of the murder.
20:40What does it say?
20:42I know about you and Zoe.
20:43Come to my office tonight.
20:45Where everyone finds out the truth.
20:47Oh, my God.
20:49This is the missing piece of the puzzle.
20:51This is the motive.
20:53Peter's working with Zoe.
20:56He must have killed Josh to hide his secret.
21:05The email might not mean anything.
21:07All it says is I know about you and Zoe.
21:09It doesn't necessarily mean Peter's working for her
21:12or he killed Josh.
21:13Come on, Martha.
21:13This on top of everything else,
21:15it's Peter.
21:15It has to be.
21:16Then you need to go to McGrath.
21:18Jack, you have no choice.
21:20What if Peter realises you're onto him?
21:21If I don't have hard evidence,
21:23McGrath will just laugh me out of his office.
21:25Who knows what Peter would do then?
21:26But you just said this is evidence.
21:27Yeah, but it's not strong enough to base an entire case off.
21:30Peter's clever.
21:31He'll talk his way out of it.
21:32You can't just do nothing.
21:34What if Peter kills again?
21:35What if Zoe...
21:36Look, I know what's at stake.
21:38I've just got to play my cards right.
21:39Yeah, and the right way is telling your boss.
21:42Jack, please, I'm scared.
21:44You can't handle this on your own anymore.
21:47First thing in the morning,
21:47you need to go and tell McGrath.
21:52Come on, Robert.
21:53It's gone to bed.
21:54Don't you want to wait till Irene gets home?
21:56She could be ages yet.
21:57Not if Colleen's African deezy acted the trick.
22:01I'm so good.
22:03Well, well, well.
22:05What have you crazy kids been up to?
22:07As if you didn't know.
22:09And don't try playing the innocent either.
22:12We got you a little surprise.
22:14Look at me.
22:14It was his idea.
22:16Oh, you're in on it too.
22:16Don't go selling me out now.
22:18It doesn't matter who was in on it.
22:20The point is,
22:22it was very sweet.
22:24Oh, really?
22:24So, how did things, you know, go?
22:28It was a delightful evening.
22:30And?
22:31And we've decided to remain good friends.
22:34End of story.
22:35That's it.
22:36That's it.
22:38But, uh, thank you for caring.
22:40And, uh, maybe you should think about
22:42bowing out of the matchmaking business
22:44gracefully for a while, eh?
22:46Bet you've been getting on so well lately.
22:47I was sure this was going to work.
22:49Come on, stupid Cupid.
22:50Go to bed.
22:54Good night.
22:55Good night, Mr. Hyle.
22:56No.
22:58Coffee?
22:59Why not?
23:08What?
23:10I was just thinking,
23:11Robbie's right.
23:12Things have been going well
23:13between us lately.
23:14Well, they never stop going well.
23:16No, but, um,
23:17that doesn't matter.
23:19Well, come on.
23:20Spit it out.
23:21It's just that,
23:23well, I really did have
23:24a wonderful time this evening.
23:26And, well,
23:28the reason we separated
23:30way back when
23:31seems
23:32rather trivial now.
23:33Don't you agree?
23:36So, um,
23:37what are you saying?
23:39I'm saying
23:40maybe the kids are right.
23:43Maybe we should give it another go.
23:47Are you sure this isn't
23:49Colleen's love potion talking?
23:52Well,
23:53I want him to find out
23:55if you are.
24:06Martha?
24:10I thought I heard
24:11you rattling around
24:11down there.
24:12Yeah, sorry.
24:13I was just thirsty.
24:15And as jumpy as a kitten, eh?
24:17No, I'm fine.
24:19I noticed you've been
24:20a bit tense
24:21around young Jack lately.
24:22You two haven't had
24:23some sort of blue, have you?
24:25Jack's just on
24:26a stressful case,
24:27that's all.
24:28I guess some of it's
24:29running out.
24:30Some of it's running out.
24:31No, don't worry.
24:32Just settle down.
24:33It's probably just
24:34Rick forgotten his keys again.
24:39Maury?
24:40What are you doing here?
24:41Are you just going to
24:42stand there all night
24:42or may I come in?
24:46Martha?
24:53I honestly thought
24:54it would work.
24:55Rob, they've been
24:56friends for ages.
24:57Why don't you just
24:57let them in be?
24:58Because sometimes
24:59people just don't know
25:00what's good for them.
