Anna Azallion breaks down what AccuWeather's long-range team is watching for June 2026.

00:00From record heat in the west to severe storms in the midwest and weather whiplash in the east,
00:04here's what our long-range team is watching for June. The biggest concern in the west
00:08is the heat. The northwest could challenge record highs by mid-month while drought and
00:12wildfire risks continue to build. Meanwhile, the plains in midwest could end up wetter than
00:16historical averages this June. Around June 12th through the 15th, that pattern may also bring
00:20damaging winds, a few tornadoes, and beneficial rainfall. And in the east, expect a temperature
00:25roller coaster. Cooler air early in June gives way to a warm-up before another cool shot arrives
00:30around mid-month, possibly with severe storms along that front. Warmer weather may return later in the
00:35month, helping average temperatures finish close to normal, at least in the northeast. Just because
00:40the calendar says June doesn't mean summer weather is here to stay.
