00:55South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from De Leso Studios in Caracas, Venezuela. We'll begin with the news.
01:13As part of the second national pilgrimage for peace and an end to sanctions, Venezuela's
01:17acting president, Delsi Rodriguez, visited the state of Anzuategui. In this scenario,
01:22the acting president denounced the sanctions imposed on the country, saying that they threatened the
01:26well-being and quality of life of the Venezuelan people, accompanied by regional authorities and
01:31mobilized citizens. Delsi Rodriguez reiterated a call for national unity in order to overcome external
01:36aggression and promote economic recovery. The pilgrimage, which has traveled across several
01:42states, seeks to highlight the impact of the blockade and bolster popular resistance. In this
01:48context, the acting president emphasized the Venezuelan state's productive achievements despite imperialist
01:56aggression. Venezuela does not deserve sanctions. It isn't just for Venezuela to be sanctioned.
02:10On the contrary, Venezuela has the right to development, progress, happy future, and homeland.
02:17Today, we are on this pilgrimage to restore these rights and ensure justice is served.
02:23We are also here to restore the rights of the Venezuelan people, to heal the wounds left by the
02:29economic blockade against our country, and to put an end to social inequality. It is its motivations
02:36that inspire us to fight for our rights. We are fighting for the rights of the Venezuelan people,
02:43as well as for our own country.
02:53Venezuela's acting president, Delsi Rodriguez, reaffirmed the government's determination to fight for
02:57economic independence and rule out any possibility of surrender.
03:16The Venezuelan minister of interior justice and peace, Delsi Rodriguez, accused the sector of the
03:22opposition of being exclusionary and called on the official forces to maintain a firm unity.
03:30You have to take a break. We're going to be right back.
03:47The Venezuelan minister of interior justice and peace, Delsi Rodriguez, accused the
03:51sector of the opposition of being exclusionary and called on the official forces to maintain a firm unity.
04:04Those people are not peaceful, that stupid sector of the opposition.
04:10They are bad as human beings, people who consider us not even inferior, but non-existent.
04:17They think the country is only theirs, that's how their parents, grandparents and uncles have always treated them.
04:26Fortunately, they, as people who are so educated and intelligent, make mistakes every day and are killing each other.
04:36We have to be in one block, one block, one block.
04:41We have always been in one block in the worst circumstances, and we have always remained united.
04:57Likewise, the minister of interior justice and peace, Delsi Rodriguez, praised the ancestral
05:01power of indigenous peoples as a unifying force that transcends individualism.
05:07If there is one thing that is powerful, it is the ancestral power of our indigenous peoples.
05:14It is a power that transcends everything because you can feel it. Do you know why?
05:20Because there's no hatred, as Vicenta said. There's no hatred. You can be angry for a while,
05:27but then you have to be happy because you have to keep moving forward. When something happens to someone,
05:34it happens to all of us. When I tell you that if someone messes with one of us, they mess
05:41with all of us.
05:42That's how our brothers live. And when someone achieves something, they achieve it for all of us.
05:51And in Venezuela, 115 citizens were returned from the United States as part of a new operation on
05:58the great mission Return to the Homeland. Flight 152 arriving from Miami landed at Simon Bolivar
06:05International Airport in Maiketia, with Venezuelan citizens who voluntarily chose to return to their
06:10homeland. Also among the passengers were 80 men, 17 women, and 18 minors. Upon their arrival, authorities
06:17activated reception protocols to ensure a safe and organized welcome. In this regard, the Return
06:21to the Homeland Plan is an initiative of the Venezuelan government to offer a free and safe
06:27return to migrants who face adverse conditions abroad and wish to return.
06:37And what the government of President Daniel Noboa presented as its flagship security project,
06:42the El Encuento Prison in Santa Elena Province on Ecuador's Central Coast, has now recorded three
06:48deaths in less than two months. This is how the body of Elvis Quevedo, the latest inmate to die in
06:54the high-security prison, was removed on May 27. The National Service for Comprehensive Attention to
06:59Adult Persons Deprived of Liberty issued a brief statement providing no further details about the health.
07:06Human rights organizations report on an outbreak of tuberculosis, along with other inhumane
07:12conditions they say amount to serious violations of fundamental rights and are calling for an
07:17independent investigation.
07:26And social and indigenous movements in the Chapade region of central Bolivia denounced the total energy
07:32cut in the Cochabamba department on Wednesday night. They claimed that this is a maneuver by the
07:37government of President Rodrigo Paz to kidnap former President Evo Morales. The blackout that affected
07:43the towns of Villa Tonari, Shimore, Sinajora and Iber Gardezama began at 7.50 pm local time and lasted
07:50up almost three hours. The leaders denounced that rather than being a technical cut, it is a deliberate
07:55maneuver in which U.S. forces would be intervening with the approval of the Bolivian executive. The episode
08:01occurred in a context of high political and social tension where the communities of Chapade have led
08:05mobilizations in rejection of the program of the President Paz, whom they accused of being a hunger
08:12maker and a traitor.
08:25And in Bolivia, transport workers in La Paz launched an indefinite strike accompanied by road blockades
08:30demanding fuel supplies for the sector and protesting the government's failure to honor previous
08:35agreements. The measure was implemented by the May 1st Departmental Federation of Drivers at various
08:41locations across La Paz. In this scenario, transport workers are demanding that the government address
08:46their concerns, immediately claiming that Rodrigo Paz's political measures are severely impacting the
08:51national economy. The sector will continue to protest until a concrete response is received from the authorities.
