00:00I think I'm pretty clear on this.
00:02I don't want to trade Miles.
00:04I understand the idea of the passing window of his max value.
00:10I do think that that is, one, I think that's a little bit of NBA mentality
00:14bleeding into the NFL.
00:17The NFL is a completely different business.
00:19And two, I think some guys you just ride with until the end, right?
00:25Like I think there's just some players that as long as they want to be here,
00:28and that is a big caveat in this whole discussion.
00:30Big part of the discussion.
00:31You know, this obsession with, like nobody's saying, you know,
00:34Mahomes is 30, coming off a serious injury.
00:37Should the Chiefs cash in on his value?
00:39I mean, that is a little different though, right?
00:41No, it is.
00:42Quarterbacks play a lot longer typically.
00:44Totally.
00:44But I just think it's like, I think elite players,
00:48I think there's something to be said about, hey, this is a guy we drafted.
00:54This is a guy we've developed.
00:55This is a guy we've hung with through all kind of awkwardness and weirdness
00:59and bad feelings.
01:00And we've gotten to this point where he's coming off this historic season,
01:04another Defensive Player of the Year award, right?
01:06Like maybe we just see how long he can be Miles Garrett for.
01:10I understand as long as the Browns are not winning enough games,
01:15that this is going to be a conversation.
01:18I do, though, think that this idea, because I think you've said it once or twice,
01:23you know, if they trade Miles, the season is, I don't want to say the season is doomed
01:27because that's how it's written on the, but you don't think they're going to compete, do you?
01:31No, I think the idea is that if you trade Miles, that's got to be the assumption.
01:35The assumption is that you're going towards six, seven potentially wins,
01:38somewhere in that range, like six, seven, things go right, maybe eight wins,
01:43and that's really it.
01:45Yeah, and so I think it would signal to a lot of the fans out there
01:49that 2026 is not the Browns' year.
01:52So I think it depends on what you got back in return.
01:57So I've mentioned the Rams as a suitor because it makes sense for where they're going
02:02and where you're going.
02:03Yeah, we would think a lot of draft picks would be in there.
02:04Yeah, so if you got three firsts or two or three firsts from the Rams in Jared Verse,
02:09I think Jared Verse is a really good football player.
02:12I think he replaces Miles on the starting defensive line, although he's not Miles.
02:16And I look at the rest of that defense and say, I think Mason Graham's really good.
02:20Malik Collins was fantastic last year.
02:23I think you have enough pieces to still be maybe not as good a defense as you could have been.
02:28I still think you can be a top-ten defense without Miles.
02:31And so I really, because I think, and now that factors on health, especially with Denzel.
02:37Yeah, there's a lot of that.
02:38And plus, brand new everything, no Jim Schwartz now.
02:41And so I don't know.
02:43So I think it's fair, by the way.
02:45I think what you're saying is fair.
02:46I just don't, I don't, a lot of people are going to say, if they were to trade Miles June
02:502nd,
02:52many folks are just going to say, well, I guess we'll see at the 2027 draft.
02:56I totally get it.
02:57I still think this team has talent on both sides of the ball, and I will genuinely be excited to
03:03see what they do this year with or without Miles.
03:07I don't want to trade Miles.
03:08I want to see him, again, I'd love to see another 20-sack season, because that was a hell of
03:12a lot of fun.
03:12And I'd love to see it in like a 10-win season here in Cleveland.
03:16Nobody clipped that, because then all of a sudden people are going to say they're a 10-win team.
03:20But no, I mean, I don't, I think it would hurt you.
03:24It obviously would hurt you.
03:25But I don't think it'd be a death now.
03:27No, I don't think it would either, and I think that's why I'm so comfortable with the idea of them
03:31trading him.
03:32For the exact reasons why you're describing is why I think I'm comfortable with it.
03:36If they trade him, I don't think it's, I think a lot of people will check out just because that's
03:40what they think is going to happen.
03:42But I don't think the difference between Miles Garrett on this team and Miles Garrett not on this team is
03:46going to be the difference between making the playoffs and not.
03:48Yeah, like I think if you said whoever starts a quarterback is going to be a top 16 quarterback, but
03:54they're not going to have Miles, or they're going to have Miles, and they're just not going to get anything
03:59out of the quarterback position.