25:03Hyde's jacket.
25:04No way.
25:05Morning.
25:06Morning.
25:07But I thought
25:08change of plans.
25:10Coffee?
25:12So much for their
25:13we're just friends routine.
25:14We've just seen them.
25:15They're so happy.
25:16Well, that's good news.
25:17They should never
25:17have split up
25:18in the first place.
25:18I agree.
25:19And I reckon
25:19this calls for a
25:20celebration lunch
25:21at our place.
25:22Midday, be there.
25:22I'll be very, very
25:23square, my friends.
25:24Okay.
25:25Yeah, why not?
25:25Excellent.
25:26I've got to get to work.
25:27I'll work with you yet.
25:28And we'd better
25:29get planning for the lunch.
25:30Okay.
25:30Come on.
25:31See ya.
25:32See ya.
25:36You okay?
25:37Yeah.
25:38Fine.
25:39See ya.
25:42You look like you've
25:43had as much sleep
25:44as I have.
25:48So, please tell me
25:50you've decided to do
25:50the right thing this morning.
25:52Yeah, I'm gonna go
25:52to McGrath.
25:53Thank you, Jack.
25:54It's what you have to do.
25:57You don't agree?
25:58No, I agree.
25:59I'm just not looking
26:00forward to it.
26:02I never thought
26:02I'd see the day
26:03where I'd be going
26:03to my boss
26:04to turn in
26:05one of my own colleagues.
26:06You're doing
26:07the right thing.
26:12Actually, I should
26:12head home
26:13for lunch.
26:14Okay.
26:14I'll see you soon.
26:15I'll see you then.
26:25Hi, Kim.
26:26What's this do?
26:27How did you get in here?
26:29Well, the cleaner
26:29let me in.
26:31How's Rachel going?
26:32She must be feeling
26:32tired after last week.
26:34Yeah, she's fine.
26:35Charlie, what are you
26:36doing here?
26:37I thought you were
26:38giving me free
26:39training sessions.
26:40Okay, so you thought
26:41you'd just let yourself in.
26:44Sorry, I didn't think
26:45there'd be that much
26:46of a problem.
26:48Yeah, well, for next time.
26:50Okay.
26:51Cool.
26:52So, where do we start?
26:54Mate, you've only
26:54just got out of hospital.
26:56Shouldn't you be
26:56taking it easy?
26:57I'm as good as new.
26:58Quick, healer.
26:59That's what the nurses say.
27:01Right, well, we can start
27:02with some low-impact
27:03exercises.
27:04Just let me set up first.
27:05Sure.
27:06Take as long as you need
27:07and I'll be here.
27:18Constable Holden.
27:19Managed to get here
27:20early for once.
27:21Boss.
27:21Yeah, you can take
27:22this job.
27:23That friendly neighbourhood
27:24argument yesterday
27:25escalated into a full-blown
27:27brawl this morning.
27:28You're going to have to
27:28get someone else to cover it.
27:30I need to talk to you
27:31in private.
27:33That's impossible.
27:34I wish it was.
27:35But Peter told me himself
27:37about Zoe being alive.
27:38And then I saw the email.
27:39It adds up.
27:41Peter Baker's not a killer.
27:42And he's certainly not
27:43in cahoots with that
27:44nutcase.
27:44I don't want to believe
27:45it either.
27:46But I've told you
27:47what's been happening
27:47this last few weeks.
27:48It makes sense.
27:50If you had these suspicions,
27:51why didn't you come
27:52to me sooner?
27:52To be honest,
27:53I didn't think that
27:54you'd believe me.
27:55I wanted to get more
27:55evidence, but then I realised
27:57that the risk was too high.
27:59Pete Baker
28:00is one of our best.
28:02I know this is hard
28:03to accept,
28:04but maybe Pete
28:06isn't the guy
28:06we think he is.
28:07That's your suspicion?
28:08It's more than a suspicion,
28:09and it's certainly enough
28:10to bring him in
28:11for questioning.
28:14Boss.
28:33Peter.
28:35Peter.
28:36Darren McGuire.
28:37Peter.
28:39Excuse me,
28:40you haven't seen
28:41the gentleman
28:41that lives in here
28:42this morning?
28:42Detective Baker?
28:43Yes, such a lovely
28:44young fellow.
28:45Have you seen him?