09:06And in Bolivia, the state authorities announced a law that restricted the armed forces intervention in
09:11internal conflicts. President Rodrigo Paz repealed law 1341, which had limited the application of a state of
09:17emergency in the country since 2020. The bill had already been approved by the Senate and was promoted by
09:24opposition lawmaker Carlos Alarcón, who argued that the repeal law had tied the government's hands when it came to
09:30applying the state of emergency as set out in the constitution. The decision removed restrictions on
09:35military intervention in internal conflicts amid ongoing protests and road blockades calling for the
09:41president's resignation. In this scenario, social organizations warned that this determination paves the
09:48way for repression against mobilized people.
10:01And for four consecutive weeks, Bolivia has been experiencing protests demanding the resignation of
10:07President Rodrigo Paz. In this scenario, Telesur, correspondent in Bolivia, Femuraya reports that an unusual
10:12blackout has been recorded in the Chapade area. According to the journalists, it is feared that this is a
10:18manoeuvre as part of an operation to arrest former President Evo Morales, Aymah.
10:48China reiterates its firm support for Cuba in the face of threats from the United States and defends
10:53the principle of non-interference in internal affairs. At a press conference, Chinese Foreign
10:58Ministry spokesperson Mao Lin emphasized that Beijing opposes the threat or use of force in
11:04international relations. The statements came in response to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez's
11:09remarks during the open debate of the UN Security Council hosted by Chinese Minister Wang Yi,
11:14where he denounced the humanitarian consequences of the U.S. energy blockade against Cuba and called
11:19for international solidarity. China systematically reiterated its support for non-interference and
11:25the right of the Cuban people to their sovereign development.
11:40And various hegemonic media outlets have reported that the Pentagon has spent months positioning troops
11:47and weapons necessary for the United States to launch a military attack on Cuba. U.S. President Donald
11:52Trump would have considered the possibility of invading the island after the economic and political pressure
11:57failed to overthrow the Cuban government. Cuba has reiterated its right to self-defense and denounced
12:02the criminal economic blockade that already constitutes an act of war. The resistance of the Cuban
12:06people, together with the support of solidarity movements around the world, would be the response
12:11to any aggression. Likewise, the international community condemns these imperialist threats to the
12:16island's sovereignty. The Council on Foreign and Community Relations of the Caribbean Community expressed its
12:30concern over the escalation of U.S. sanctions against Cuba. The Caribbean community rejected the
12:35tightening of unilateral coercive measures against the Caribbean island and warned of their humanitarian
12:39impact. The body noted that this escalation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade exacerbates
12:48the crisis that has already been plaguing Cubans for more than 60 years. Among the member states,
12:53Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago refrain from taking a position on Washington's policies against the Caribbean island.
13:06And at a press conference, Ana MarÃa MarÃa Machado, the vice president of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power,
13:12warned that the island faces a real threat of military aggression from the United States government.
13:22Cuba is currently facing a real and dangerous threat of direct military aggression by the government of the United States.
13:30This aggressive escalation by the Trump administration is accompanied by the U.S. President's recent executive orders,
13:38which exacerbate to extreme levels the economic, commercial and financial blockade,
13:43the energy blockade, and other unilateral coercive measures against our country, which, for this reason,
13:50increases suffering of our people.
13:59In this regard, MarÃa Machado denounced the indictment by the U.S. Department of Justice against Cuba Army General Raúl
14:04Castro.
14:11Furthermore, on May 20th, the United States Department of Justice issued a famous accusation against Raúl Castro.
14:20The leader of the Cuban Revolution and Army General.
14:24In a blatant, legitimate, and despicable act of dishonesty and political manipulation.
14:31The department distorted the facts surrounding the downing of two aircraft operated by the
14:36Traileries of Mechanization Brothers to the Rescue, based in Miami, in Cuban airspace in February 1986.
14:44These unjust and aggressive acts not only violate the principle of international law and infringe upon the
14:49sovereignty and dignity of our nation, but also have the perverse aim of intensifying the
14:56illegitimate blockade and its policy of strangulation against our heroic people.
15:06The Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdez Mesa takes part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council
15:12scheduled for May 28th and the 29th in the city of Astana. The meeting held under Kazakhstan's pro-temporary presidency
15:20of the Eurasian Economic Union,
15:21a regional mechanism aimed at strengthening cooperation, trade exchange, and economic development among its members and observer states.
15:30According to Cuba's foreign ministry, this will be the island's 11th participation in this integration platform
15:36and its 13-person attendance as part of efforts to expand economic and cooperation ties with countries in the bloc.
15:42Valdez Mesa will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of several participating countries.
15:54We have the opportunity to strengthen the relations and truly work together and we have worked to ensure
15:59there is a contribution toward increasing our relations in the economic and commercial sphere.
16:07And Russia and President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kazakhstan for a three-day visit during which he will
16:12take part in the Eurasian Economic Union Forum, a Russia-led economic bloc of former Soviet states.
16:18The forthcoming Russian-Kazak discussions are expected to focus on key issues in the bilateral
16:23comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance and to examine pressing items on regional and
16:29international agenda. It is expected that following the visit, a joint statement of the heads of states will
16:33be signed along with a package of intergovernmental interagency and commercial documents on the evening of May 28th.
16:40The President of Russia will also address the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum and on May 29th will
16:46participate in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