04:00Well, I think that first one, you're going to win enough games to be competitive.
04:04And competitive to me is anywhere from seven wins up.
04:09And to me, that's all I think you can ask for this season.
04:12New head coach, new DC, a lot of young players on this team.
04:16But I think there's a scenario where even if you trade Miles, if you go out there and you're a
04:21seven or eight win team, I think by the end of that season, especially if now you have the assets
04:27to move up and get that quarterback.
04:30Oh, by the end, people will be back in.
04:31And you'll be watching with the idea of, all right, how close are we to getting that quarterback to then
04:36be the guy to go?
04:37Listen, me and you and people listening right now are going to watch anyway.
04:39I'm talking about the guy that it's a toss-up whether or not he's going to watch the game or
04:44not.
04:45That guy's probably out if Miles isn't going to be here.
04:47That's interesting because I don't know.
04:50This town just has such a complicated relationship with Miles.
04:55It's not that we don't love Miles.
04:56I don't think it's because of the Miles love or anything attached to it.
04:58I don't think it's like a boycott because they love Miles.
05:00I think it'd more be the idea of what I believe it signals to everybody else.
05:04If you can convince yourself that this team is an 8, 9, or 10-win team.
05:08Now, if you trade Miles, you're not going to have those thoughts come spring training camp.
05:13Now, you might.
05:13You might because you believe in this team.
05:15You might talk to a Browns quarterback or two.
05:17And then maybe we elevate these things and we get there higher.
05:19All of a sudden, you're at a 14-win team.
05:20But with Miles, people have a hard time.
05:22Vegas says 6.5.
05:23People have a hard time getting themselves to anything more than 7.
05:26Without Miles, I would imagine the support behind this team is going to be,
05:31all right, we'll see you in 2027.
05:32There's a chance I'm confusing that I think last year normalized the thought
05:37of trading a player like Miles so that a fair amount.
05:41I mean, our guy, super fan, Jay Casey, whom I love dearly,
05:44I'm getting three or four DMs a week being like,
05:48when are they going to trade Miles?
05:50And by the way, I don't mind them.
05:51I don't necessarily respond because I don't really have an answer on it.
05:54One way or another, I don't think they are, but I could be wrong
05:57because they could be just moving in silence like the Jacksonville trade.
06:00But, like, there's actually an appetite for trading Miles.
06:04So I might be confusing that with then people, like, it might be the rare case
06:08where when you trade a guy who people have conflicting feelings for,
06:11no matter how great he is, that it actually does wake up Browns fans in a weird way.
06:16I don't know that the reaction is going to be 100% negative.
06:20I felt good when I said it.
06:22I even did the hands thing.
06:23Oh, I don't know.
06:23What do you think the reaction is going to be?
06:24Because we played the scenario out, and at this point, I think it's kind of –
06:29I think it's more split than what people think in their minds.
06:32I agree.
06:32I think 50% of people are really going to love it, depending on what you get for them.
06:36And the other 50% are going to be like, what the bleep?
06:39And I think that first group, I think there's going to be enough there
06:42that they're trying to see what this team is building,
06:44and they're trying to see the longevity attached to putting this whole entire roster together.
06:49And I think they'll look at this and say, okay, they're doing it.
06:52They're doing it the proper way, and they're taking advantage of all this.
06:54Meanwhile, the other group is just going to be upset that you lost
06:57one of the best players in Browns history.
06:58So I do think, though, this is why what you get back matters.
07:03For sure it does.
07:04If you get a –
07:05You can't get fleeced.
07:06Yeah, well, but you can't – if it's just about picks, that's tough to sell in June.
07:11Right?
07:12But if you got picks and a young player, and specifically somebody who has –
07:17like Jared Verse had, I think, seven and a half sacks last year.
07:19That's something you can point to and go, eh, that ain't nothing.
07:23It's not 20-whatever sacks, but it sure as hell not – you know, it's not nothing.
07:28I think that's why the devil's in the details.
07:31In terms of how I would look at this and go,
07:33whether the Browns could still be something or not this year.
07:362-1-6, 4-7-4, double-0-9-2.
07:38Are the Browns 2026 hopes doomed if they trade Miles Isaac and Shaker Heights?