28:46He left last night.
28:48I saw him through my window.
28:49He threw a bag
28:50into his car
28:51and rode off
28:52like a bat
28:53without a pay date.
29:01Yeah, well,
29:01if he does contact you,
29:02do you think you...
29:04OK.
29:05Thanks, mate.
29:06Bye.
29:06Thanks for that.
29:07That was Peter's brother
29:08who hasn't seen him
29:09since yesterday.
29:09No-one else in the building
29:10knows where he's headed,
29:11either.
29:11Well, he's obviously
29:12done the run, huh?
29:12Yeah, because you
29:13tipped him off.
29:14What are you talking about?
29:15If you told me,
29:16instead of confronting
29:16him yourself,
29:17this whole mess
29:18could have been avoided.
29:19I did come to you
29:19three months ago.
29:20You told me to drop it.
29:23Let's just focus
29:24on finding him.
29:25I want to have a look
29:26at that hideout of his.
29:27He won't be there.
29:28Yeah, well, maybe not.
29:29We might find some clues
29:30about where he's headed.
29:34Now you can choose
29:35a flat course,
29:36a hill,
29:36or a combination of both.
29:38Okay.
29:39Hey, maybe we could all
29:41go to a movie this week.
29:43So?
29:44A new man, Rachel.
29:46Yeah, yeah, maybe.
29:48It might shout.
29:49It'd be my way
29:49of saying thanks, you know,
29:50for all Rachel's done
29:51for granted.
29:53Yeah, Charlie,
29:53shouldn't you be spending
29:54your nights at the hospital
29:55with your gran?
29:56Not every night.
29:58It's good to have
29:59some time to myself,
30:00you know?
30:00Hang out with friends
30:01and stuff.
30:02Hmm.
30:07What are you doing?
30:08I'm worried about
30:09that injury of yours.
30:10I'm fine.
30:11Seriously, I can keep going.
30:12Still, I wouldn't be
30:13a real friend
30:13if I let you overdo it,
30:14would I?
30:16Okey-dokey.
30:17I'll come back tomorrow.
30:20Yeah, maybe you should have
30:21a couple of days off.
30:23Shouldn't you do a form
30:24of exercise every day?
30:26Yep, you should, you should.
30:29Here, take these exercises.
30:30There's instructions
30:31on the back.
30:31You can do those tomorrow.
30:33Sorry, I don't have
30:34any money on me.
30:35That's fine.
30:35You pay me later.
30:38Cool.
30:39Thanks for everything.
30:40No worries.
30:44But actually,
30:44the guy is a little strange.
30:46No, like you said,
30:47it's just a kid
30:47looking for friends.
30:48Yeah, but how did
30:49we get to be them?
30:51Hey, hey, hey,
30:51what's all this?
30:53Well, you knew
30:53we were coming for lunch,
30:54didn't you?
30:54Yeah, but me and your
30:56tablecloth.
30:56Anyone would think
30:57that it's a special occasion.
30:59Well, I might put
31:01these somewhere.
31:03What's that silly grin for?
31:05Nothing, I'm just
31:07glad to see you happy.
31:09Oh, roses,
31:09it must be love.
31:11You do realise
31:12it's going to take
31:12all the credit for this,
31:13don't you?
31:14Oh, yeah, and I'm
31:15never going to hear
31:15the end of it from
31:16Colleen, either,
31:17in her flippin' love process.
31:19Excellent.
31:21Oh, you look so happy.
31:23Happiest I've been
31:24in a long while, sweetie.
31:26You know, I was a little
31:27bit nervous about
31:28putting my heart
31:29on the line again,
31:30but I reckon I'm
31:31on a pretty safe
31:32wicket with this one,
31:33don't you?
31:34Yeah.
31:36Up at last, eh?
31:38That start, Alfred.
31:40I had a very
31:41tiring day yesterday.
31:43Well, that explains
31:43why I could hardly get
31:44two words out of you
31:45last night.
31:45Yeah, well, you won't
31:46have to put up with me
31:47for very much longer.
31:47I'm just here to clean
31:48up my office,
31:49tie up a few loose ends,
31:50and I'll be on my way.
31:52What?
31:53Don't tell me you're
31:54going back to the city
31:55for good.
31:56I mean, why?
31:57Well, I can't think of
31:58a single compelling
31:59reason to stay.
