00:00uh can you just run us through that press conference and just the the just the line
00:05of questioning for him there I think smiley love to follow here let's just let's just do an oral
00:10history of I mean how that all went down you had to be just licking your chops man like when
00:15he
00:15when he sat down it was been like I'm about to cook this young man well I look I saw
00:21the clip
00:22that you guys talked about and I got a lot of praise for literally just saying I don't really
00:27know what you mean so it's the least I've ever done for the most praise but 100% I'll take
00:32it
00:32but yeah so I mean everybody knows Garrett Kago missed his tea time um which is already I think
00:39that like is really interesting for people how that can happen you know with something so important
00:43at such an important event but I think it was the stuff that came after that really kind of made
00:47this sort of a really tasty like pre pre early week story uh right from his Marty Smith interview on
00:54ESPN
00:54uh when and that was the first time I actually saw that right before our press conference when he
00:59said you know I was I was late but I was on time if you know what I mean he
01:03said the same thing to
01:04Marty Smith and in my head I was like you know in a sitcom the response would be I don't
01:10know what
01:10you mean Garrett I have no clue what you mean uh so so then he came and I was just
01:15like I was just
01:16asking him questions you know we all were asking him questions uh about being late and the
01:21explanations were confusing and he just so happened to say that line he said his line to me
01:26and I already had I and I was just like I you know this wasn't a performance I was just
01:30like
01:31I it's so easy sometimes I think when you're talking to a player to kind of accept whatever
01:37they throw at you and and kind of to turn the follow-up part of your brain off because
01:41you know like they're a little bit higher stat I mean they're a lot higher status and it feels like
01:46almost rude to question them um but I think like you know to pat myself on the back I think
01:51that
01:51killed that modesty in me a long time ago so it was easy for me to go Garrett I don't
01:56know what you
01:56mean when you say you're late but on time uh and then that kind of led to just more absurdity
02:02so
02:03I I loved it I thought it was so funny and I have to say guys afterward I was thinking
02:07about it
02:08and I I don't want to give him too much credit here believe me but I'm like does he have
02:12a point
02:13because the tea time the tea time says 7 colon 18 it doesn't say 7 colon 18 colon 00 so
02:21if he got
02:21there at like 7 18 30 is he truly late it got me questioning time the nature of existence it
02:27was
02:27really some profound stuff well we appreciate you asking the uh the hard-hitting questions uh because
02:33that was that was a a grade a uh as far as journalism goes the real the real journalism big
02:40j
02:40journalism as charlie likes to call it
02:42you