07:43Giving us a call.
07:44What's up, buddy?
07:45Hey, guys.
07:46How you doing?
07:47Doing very well.
07:49I'm on the side of keeping Miles because I can't understand for the life of me
07:53a player of Miles' caliber that you would want to trade for anything.
07:57You're trying to – I don't care if you are trying to win in 2027.
08:00I don't care if you are – if you do think that Miles won't get you any wins.
08:04I'm thinking to myself, did you guys talk like this when Joe Thomas was losing?
08:08Did you think about trading Joe Thomas at any point?
08:12Yes, a lot of people did.
08:13Yeah, a lot of people did.
08:14It was all over the station, buddy.
08:15It was like every – yeah.
08:17Okay, so – and I think that's the most dumbest thing, too, as well, because I'm thinking,
08:22you don't feel fine players like these guys.
08:25They just don't come along.
08:27Joe Thomas, the Miles Garrets don't come along.
08:30They don't find you.
08:31You have to build your team.
08:33Build your team.
08:34I can't see Pittsburgh trading any of their star defensive players.
08:39It's not – it doesn't seem like it's right.
08:41Until they don't really actually want them.
08:43But Steelers fans have argued that they've been wrong in that the entire time, that they
08:47should have traded Hayward.
08:48They should have traded T.J. Watt.
08:49And Watt, yeah, yeah.
08:49Like, that's been the argument that if the Steelers were doing this properly, they would
08:53have – they would have broken that defense down.
08:56They would have broken it down, but they didn't break it down because they knew they didn't
08:59have anybody else to put in there.
09:02But they didn't, and that's why they're –
09:03And their city – their city is apt to win.
09:06They haven't won a playoff game in 10 years.
09:08We don't know how to win.
09:09They haven't won a playoff game in 10 years.
09:10No, no, no.
09:11It isn't a fact that they haven't won in years.
09:13They have won.
09:14No, it's a fact.
09:15They have not won a playoff game in 10 years.
09:17They have won, and they taste the 20.
09:19Not a playoff game.
09:20And they want to keep winning.
09:21We don't know how to win, so we will not keep the good players.
09:25Everybody that talks – even the Cavaliers.
09:28They talk about trading Mobley.
09:29Talk about trading Allen.
09:32What you need to do is get your bench athletic.
09:35Trade – get the Dean Ways and the –
09:38How do we go from the Steelers haven't won a playoff game to the bench for the Cavs?
09:43How did you do that?
09:44It doesn't matter if they put in one Super Bowl.
09:46How did you do that?
09:47They have won Super Bowls, and they're used to winning, so they're going to try to build
09:53around winning players.
09:56They're not going to just trade players.
09:58Let me ask you.
09:59What is Miles' one, Isaac?
10:02Just devil's advocate.
10:03What is Miles' one?
10:04What is the – Miles can't win anything.
10:07You're flipping it around.
10:08It's the team that wins, and it's the team that keeps the good players.
10:12You don't hear of any good teams trading good players.
10:16The Eagles are about to trade A.J. Brown to New England.
10:19The Cowboys, this isn't the Packers last year.
10:21They just traded Micah Parsons last year.
10:23People think Miles is a headache.
10:25A.J. Brown could not carry Miles at Jack Stroud.
10:27A.J. Brown could carry Miles at Jack Stroud.
10:30Miles is a one-in-a-lifetime generational player.
10:33A.J. Brown is not a generational player.
10:36By the way, Isaac –
10:36Give me another player.
10:37Give me a generational player.
10:39He just said Micah Parsons going to the Packers.
10:43Micah Parsons wanted out.
10:45And Michael –
10:45It seems like Miles wanted out a year ago.
10:47What do you mean?
10:48And Miles –
10:49Miles –
10:50The mighty kept Miles here.
10:51And that's why –
10:52And Dallas knows how to win, too.
10:54Isaac.
10:54Dallas knows how to win.
10:55What have we won?
10:56Isaac, I've enjoyed this quite a bit.
10:58We are up against it because we got Danny coming up.
11:00But we thank you for the call.
11:01Just to call back, I said I wouldn't trade Miles, and I don't want to.
11:06And I said I would.
11:07So your argument should be with me.
11:09And I think it was.