32:00Plenty of reasons,
32:01Morag.
32:02There's me and Martha
32:03and Rick just for starters.
32:05I'm not talking
32:05about family.
32:07I just don't want
32:07to be around to be
32:08reminded of my mistakes
32:10over the last few weeks.
32:13Mistakes?
32:15Yeah, my futile campaign
32:16with Mr West and Miss Vale.
32:18Come off it, Morag,
32:19you stopped Project 56.
32:21Oh, not really.
32:22I think the credit for that
32:23goes to the person
32:24who murdered Mr West.
32:26We may never find out
32:27the identity because of
32:28my interference into
32:29the police investigation.
32:31You're only trying to help.
32:32Oh, yeah, well, you tell
32:33that to Robert Radcliffe,
32:34who, of course, we can't
32:35find because he's missing,
32:36probably dead.
32:38What brought all this
32:39on, Morag?
32:40I turned my feud
32:42into a personal vendetta
32:43and in the process
32:44cost a man his life.
32:45So, I suppose there's
32:47nothing I can say
32:47that'll change your mind.
32:49Nope.
32:50Oh, but I do thank you
32:50for trying.
32:51Well, Morag, if you go
32:52back to the city for good,
32:53who the flamin' hell
32:54am I going to argue with?
32:55Oh, I'm sure you'll
32:56find someone.
32:59Kids are going to miss you.
33:01Yeah.
33:03What's up?
33:05I'm sorry, did anybody
33:06touch this box
33:07when I was away?
33:08Why, something missing?
33:09Alfred, please,
33:10just try and think,
33:11did anybody go near this box?
33:12Well, I don't know,
33:13it's been in your room
33:14the whole time.
33:15Why, why, what's up?
33:16What have you lost?
33:2532 years old,
33:26180 centimetres,
33:27slim build,
33:28blonde hair, blue eyes.
33:30Let me know if you spot them.
33:33Okay, bye.
33:35Let me see what she wants.
33:38I'm Miss Bellingham,
33:38I didn't realise you were back.
33:39What can I do for you?
33:40I've come to pick up my files,
33:42the ones Mr West stole
33:43from my office.
33:44I got a call to say
33:44they were ready for me
33:45to collect.
33:46Yes.
33:47Follow me if you like.
33:50We have finished with them.
33:54There you go.
34:00Is there a problem?
34:01No.
34:02I'm just curious,
34:03what have you been doing
34:04with them all this time?
34:05We examined them
34:06and made a report.
34:08Ah, fine.
34:10Better that you get done with it.
34:14Yep.
34:14Thanks for that.
34:16We've got him.
34:17They picked him up in the city.
34:18He's on his way here now.
34:31Where did you take off
34:32doing such a hurry?
34:33Oh, I had to collect these files
34:34from the police station.
34:36Well, whatever it is you're after
34:37must be pretty important.
34:41What is it?
34:45Some of these pages
34:46have been ripped out.
34:47Probably down at the cop shop.
34:51Morag?
34:52Uh, no.
34:53No.
34:53I wish you'd tell me
34:54what the flaming hell's going on.
34:56Nothing.
34:58It's fine.
35:08Get your hands off me!
35:12You told him.
35:13Calm down, Detective Baker.
35:15Do you realise what you've done?
35:16You've jeopardised...
35:16Save it for the interview.
35:17We need to keep this official.
35:22We can take it from you.
35:23No, I want to hear
35:24what he has to say.
35:34You were making a big mistake.
35:37Then you'd better do
35:37some quick explaining.
35:40Interview commencing...
35:41Dammit, this is me.
35:42Whatever rubbish he's fed you,
35:44you should know
35:45that I'm not guilty.
35:46Then start talking.
35:47Is it true that
35:48Zoe McAllister's still alive?
35:52Yes.
35:53Why didn't you say
35:54something sooner?
35:56And don't tell me
35:57that you're acting on
35:58instructions from headquarters.
35:59They know nothing about it.
36:00Yeah, that's right.
36:00They don't.
36:01Josh found out, didn't he?
36:02He suspected you were
36:03working with Zoe,
36:04so you killed him.
36:05Of course,
36:06there just might be
36:06another explanation.
36:07Which would be?
36:11It's true that
36:12Josh West found out
36:13about Zoe.
36:14Apparently one of his
36:15employees stumbled
36:15across the shed
36:16that I've been renting
36:16out in the bush.
