Oregon Ducks Coach Dan Lanning discusses mental health in sports. Lanning talks about how they are always aware of it and how their team is a family and everyone is comfortable to communicate. He also emphasizes how they recognize it in their program.

00:05the offensive line has had a lot of turnover the past few years but you guys maintain that
00:09standard been you know in the drill mortar joe moore award mix every year poncho has been at
00:14the center of that how much of that success can just be attributed to his continuity and his
00:19leadership in that room well he's a huge part of it but he would tell you he's a part of
00:22it
00:22right and there's no good old line that has you know deficiencies right ultimately it's about all
00:27five guys coming together and that's what makes a line so special but he's certainly been a big
00:31piece of that following up on zach's question about dante and the letter um you know the subject
00:37of mental health obviously in sports is becoming more talked about and i'm wondering how important
00:43that is in terms of your locker room and and the leadership that you you know try to instill
00:49so say the question exactly mental health the subject how often it comes up in the locker room
00:55and how often you address it with players i think it's something we're always you know cognizant
01:00of and and aware of you know i think all of our guys feel really comfortable it's a family here
01:03right so you're able to express yourself and communicate um and it's important for us we
01:08got to keep at the forefront of where we're at but we're here to play football you know football's tough
01:11life's hard all right our guys recognize all those pieces but if you don't recognize it in your
01:16program then you're you're probably missing something and i'd like to think that we hit that