36:17Can the employee
36:18verify this?
36:19Josh never told me
36:20his name,
36:20but I do know
36:21that he paid the guy off.
36:22That's why he never
36:22reported it.
36:24Anyway,
36:24Josh saw it as a way
36:25of discrediting the police.
36:27A chance to create
36:28a smoke screen
36:28for Project 56.
36:29That's why he contacted me.
36:31And you met up with him
36:31on the night of the murder?
36:32Yes, I told him
36:33that I wouldn't give in
36:33to his threats.
36:34But he wouldn't
36:35accept that.
36:36I have already told you,
36:38Constable Holden,
36:38that I did not kill
36:39Josh West.
36:40He was very much alive
36:41when I left.
36:42Then why did you
36:42keep quiet about your visit?
36:44Because if I hadn't,
36:45I would have had to
36:45tell you about Zoe.
36:46Oh, and the fact
36:47that you're working together.
36:48Look, I'm not working
36:48with her, you idiot.
36:49I'm trying to stop her.
36:51If I had have told you,
36:52it would have jeopardised
36:52our whole operation.
36:53How many times
36:54do I have to spell
36:54that out to you?
36:56Is there anyone
36:57who can back up this story?
37:00Tracy Thompson.
37:03She's the detective
37:04that tipped me off
37:04about Zoe's survival
37:05in the first place.
37:06I'll check that out.
37:07Yeah, you do that.
37:12You satisfying?
37:13I'm going to have
37:13to ask you to...
37:14You just shut up
37:14and listen to me.
37:16I asked you to trust me.
37:18I told you that Zoe's
37:19survival had to remain
37:20a secret.
37:21And then you lied to me
37:22again about the email
37:23from Josh.
37:24What did you expect me to do?
37:25You were supposed
37:25to understand that I had
37:26my reasons for keeping
37:27it to myself.
37:29But that doesn't matter
37:30now, does it?
37:31Because thanks to you,
37:32Jack, our friends
37:33and family are in more
37:34danger than you could
37:35possibly imagine.
37:40Yeah, we should let
37:41them do the dishes.
37:42They insisted.
37:43Yeah, and I think
37:44they're enjoying it too.
37:46Oh, look out.
37:49I'll get it.
37:52Hi, Charlie.
37:53Hi.
37:54Is Kim there?
37:55Uh, mate,
37:56what are you doing here?
37:56You mind if I come in?
37:58Oh, well, um...
38:00The lady at the gym
38:00said you'd be here.
38:02I brought the money out of you.
38:04Oh, you really didn't
38:05have to come all the way
38:05over here.
38:06No, that's okay.
38:08I wasn't doing anything else.
38:10Right.
38:12Well, listen,
38:13we're pretty busy
38:14at the moment,
38:14so, um,
38:15I'll see you around.
38:18Right, okay.
38:20I'll see you soon.
38:21Yeah, all right, see you.
38:22And thanks again.
38:24No problem.
38:29What did I tell you?
38:35What's going on?
38:36I finally got in touch
38:38with Tracy Thompson.
38:39Peter's story checks out.
38:42Can I go now?
38:44Yeah, and once again,
38:45I'm sorry.
38:51He's completely in the clear.
38:52Thompson told the same story
38:54virtually word for word.
38:55Come on, boss,
38:55he could have fed it to him.
38:56Let it go, Constable.
38:57How the hell...
38:58I said let it go.
38:59It's not him.
39:01Come on.
39:22It's Morag Bellingham.
39:25Yes, I got back yesterday.
39:28I'm afraid this is not
39:30a social call.
39:31I need to see you.
39:33No, tomorrow is too late.
39:35I need to see you today.
39:36And the matter is not
39:37open for discussion.
39:41Because I believe you are
39:42the person responsible
39:43for the murder
39:44of Joshua West.
40:12I need to see you next time.
40:15I wonder what I mean.
40:30You better come in.
40:38Tomorrow, the murderer will be exposed.
40:40So you covered up his dick?
40:41It's someone they least expected.
40:43You are being formally charged.
40:45You will be remanded in custody until a bail hearing.
40:47But the bay's in for an even bigger shock.
40:49I just hope that by the time Zoe comes back to the bay that we're ready for it.
40:53The stalker is back.
40:54Tomorrow on Home and Away.
